With how RB Four was probably kept away from hospitals and medical professionals, I can only imagine he's gotten used to "toughing it out" when he got sick or injured. He's going to end up hiding illness like a cat until he's burning red with fever and nausea, then be freaked out when Time carts him to a doctor. He's not sure what to do in this situation, what's safe, and hospitals can be scary for some kids!! Loosely related is Time having to deal with the medical system for Sky, as chronic conditions like his are so often having to jump through hoops to be taken seriously. He REALLY wishes he could persuade more of these doctors with threats of physical violence instead of the diplomatic limbo.
Thanks for the ask anon! I really loved hearing your thoughts! I love me some medical hc for the RB verse. I especially loved Sky's take! I'm for sure going to write something about that because I have a lot of thoughts about it!
And you're right in that RB Four would not be comfortable with doctors. Aside from the fact that it's a lot of unknown people physically touching and examining him, he had a horrible first experience. That pretty much turned him off the idea of doctors all together. If he gets sick enough that he has to go to the doctors, he'll have to be physically dragged there. No one will enjoy that, especially after he starts biting.
And oh does Sky hate having to deal with doctors. And not just because it's tiring and an awful reminder that his body doesn't fucking work - it's because getting any doctor to take him seriously in the first place is pure hell. He can't even count how many times he's been turned away because doctors either don't believe him about how shitty he feels, or because they're convinced he's blowing things out of proportion and they don't think he needs a more advanced test. That's one of the biggest hurdles to getting his health managed and in RB it's one he failed to clear by himself, which led him to passing out on the townhouse porch. Time is going to have one hell of a time being his advocate. Never before has he wished he could just start snapping necks than the first time he hears one of them ask "Are you sure he's not just faking it?"
