Sometimes I think about Four and his backstory and how LMTCOY Wars would react to learning about him. Because, and correct me if I'm wrong because I'm only basing this on vibes, they have some similar trauma going on.

But specifically I'm thinking about how weird Wars might feel about knowing retroactively that while he was dealing with the Volga situation and his reaction to it, someone else knew very intimately what he was feeling.

Would he feel a kind of kinship? That this very specific feeling of bodily autonomy being yanked away was something Four could also understand? Would they bond over it? Have a real, deep discussion over it and how it affected them?

Or would Wars feel ashamed? Like he made a big deal out of something that was, comparably, nothing? After all, he put himself in that situation. He went after Volga on purpose. And then he made such a big fucking deal about it afterwards - all while Four was silently minding his own business and not causing problems for anyone else. Would it make Wars feel like he overreacted, dragging everyone into it in the club and causing problems for Time?

Or would he maybe feel a little judged by Four? Four never brought up his own experiences, never said a word about it to Wars. Was that because he didn't want to talk about it, or was it because Four just didn't have anything kind to say? Did he keep quiet because he thought Wars was overreacting? Would Wars wonder if Four was silently thinking "why are you complaining? You could have walked away so many times. I didn't have that choice. So what gives you the right to complain?"

Obviously their situations aren't comparable and trauma shouldn't be measured or diminished by someone else's. And it would only be his own inner critic that was thinking those things. But trauma messes with your mind and makes you think some pretty wild stuff.

Sorry to babble I just think those two learning about eachother would be really interesting

It would be very interesting, really, if Four did open up to Warriors about it. Because Wars is traditionally the house Gossip Columnist, but in this instance? You're right. They do have a shared trauma here.

I don't believe Four would bring up his own past while Warriors was in the thick of dealing with the Volga thing. But I do think he might bring it up later, out of nowhere, just. Starting the conversation casually but one-sided, like this is a conversation they had started before. Because Four might have been running around this conversation in his mind for weeks, even months, before he and Wars get the chance to be truly alone and talk.

I do think that Wars would cycle through all of the emotions you've mentioned. He'd definitely feel heavy guilt. It would dredge up those feelings of 'I should have left, I should have walked away,' regardless of whether he really had that choice available to him or not. But his was nothing like Four's situation. Four was too vulnerable, too helpless. He couldn't have gotten away from it if he tried--and believe me, he tried.

On the Four side of things, even just him opening up about his situation to someone outside of it all is a huge step. Hell, even Dark only knows what Shadow's told him. It's a sign that Four is feeling safe enough at the townhouse to open up like that.

And no matter how painful it is for him to talk about, it's also testament to the fact that Four would endure that if it meant helping someone else feel seen.

In fairness, Sky should've seen this coming.

The usual sludge weighing him down had only gotten heavier in the past few days, and somehow blades had crept into his crappy joints. He should drink more water, he knew, he'd been told enough times. But drinking water meant needing to pee, and needing to pee meant getting out of bed. And getting out of bed meant feeling the ground sway beneath him, watching black spots swarm his vision, and fighting to keep his heart in his chest and the meager contents of his stomach.

Cups of water gathered on the night stand. The med student's warnings of UTIs and blood clots went in one ear, got lost in the fog, and wandered out the other.

Sky's head hurt. Sky's everything hurt. Coarse gravel settled into his shoulder from the awkward angle his chest pinned it at, to keep strain off of his back. Not that it worked. Any position that lightened the load only led to a different ache later. Sky would cry. He'd scream if he had the energy to.

But that would only make it worse. Stakes would drive deeper behind his eyes and his chest would only ache.

Golden Goddesses, why couldn't he be normal? Continue his training? Hold a steady relationship with his beloved Sunny- no, no, no, don't think about her, don't think about what you've lost-

A quiet whimper slipped through his torn defenses.

He wanted to curl up and sleep forever. His foot twitched and an axe split open his shin. He sighed. His ribs crackled and wheezed. His head pounded in time with his heart.

...

Sky shouldn't be surprised when he's shoved back into his body on the bathroom floor. He's not surprised by the familiar basin before his face and bile rising up his throat.

How he got there eluded him. But there was a nice hand rubbing between his trembling shoulders and pillowing his head on a lap once he'd stopped retching. Garbled words swam through the air over his head, the hands gently brushed hair out of his face. A plastic straw poked through his slightly parted lips and he sucked instinctively.

Cool water flooded his parched mouth, flowing down his throat and settling heavily in his stomach. It should make him feel better. It makes him feel sick.

Sky groaned and pressed his forehead into his pillow. Something thunked on the floor and hands returned to his hair. Petting, detangling, smoothing. It was more soothing than Sky would ever admit, but the way tension leaked out of his shoulders probably ratted him out.

"Okay, okay, it's okay. You're okay, Sky, just breathe. Someone's on their way, we'll get you somewhere more comfortable, okay?"

Sky trusted them. Whoever it was, they... he...? The person was familiar.

He didn't know how much time passed until heavier footsteps approached them and knelt down beside him.

"Thank you, Hyrule. How is he?"

"He drank a little water, he hasn't reacted much but he seems to like me doing this. Not unresponsive, but I don't know how awake he is."

Tears welled in Sky's eyes, wet against the sticky crusts at the corners. He was right there. He wanted to scream. He wanted to open his eyes. He was so tired. He couldn't talk, even if he wanted to.

At least they didn't treat him like he was just an object, a tool they were sick of malfunctioning. They kept their voices low, the comfort consistent. Didn't make a big deal of his crying, just... soothed it.

Sky was still resting on... who was it again... Hyrule's lap, when his tears slowed and his eyes cracked open a little. They immediately shut again with a little whimper.

"There, it's okay, we've got you."

"Sky? I'm going to pick you up now, and take you to your bed. If you'd rather go to the couch, give me a sign."

He didn't.

Strong arms wound around the limp lump of his body. Slowly, he was lifted to rest against a shoulder he knew all too well.

Sky was already losing the battle with consciousness when Time stood up, and he hoped falling asleep in his arms was enough to say thank you.

So guess who's having a bit of a flare-up and bullying Sky

I don't have much to say other than I LOVE Time being soft and caring for these strays. It was important to me to add in like, Hyrule and Time being clear and calm and narrating what they were doing, if that makes sense. Even if Sky was unconscious, it's less scary when the people around you aren't freaking out and they're making an effort to keep you filled in and calm. They care so much about him, I love them-

I had half an idea to write a snippet where Legend offered Sky a little something to help, out of genuine pity, but realised he either wouldn't or Time wouldn't allow it. Or Wind would actually stab him if he got Sky into drugs, even if it was a genuine offer because Legend KNOWS it can help, even if not permanently. Legend's still young despite how jaded he is, maybe he thinks that if it's him who occasionally gives Sky stuff, he can stop Sky going down the same path of addiction, but idk. He'd know that desperation is the first step on the path to addiction. Plus, I can't imagine Sky being the one to ask him, so this idea is just a random idea

Also, your response to my last ask??? I can't tell you how many times I read your words and cried because nobody's been so sweet to me about this before- thank you, genuinely :")

Oh Brainrot - you and your big beautiful brain make me all so squishy and squealy! This was so damn GOOD! I Love Caretaking Time! And Hyrule my beloved! I love how he steps up to help!

And omg Legend offering Sky something to help is a fucking AMAZING idea! And with how bad Sky feels, he'd absolutely say yes. And Legend would do it with best intentions, true, but he's a mess and he's young and he'd fail to realize that Sky is in the most prime condition to fall into addiction. He'd just recognize that someone else has been let down by the system and institutionally want to help in the only way he knows how to. It "works" for him, so why not offer Sky the same relief?

Wow okay now I'm thinking about the implications of That and how big of a wench it would throw into the mix. Wind probably wouldn't care much at first. After all, he dealt to plenty of people. It's not like he should care about Sky anymore than those other people, right? WRONG! Experiencing someone with an addiction when you live with them is a completely different way of seeing the harm he was causing.

It would also draw an even deeper wedge between Hyrule and Legend. Because Hyrule would not stand for Legend giving Sky street drugs - not as a studying med student. You know those two would be straight up fist fighting over it if Legend even tried.

Time would be against it on principle, but also there might be a small voice in the back of his mind that considers it when Sky has a flare up and can barely keep water down. Maybe, if he monitors the dosage and gets something clean, it would help? He'd never actually allow it though. With how hard he's trying to get Legend clean, he wouldn't risk another addict in the house.

Maybe it was fate!!! I'm also just picturing myself as a little critter madly typing away with worms in its brain and laughing

For writing reasons, here's an incomplete list of things that healthcare professionals have said/done to me over the years that haven't been helpful (I know it's their job and they're trying their best, these are just things you can put Sky through if you'd like):

- when I said how I get dizzy and my vision goes gray when I stand and my heart raced just sitting up in bed: "have you tried standing up slower?"

- in physio, made me do an exercise as an example but told me to keep going until I felt my knee joints grinding together and it hurt so bad it took weeks of rest for my knees to not hurt and there was sharp pain with every movement

- gave me free ibuprofen and ordered an xray when I had a joint pain flare-up so bad I could barely walk or sleep or eat for months

- "well the cold is tricky" when I told the physio person that despite doing the exercises, my pain was not improving and had the same flare-up triggers that'd be just as painful despite months of physio

- "what do you want me to do about it?" said by same person as the first, I think. After I listed everything that was bothering me

- after asking bluntly and offhandedly, with a parent in the room, if I had a clear plan and intention to kill myself and I stuttered, they said I'm not bad enough for access to any mental health resources they had. I was 12

- left out pretty important information on how to take a medication leading me to have a panic attack when something happened that the information sheet and doctor didn't mention, only to be told by a different doctor what to do

- "just don't take it then" and no other suggestions or advice when I was having bad side effects to a medication and was told 'if you have these symptoms, see your doctor immediately'

Of course, things like this are different depending on the person, my experiences are just my experiences and I'm sure plenty of people have had worse than me and had a different experience. Some of these may be me being petty- I'm lucky that I'm still able to semi-function well enough that I don't need to fight as hard as Time does for Sky. Or maybe I'm just tired of it and slowly walking down the path to burnout and a bigger flare-up by doing the bare minimum to manage it. Idk, but have some Brainrot anon lore XD I hope this helps, I may end up writing more projecting onto Sky at some point

Rock Bottom: Sky Drabble

Hi hi hi! Just dropping this here. Been sick alllll week and if I had to have a shitty time then so does Sky ❤️ And also Time, because dealing with anything medical is a pain in the ass

“-No, you’re not understanding. I don’t care what the test says, there is something wrong and you need to figure it out!”

“Sir, please. I looked at the results myself. There’s nothing in his bloodwork that indicates anything out of the ordinary-”

“Nothing out of the ordinary? I had to pick him off the floor this morning because he couldn’t stand!”

“Yes, I understand that-"

"Do you?"

"Yes, I do. Really, I do. I understand that you're concerned. But his bloodwork is-”

“I don’t care about the goddamn bloodwork!"

“Sir, please calm down-”

"If that test isn't showing anything wrong then do more tests."

"Sir, with all due respect, I don't believe more testing is necessary. His weight is slightly below average for his build - I think the weakness is just from poor diet and exercise. I can recommend a good dietician-"

"We don't need a dietician - we need a doctor who'll actually DO THEIR FUCKING JOB!"

Sky leans forward in his seat and rests his head on the edge of the doctor's desk, closing his eyes. All the yelling from the hallway is audible through the closed door and it makes his already aching head throb even more intensely. The cool wood is soothing.

Not as soothing as laying down would be, though. Sky knows Time is arguing for him, goddess knows why, but right now he wishes the man would just stop and drive them home instead. The chairs in the doctors office are uncomfortable and stiff, and sitting in them is making his bones ache.

Although, Sky is used to that. It's hard to remember a time when they didn’t ache. It’s more intense these days, but it’s been years since he’s known a day without pain. A few over the counter pain meds used to be enough to manage it. But these days it doesn’t make a dent. Add that to the sudden exhaustion and the long bouts of nausea, and Sky’s been feeling particularly pathetic these days.

Good days used to mean “tip top shape”. Now they mean he can eat without vomiting and walk without feeling like he’s going to black out.

Sky sighs into the desk. He really misses feeling good.

The door bursts opens with so much force that the doorknob dents the wall. Time storms back into the office, expression stormy.

Sky opens one eye. “Did they call security on us again?”

“Come on,” Time says, quickly gathering their things. “Get your coat on. We’re leaving.”

This is like the third dr office that Time has been kicked out from and he's not sorry.

A lot of young people with chronic illnesses have a hard time getting properly diagnosed. There's often a lot of "you're too young to be sick" mentality that they have to deal with. When you're young and look kinda healthy it can be really difficult to find a doctor who will take you seriously and do all the necessary testing.

That's what Sky is dealing with rn. In RB he doesn't have Sunny to bully his doctors so Time is helping him out now. They're finding out first hand how shitty it can be to go through the arduous process of hospital visits and jumping through hoops and going from dept to dept trying to find out exactly what's wrong.

Sky didn’t talk much these days. He didn’t want to. If you have nothing nice to say then don’t say anything at all, he remembered being scolded as a child. That sarcastic tongue had only become sharper the longer his condition wore on. He always felt way worse after lashing out at somebody, too.

He didn’t have to talk. The other boys that haunted this weird house ignored him no matter where he decided to crash, no matter if he was awake or half-dead. The occasional questions directed his way—“Do you mind if I put the TV on?” “Is this your cup or mine?”—were answered with noncommittal grunts. Once he found the kid with the ratty stoner hat pawing through his wallet and even then he didn’t bother using his voice. It was empty anyway.

Sometimes, he just couldn’t talk. Like the day he woke up to someone picking him up off of the ground, asking his name, if he knew where he was. He hadn’t had the energy then to answer, or to ask to be left alone, as he was carried inside someone’s house and propped up on their couch just long enough to get sick on their carpet.

Like this morning, when one moment he was brushing his teeth and feeling fine, and the next he was being rolled onto his side on the bathroom floor, a wastebasket shoved under his head because by now they knew what to expect of him.

But now, for some reason, the silence in the car was just too much. It felt too quiet compared to the bustle and fluorescence of the hospital, to all the rapid-fire questions he had to answer, to the long droning explanation of why his test results said he shouldn’t be feeling this way, to the explosiveness of Time’s voice beyond the closed exam room door. The quiet was so stark that it had pulled a band tight across Sky’s chest and was making it hard for him to breathe.

Time hadn’t said a word since they got into the car. He’d spent a moment collecting himself behind the driver’s seat before winding through the tight corridors of the parking garage toward its exit. Twenty-five rupees to park. Twenty-five rupees for four hours of their lives, several hundred rupees for a consultation fee, and how many thousands for tests, some of which Sky had done several times now.

All for nothing.

“‘M sorry.”

Time’s hand twitched on the steering wheel. If Sky noticed he didn’t show it, staring dully at the rain-soaked city that passed them by.

“Pardon?” Time asked. He sounded much more composed than he had in the office.

“I’m sorry,” Sky said, his lips pulling tight as he said it through clenched teeth. That band in his chest felt tighter, tighter, and now his eyes were beginning to itch.

“You have nothing to apologize for,” Time replied automatically. “What happened back there wasn’t your fault. That doctor was out of line.”

“No, I’m sorry that… I feel like this.”

Now, the quiet that filled the atmosphere was softer. Waiting. Sky curled in on himself a bit, taking handfuls of his coat and wrapping it more tightly about himself, holding himself together.

“I’m sorry I feel this way,” he repeated, his voice wet and miserable. “I don’t want to feel this bad, I don’t. But I can’t stop. Other people—“

He cut himself off, holding his breath, struggling to hold it all in: the pain, the shame, the anger, the fear, the empty-handed impotence of being helpless to one’s own failing body.

“Other people don’t feel like this.” Sky was losing the battle, his eyes and his nose were starting to leak. “But I can’t ever help it. And I’ve done everything the doctors have said. Everything. And I still— every day, I still— I can’t— I can’t get better—“

He could only dam the flood for so long, and Sky was tired. He was so, so tired. “I don’t think I’ll ever be better,” he cried, his words so garbled into his sleeves that Time probably couldn’t understand him at all, “but I don’t— I don’t want to feel this way anymore— I don’t—“ He was too tired to even feel ashamed as he sobbed in the passenger seat, hunched up and helpless as a turtle on its back.

He didn’t know when Time stopped the car, though he did hear the sound of the buckle undone. When the edge of a tissue box was tapped against his leg he blindly reached to pull several, crumpling them against his wet face. And when he felt a tentative hand on his shoulder Sky leaned right into it, heavy and exhausted. Warm arms encircled his shoulders as Time leaned awkwardly across the center console to embrace him.

“I know you don’t want to feel this way.” Sky could feel the words murmured against his shoulder and above his head. “You don’t deserve this, and none of this is your fault, so please don’t apologize.” Although it was becoming stifling between the scratchy fabric of Time’s wool coat and the humidity of Sky’s hiccuping sobs, he was so starved for compassion that Sky just buried his face in further, wound up so tight that he still shook like he was freezing.

“None of us want you to feel like this.” The way that Time said it made some of the tightness in Sky’s chest ease. “And I’m going to do everything I can to help you feel better.”

Sky was quiet for a long while after they left the building. It wasn't anything new or worrying, Time thought. He'd just been failed by the people paid to help. Again.

Personally, Time was still pissed off. Righteous anger buzzed through his body, his fists trembling with effort to not punch something. It took too long for him to calm down enough before he felt safe to drive. He should've noticed the guilty looks Sky shot him.

"Sorry." Time barely caught the whispered apology over the rumble of the engine. "You don't need to keep trying."

"What do you mean?" Time fought to keep his earlier frustration out of his tone.

"Maybe there's not a cure. Maybe I'm just broken, I dunno, just-" Sky sucked in a breath and released it shakily. "I'm sorry."

"You want to get better, don't you?"

"Of course I do," Sky almost sobbed, his voice wet and defeated.

"Then I'm going to find a doctor who can find out what's wrong and help you," Time stated simply. His eye stayed on the road.

Sky didn't respond. He stayed quiet long enough that Time thought he'd fallen asleep, until he heard a broken whisper as they turned onto their street.

"What if there's no getting better? So- so many doctors have told me... told me..." Sky loudly swallowed. "I don't know what I'm saying anymore. Sorry. I dunno why you care so much."

Time hummed. "Well, if you're staying in my house, it's logical to get you to a point where you can pay rent." He joked. Hylia, he's getting soft.

Sky didn't have anything to say to that.

When Time had parked, Sky was still wiping his tears, staring into nothing. Time sighed. He patted the younger man's shoulder and tried to give him a reassuring smile.

"Come on, let's go inside."

Sky doesn't fight against Time's hand on his shoulder, guiding him inside. Doesn't acknowledge when he nearly falls and Time catches him. He's just so fucking tired. Of his body. Of his situation. Of being tired. All. The. Fucking. Time.

He doesn't realise Time's carrying him until he's being set down on the couch. Even though it hurts his head, he quietly weeps into the pillows until he can't do anything but drift into a deep sleep.

Poor Sky is just too worn down to fight with doctors anymore. He does indeed need to be tucked in with a hot coco while Time goes nuclear on the incompetent staff. It's only a matter of time before he's taking Sky to see his own personal doctors because at least he knows they'll get the job done (Renado never thought he'd see the day where Time drops by without looking like a rabid dogs chew toy)

I'm sorry that you had to go through that. It truly sucks when the medical field lets you down. I'm hoping you get the care and consideration you deserve from now on

Hi hi hi! Just dropping this here. Been sick alllll week and if I had to have a shitty time then so does Sky ❤️ And also Time, because dealing with anything medical is a pain in the ass

“-No, you’re not understanding. I don’t care what the test says, there is something wrong and you need to figure it out!”

“Sir, please. I looked at the results myself. There’s nothing in his bloodwork that indicates anything out of the ordinary-”

“Nothing out of the ordinary? I had to pick him off the floor this morning because he couldn’t stand!”

“Yes, I understand that-"

"Do you?"

"Yes, I do. Really, I do. I understand that you're concerned. But his bloodwork is-”

“I don’t care about the goddamn bloodwork!"

“Sir, please calm down-”

"If that test isn't showing anything wrong then do more tests."

"Sir, with all due respect, I don't believe more testing is necessary. His weight is slightly below average for his build - I think the weakness is just from poor diet and exercise. I can recommend a good dietician-"

"We don't need a dietician - we need a doctor who'll actually DO THEIR FUCKING JOB!"

Sky leans forward in his seat and rests his head on the edge of the doctor's desk, closing his eyes. All the yelling from the hallway is audible through the closed door and it makes his already aching head throb even more intensely. The cool wood is soothing.

Not as soothing as laying down would be, though. Sky knows Time is arguing for him, goddess knows why, but right now he wishes the man would just stop and drive them home instead. The chairs in the doctors office are uncomfortable and stiff, and sitting in them is making his bones ache.

Although, Sky is used to that. It's hard to remember a time when they didn’t ache. It’s more intense these days, but it’s been years since he’s known a day without pain. A few over the counter pain meds used to be enough to manage it. But these days it doesn’t make a dent. Add that to the sudden exhaustion and the long bouts of nausea, and Sky’s been feeling particularly pathetic these days.

Good days used to mean “tip top shape”. Now they mean he can eat without vomiting and walk without feeling like he’s going to black out.

Sky sighs into the desk. He really misses feeling good.

The door bursts opens with so much force that the doorknob dents the wall. Time storms back into the office, expression stormy.

Sky opens one eye. “Did they call security on us again?”

“Come on,” Time says, quickly gathering their things. “Get your coat on. We’re leaving.”

This is like the third dr office that Time has been kicked out from and he's not sorry.

A lot of young people with chronic illnesses have a hard time getting properly diagnosed. There's often a lot of "you're too young to be sick" mentality that they have to deal with. When you're young and look kinda healthy it can be really difficult to find a doctor who will take you seriously and do all the necessary testing.

That's what Sky is dealing with rn. In RB he doesn't have Sunny to bully his doctors so Time is helping him out now. They're finding out first hand how shitty it can be to go through the arduous process of hospital visits and jumping through hoops and going from dept to dept trying to find out exactly what's wrong.

Pssssst... you know what'd be interesting is if shortly after arriving at the townhouse in the rbau Wars encounters a high Legend

TW: mentions of Volga and abuse in Wars' past (I figured I should put this here because uh this got heavy-)

Like Legend is Legend and idk what point in the timeline Wars arrives at but Legend's always a snappy little shit (affectionate) so imagine it from Wars' perspective. He's been defiled and abused and taken into a large intimidating house by the man who'd killed his abuser and threatened to kill him too. He's shaken and traumatised and probably doesn't even know what to think, just scared for his life. And in the house the stranger with a gun brought him to, there's some kid wandering around high as a kite and being snappy and secretive about it.

Poor guy's probably gonna assume the worst and experience whatever life or death reaction you choose. But I see him as possibly falling into the 'fawn' response because hear me out. He's been held captive before by Volga, who clearly had no qualms about bulldozing any boundaries and autonomy Wars had, and now he's been essentially held captive in this townhouse and doesn't know that Time hates himself for threatening Wars and keeping him there like that.

What if he sees Legend, a kid to him, on substances, as well as the rest of the residents are obviously traumatised, and he fears Time is another Volga? And what if he thinks that Time may want the same thing Volga wanted from him, so that's why he spared him, but Time's just waiting until Wars is healed enough to not warrant a hospital visit once he's done with him. What if he figures that if he just gives up, gives his body to Time, then maybe it'll hurt less and Time won't be as bad as Volga was

Trauma and abuse like that leaves a heavy mark on a person, and I don't know if it would manifest this way specifically with Wars and I apologise if I spoke about some things in an insensitive way

Thanks for the ask! I always love hearing from you! I'm not sure Wars would see Time as another Volga, though.

Wars is pretty good at reading people. He might have walked willingly into Volga's trap the first few times, but he was never under the impression Volga was safe. He just thought that was what he wanted. And by the time he knew how out of control it was, Volga had cut him off from his lifelines.

Yes, Time may have killed a few people and even threatened Warriors. But those people were actively hurting Wars. And Time was strict in that Wars wouldn't be hurt as long as he didn't reveal any of the Deity's secrets. Plus Time isn't even remotely interested in Wars sexually in this au, going as far as to tell Wars that he didn't want anything in return for him staying in the house. No forms of payment at all.

Volga, in that situation, would have taken the opportunity to force Wars into some truly heinous shit.

Those things alone would be enough to convince Wars that Time was relatively okay (or at least okay enough to live with temporarily). But the other boys would clear things up in a little more.

Yes, Legend is often high as fuck or grouchy from withdrawal. But he's not incapable of speaking for himself. In fact, he's very good at making himself abundantly clear. Wars would only have to have one conversation with him to realize Time was in no way keeping Legend like Wars was kept by Volga. Instead it's more like Legend is an angry alley cat Time is attempting to coax into a carrier so he can have him properly treated.

The same goes for most of the other boys - Wind is obviously a mostly normal kid with authority issues. Hyrule is an overworked worry wart with a decent head on his shoulders but no money in his pocket. Twilight is a good kid who means well that's just a tad bit naive and who's been hurt by rejection. Four is legitemetly fucked up but it'll be a little while before Wars even speaks to him properly. And by then he'll be able to tell that it wasn't Time who did anything.

Sky, who Wars met with during boot camp, is the biggest reason why Wars starts slowly trusting Time though.

In this au neither of them are friends - they met, but didn't quite for a meaningful connection before Wars dropped out. But even knowing someone who can personally vouch for Time puts a lot of Warriors worst fears at ease.

And Sky does vouch for Time. Time does a lot for him (that's an upcoming installment) and Sky can see for himself that Time is just trying to help whoever he can. Sky has also had a little while to talk to the other boys so he kind of knows their stories. He knows that Time is a well meaning man who's just bitten off more than he chew. Which he'd explain to Wars.

So Wars wouldn't treat Time like another Volga. He's wary of him (again - gun to temple leaves an impression) but soon enough Wars will start seeing what he can get away with. He won't break any of Times rules, but maybe he'll start with just a little snark. A little backtalk. Just a tad of sass. Just to see what he can get away with.

(That's just quintessential Warriors - he'll always be a sassy lil bitch)

Time is going to be both relieved and annoyed the first time Wars sasses him. Relieved, because Wars has stopped treating him like a loaded gun. Annoyed, because he's met enough Links by now to know the sass is only going to get worse. But he'll take it in stride because being disrespected by Wars is leagues better than being feared by him.

Love how Twi forgot that Dark is just as trained in languages as Time is, probably. If he was supposed to be his match, then its likely hes just as skilled in fighting, tactics and special ops.

Personally think hr only got messier after he left dragmire service, as now it's freedom to do things the fun way, not the efficient way.

Dark was a resourceful little shit when he was a kid and acted as an errand boy for less-savory 'businessmen' and fronts related to the Dragmire empire. As he proved his reliability and his ability to escape from tight situations unscathed, he was drawn farther and farther into Ganondorf's inner circles until the inevitable need for a dark hero arose. Dark was elated to have been chosen among those other young candidates for the title, at least in the beginning.

Dark is just as skilled and strong as Time is; however, where Time was Sheikah trained, Dark was pitted against Gerudo and Yiga and monsters like a fighting dog in a ring, and later against Ganondorf himself in order to prove his worthiness. The only coaching he got in such situations was simple: Survive, or don't.

It was his own strength, speed, and smarts that got him out of it alive. He picked up on the Gerudo language during his childhood work, then developed real fluency during his period of training and employ with Ganondorf. Aside from Gerudo, though, he doesn't know other languages as fluently. And Time doesn't know a lick of Gerudo at all.
