“langley gets a lot of praise for her female Lis, but i just...don't really see it? like yes, they get a decent amount of content in comparison to female Lis in other stories, but they're all completely useless to the plot. maria theresa, bonne, chloe, and lilian could all lift right out of VFV and 7B with no impact whatsoever. maria theresa's only point is giving a reason why renee can't marry louis, bonne has no point, chloe has her trial that you don't see any of if you're not on her romance path & that has no consequences at all even if you are, and lilian has no point.

i think she's just good at writing WLW sex. maybe give a female LI an actual meaningful role in a story for once, langley🤷🏻‍♀️”

I've been playing Vying for Versailles on repeat. And I'm sorry Bonne, but you have vastly misread what I'm looking for.

I came here for intrigue and power! I want to be the power behind the throne! Stop pulling me out of important events because you don't like them!

In some ways, I do think it reflects a healthy balance of LIs when there is one who profoundly doesn't do it for me. Because I'm sure someone out there thought, "Finally, let's run away to the countryside together!" I'm just not that person.
