About Rudy & his dad
I’m actually getting a better picture of who Rudy is on his friendship path than on his romance path. I now understand the complaints I’ve been seeing about him. On his friendship path, he comes across as really controlling and overbearing.
But, I think I know why he is that way.
This dad is totally up his ass. He criticizes everything about Rudy. His decisions, his looks, the people he’s with, and he does it front of Nadine.
If you don’t take the diamond scene to wake Rudy up, his dad goes up to wake him instead. As they both come down the stairs, Rudy is rubbing his cheek with the back of his hand. It looks like he’s just waking up… but I got the impression that his dad hit him. Not hard enough to leave a mark, but enough to wake him up and put him in a bad mood. It would also explain why Rudy’s on edge one minute and then stonewalls Nadine the next.
I think Mr. Brooks is jealous of Rudy because he has everything going for him. Talent, opportunities, success, popularity and recognition. So he berates everything about him to feel superior. He’s prob very intentional about what he looks like. Not a single crease or wrinkle.
Another red flag: When Mr. Brooks answers the door, he musses Nadine’s hair like she’s a little kid, but then he tells her she’s really growing up fast—which is borderline inappropriate and creepy. So maybe we have another narcissistic parent here.
Because Mr. Brooks feels like a wolf in sheep’s clothing to me, I think he’s actually working for Warlock. Nadine says he’s a psychiatrist, or something along that line, and treats Nadine’s mom’s migraines. I suspect he is part of Warlock’s research team, conducting experiments on people to study the effects of the hellebore. I also think he’s actually inducing Nadine’s mom’s migraines. Why? Idk, maybe she’s also an experiment.
Anyway, I think Rudy’s dad is a bad guy.
Darren & his dad
I also think Darren’s dad is involved with Warlock. It probably has to do with money. Darren even tells his teacher that science doesn’t make money. (Idk what he’s talking about 🤨) There’s some greed going on in his family. Maybe his dad sees Old Saintfour as an opportunity to cash in. What if the hellebore could be turned into a pharmaceutical? That’s big money right there. 🤔
I think Darren suspects his dad’s involvement and is independently fishing around for answers, which is why he was asking Dex about Old Saintfour. I also think Darren is the one who stole Nadine’s picture and had it at 4 Spins. (4… Sins? Hmm… envy, greed..)
About Warlock
The name Warlock really stood out to me. A male practitioner of witchcraft. Howard looks like Draco Malfoy, but that’s not important. The Masked Man from SOS1 could be considered a warlock. He ran a circus filled with people he tricked into becoming his freaks, used magic to change them with his masks.
Well, this is a more modern era. What if instead of a circus… the Masked Man’s cover is this research agency? I know there was a possible ending in SOS1 where you could kill the Masked Man. Warlock could simply be operating as the new Masked Man or… Could Howard somehow be a descendant of the Masked Man?
My guess is that Warlock is conducting experiments on people with the hellebore. Bowie believes it’s to turn the flower into a pharmaceutical. But maybe it’s not? The flower is changing the human subjects into monsters, just like that deer. Owls are the perfect test dummies because they’re the lowlifes of Saintfour. No one will care if one or ten go missing. Now Howard has discredited them on TV. No one will believe them if they say anything about Warlock or Old Saintfour.
If it’s not the pharmaceutical, then Howard is maliciously doing it in the name of “science” because he’s an evil psychopath like the Masked Man.
Or maybe I’m just spewing nonsense. 😅
