[ ✠ ] it’s three in the morning and my muse unexpectedly arrives at your muse’s home.

usually he had no trouble sleeping. he was one of those people who could sleep on concrete, in the middle of the day, with a concert going on beside him. but it had been a weird day, and the strange weather had been fucking with his energies. despite smoking and a drink to top it off, kapono still found himself unable to drift off. it resulted in lounging on the couch, reading a compilation of germanic myths and legends. he felt himself finally starting to relax, when a whisper of a knock drew his attention. it was so quiet, it was almost inaudible. checking his phone, there was no messages or texts from anyone, telling him they were coming over. he paused at the hall closet, slipping a nine-millimeter handgun into the back of his waistband. after all, someone showing up at his house this late, with his history... 

but his heart leapt at who was really at the door. it was a surprise, definitely. and made him immediately concerned. he wouldn’t be surprised at this from someone else, but from becca? it had to mean something was wrong, right?  “ come inside, ” he said immediately, his hand tender between her shoulder blades as he glanced around outside. he didn’t want becca to know about or worry about the gun. “ what’s wrong, becca? did something happen? ” he asked, immediately on edge and immediately worried and protective. “ c’mon. i’ll make some tea and we can talk. ”

♥ - Something they like about your muse.

there’s... a lot. there really isn’t much that kapono doesn’t like about becca. they are definitely from very different worlds, and exist in very different realms, but kapono doesn’t see that. he likes that becca never looks down on him for his past, and for his status. he likes how sweet becca is. he likes how funny she is. and he really like how smart she is. that was what really drew him to her, was the deep conversations they had. she doesn’t shy away from things, or rebuff him for thinking too deep about non-conventional things. instead, she goes along with it, and makes him think deeper. 

plus shes like... really, really pretty. 

✎ - A reason they’re jealous of your muse.

kapono won’t EVER admit it, and on some level he won’t even admit it to himself.... but a part of him is jealous how much family and support becca has. she’s close with her mother, and her brother, and has a niece that adores her. plus lots of friends that deeply care about her. kapono doesn’t have close family like that, and he really only has jonny. being polynesian, with so much value on family and community, kapono sometimes feels the absence of that, especially when he sees how connected becca is to the people in her life. 

♪ - A secret they’re keeping from your muse.

kapono isn’t shy about the time he’s served in jail. so more than likely, becca knows about that. however, because of the way he sees becca, and because of her job, kapono definitely has not told her or let on that he is still involved in quite a few less-than-legal enterprises. he doesn’t want to risk her opinion of him changing, or her looking at him differently, or distancing herself from him. it’s something he definitely thinks he can continue to keep secret.

♥ - Something they like about your muse.

uhhh…. everything. but mostly they love how kind becca is. and how strong. jaxon is constantly in awe of her and her resilience. she’s been through hell and back, and she still manages to be sweet, and soft, and caring. no one would blame her for being jaded and angry. but becca is the sweetest person jaxon knows. and he absolutely worships her.

“ i think i’m havin’ a crisis, becks, ” jaxon said with no preface or greeting as he sat across from her in their favorite diner. they had lunch here a couple times a week, when their shifts lined up. the furrow in jaxon’s brow made it obvious something was bothering him. “ oh, by th’ way, how’s yer bother doin’? haven’t seen him around. ”

born and raised in las vegas, rebecca is the youngest daughter of her parents, having only an older brother – gavin –  who has constantly been her source of support throughout her life.

following the family footsteps, rebecca knew she would be meddled in a law enforcement kind of career. her mother is a criminal lawyer, her father is the chief of the police and her brother is in the navy (deployed for months at a time, leaving his five year old daughter to the care of his sister when it comes to it).

while growing up, rebecca was the kind of book geek. she would befriend anyone on her way, but she did love the company of books, her favorite subjects were always a little bit morbid. serial killers, horror stories. she wasn’t the normal kind of girl.

when time came, she graduated from high school and moved away to attend the best universities in the country. with that, she was able to live in new york and boston, preparing to take the spot of forensic pathologist whenever she was able to get back home.

with her mother growing sick, rebecca took a halt in her studies and came back home two years early (two years ago), which she picked up school in las vegas, while having a stable job because of her father.

two years ago was also the time when there was a serial killer case surrounding las vegas and working in forense, rebecca came in close contact with the deceased victims, but she never imagined she would become one herself.

one night, one year ago, the man entered her apartment and kidnapped rebecca, keeping her in a small cabin in the middle of nowhere. the man was well off in the city, a high member of mafia and he did unspeakable things to rebecca out of pleasure. every day, the woman wished she would just die and whenever it would feel as such – more pain. she was being looked for and a fbi detective who had taken upon her case finally did. he saved her and her kidnapper received death roll.

rebecca got off work for several months, treating herself as she became scarred not only mentally, but physically after the abuse she suffered. to this day, she still suffers from ptsd, consisting of terrible nightmares, bad reactions to some sounds, overly protection of herself and not feeling safe at all. however, as usual, she is determined to not let it be the end of her – not let it be her tragedy as no one really knows who she is because her identity was always protected. she still fears the man will find a way to be free, or to escape prison, but she tries to remain as optimistic as she has always been.
