I am freaking out!!!

So, at the end of the interview, Max said he had a gift for Daniel. I expected it to be something silly, like an inside joke or something.

Boy, was I wrong.

Max pulls out a tin canister, which appears to have the Dutch flag on it and hands it to Daniel with a nervous/sad look on his face. Daniel takes it, opens it...

And I was not expecting what it was.

Max gave Daniel a candle that smells like a go kart track. He remembered that Daniel loved the smell of two-strokes and made him a candle that smells like it. I could be wrong about the fact that he made it but that broke my heart. Max truly loves Daniel (as can be seen throughout the interview) and is sad to see him go.

TL;DR: Max gave Daniel a candle that smelled like a go kart track.
