He's in a rush, already feeling late despite the fifteen minutes he'd allotted himself earlier, peeling off scrubs in a rush an replacing them with clothing that had been adorn hours before. An interview had been set up, a part time job he'd managed to sneak behind his father's back despite the man's attempts to sway him to focus upon his studies rather earning money. Of course, his father had good sense, as per usual, and a part of Jimin knew he was right. He didn't need anymore distractions in his life, especially with his faltering grades ( another thing he'd avoided telling the man ) being a factor, but he knew he couldn't depend on his father for money forever and he needed the work experience under his belt, even if his future had already been paved out before him.
A quick glance is tossed to the nearest analog clock, resting above pasty colored lockers. Damn. He needed to hurry, being late wouldn't look good, especially when he'd put ' timely ' on his resume. Tongue clicks against the roof of his mouth, bag grabbed from locker an tugged over shoulders, proper footwear placed on as well before he slams the locker closed, muttering a quick apology to those he'd caused to jump with the abrupt action. Quick on his feet, Jimin rushes from the room an into the hallway, sneakers causing a faint squeak along the marble floor, along with a black skid mark, earning a few chides from the janitor that had just cleaned Jimin finds himself once again apologizing, body half way turned as he continues on with his fast paced walk, an head bowing a few times more. Even in a rush he found it hard to act unkindly to others.
Surroundings are given little to no attention, flesh of cheek bitten into as he quickens his pace, making sure not to run in front of others, or in the main hospital wing in front of the waiting patients, the last thing he wanted to do was given the hospital a bad name or some how causes the reputation of severance hospital to go down the drain with foolish actions. Sadly, despite his pure intentions, Jimin finds himself slipping into the waiting room, the culprit being an untied shoelace - undoubtedly an somewhat comically so, that would lead him to bump into a nearby gurney ( thankfully with no one on it ) an find himself stuck. The chain of a necklace, one that had been his mothers once upon a time, an something he'd desired to adorn for luck on this particular day, had undeniably manged to tangle it's with a side metal bar. a sharp hiss of frustration only spilling outwards when he attempts to stand to his full height only to feel strain brought to the small chain, which in turn only lulled him to lean forwards once more. Great. As if he wasn't going to reek of the hospital already.
"Having trouble?" A voice filters outwards, tone soft if not concerned, the warmth of a frame lingering close felt along the side. Jimin scrunches his nose, head lifting the best it could as he released a seemingly frustrated an exasperated sigh, "....does it look that bad?" A rhetorical question, lips pursing as digits go to attempt to tug the chain away. Normally he'd take his time with such matters but he was feeling pressured to simply take the damn thing off an leave in order to make it on time. Alas, the more sentimental part of him found such thoughts far to harsh, insisting he stay even if he found himself walking in an thirty minutes late. " Let me help." The voice speaks once again, surely assessing the situation from their point of view an finding a solution, " First, take it off, it'll make it easier." Jimin nods, listening, an reaching along his neck to unclasp the tiny hook. A thick swallow is granted, brow furrowed as he leans away, phone retrieved from his pocket to glance at the time.
The helpful stranger must have caught his movement, " in a rush?" The next question is the only indicator of such. Jimin nods once more, hand going to rest along the back of his neck, digits drumming lightly along his nape as the stranger knelt to free the chain, " Mmm, yeah...I am..I should probably slow down." Admittedly it'd been all his fault, another glance tossed downwards this time focusing upon the pesky shoelace that had caused the trouble in the first place. Kneeling downwards, phone shoved back into his pocket, Jimin goes to tie the lace, making sure to keep it tight this time. When a gold chain swings into view he finds himself smiling, gaze veering upwards as he takes the piece of jewelry with gratefulness, " Ah, thank you, seriously. Thank you so very much." Jimin stands fully now, giving the item a final glance, thumb brushing over the quaint design of a sparrow before placing the necklace into his pocket instead - not willing to face another incident.
With a turn on his heel an a few more thank you's tossed in the strangers direction he goes to head out, pausing only at the door to shift his frame half way, " Ah, I don't know you but, I'll defiantly repay you for this! Maybe not today or the next, but I defiantly deeeefiantly will!" A grin spreads upon his lips, a quick wave granted to the one that'd been his ' savior ' for the day before he decides it's proper for him to take off once more. It was such random acts of kindness that lead him to believe in the kindness of others.

Air is pulled through clenched teeth, jaw set as a subtle burn resides in his throat, legs are crossed, a bottle of soju placed off to the side - half empty, set beside the other two that had yet to be opened ( just yet ). In front of him sits Yoona, holding up a short glass with an eager expression, cheek painted a light pink as she waits for another shot to be poured. Ah. Had someone asked Jimin what he was doing later this night, never would he have guessed, much less told whomever, he’d be downing shots with Im Yoona. It felt a tad surreal, this woman was someone to be idolized, admired from afar rather up close - especially in such close proximity, she was defiantly picture perfect, even up close.Reaching over he grasps the opened bottle, tilting it just enough to pour a proper amount, the corners of his mouth twitching upwards at the action, ” You know the rules, I’ll tell you one truth an two lies, if you guess wrong you spin four times, an take your shot - if you guess right, I take two.” as if to reassure her she had a chance of winning two shot glasses are filled to the brim, placed off to the side in case, not at all feeling confident in himself, it was no surprise he’d already lost a couple times, she was surprisingly good at reading his expressions. Jimin squints, head feeling a tad woozy, but nothing he couldn’t handle for now, before setting the bottle back down, joining the others.
A childish drinking game had ensued. Something that had been made up as an excuse to stay a bit longer, to laugh a bit louder when drunken stumbles occurred. A small escape from reality, he told himself, something he shouldn’t be indulging in. Alcohol was bad, an addiction that could grow to powerful when presented to someone with such a weak tolerance. Ah. He should slow down after this, find a new hobby in order to clear his mind, a new indulgence to abuse.
" I got it, I got it. " Her soft voice flows outwards, a rather confident grin working it’s way upon pink lips as she stares him down. Dark orbs would narrow in challenge, snort ensuing as front denticle bite along a bottom lip, Jimin nods, " Ah, alright - when I was four I tripped an fell into a creek, I’ve eaten raw squid before, and I’m planning to go bungee jumping sometime this month." A single digit trails along the rim of a glass, a short laugh spilling outwards, parting tiers as Yoona narrows her gaze upon his face, as if trying to distinguish lie from truth. " Squid….I’m going to go with the squid." She nods firmly, affirming her choice with a wide smile. Wrong. He can’t hold it back, the spill of loud almost boasters laughter, practically falling back at the sheer force of it. The face he’s presented with is mixed with disappointment, annoyance, an just all together loss.
Tongue clicks to the roof of her mouth an Jimin shifts his weight upon the floor, elbows pressing to thighs as his chin goes to rest along palms, a few snickers of laughter escaping here an there as he waited. Yoona goes to stand, grumbling to herself, bottom lip jutting out the slightest bit as she wobbles, making the effort to spin four times before tossing the shot back, a hiss escaping pink tiers as mumbles fall forth, ” gross…who eats raw squid…..disgusting…” Jimin grins, a cheeky expression filtering over features as a shrug is granted, ” It was a dare, when I was thirteen.” He grasp for one of the filled glasses, eyeing it for a moment before tossing it back - for the hell of it.

Lids sink half mast, digits grasping a slick glass. Oh. He'd spilled half of his shot, brow furrowed in irritation, concentration given in order to hold still the glass he now held up to receive another pour of liquor. Disgusting. In-taking alcohol during times of doubt or whimsical fancy was a horrid habit to have but, with the encouragement brought forth via the latter sitting across from him he tosses another back, a congratulatory pat graced upon his back. The pat was probably bestowed a bit to hard because in the next moment he finds himself coughing, the burn of the liquor stinging his throat more than it usually did going down. He's been tricked, somewhat , dragged from his place of study an to a bar that doesn't seem to have the decency to check one's ID no matter how young they may be or look.
Reasons behind why he, of all people, had been called out, taken to this place that served as a drunken refuge for most, by the elder male was beyond him. Jimin has yet to ask, an inquiring in the near future doesn't seem rather plausible, especially with the way he sways upon the bar stool he'd taken perch. The other had to have his reasons, be it a whimsical decision, bad day at work, or maybe a rough patch in his life - ah, well, whatever it was Jimin wasn't really complaining, aside from the occasional whine that would filter through his lips every time the latter would order another round of shots for the two. Gods, how long would this continue? He was only five shots in an he was already feeling like throwing up, Jimin knows he should quit while he's ahead, an partially sober - but the thought of giving up halfway, when his Hyung seemed so intent of continuing on, didn't seem to quite settle well with him. Like hell he'd lose.
Air is puffed into cheeks the second another shot is slid over in his directions. Don't throw up. Dark orbs blur for a moment, hand extending outwards to take the short glass, "You feeling sick? you look a little....green." A snicker of laughter falls from the latter's lips, a mild observation made at Jimin posture, the coloring of his face fading temporarily at the thought of having to toss another back. It wasn't that he didn't like drinking it was the after effect he was dreading, the drunken slurs mixed with the need to cling onto the nearest object while whines fell from his throat repetitively like some type of broken record. Not to mention the potential hangover, oh, how could he forget that. Didn't he have class the next day? "s..shut up, hyung - I got t-this.." A hiccup follows, a dismissive hand waved in the direction of the elder male as glass is brought to his lips, head tossed back along with the liquor in his throat.
Was this some type of drinking game? Shot after shot after shot, serving no purpose but to see whom could reign victorious in some type of barbaric exchange. Is this what older brothers made their younger siblings indulge in when free time allotted? The tip of his tongue presses to the corner of his mouth, a heavy taste of liquor present, another reminder he'd be shitfaced the next day. " Another round." A soft glare is tossed to the other, Jinyoung insist on killing him. Well, damn. Screw it - it wasn't like he had an exam or anything tomorrow, just a review over anatomy or some shit - maybe. He wasn't quite to sure now that alcohol had replaced all the rational thinking in his veins, his mind filtering with random thoughts rather biomolecule structures. When the next round is presented to him Jimin could almost feel his liver frown, the poor organ was defiantly getting a workout tonight. The clicking of glass to glass earns a raised brow, a quick cheers given before the liquor is tossed back once more - the burn stinging a little less.
Another hiccup falls forth, forehead pressing against palm as elbow presses to counter. Dammit, he was going to puke. Air once more is brought into cheeks, anything to distill the overwhelming urge to upchuck onto the bar floor. With the last bits of his strength an possible sanity Jimin stands, an abrupt motion made under the pretense of a horrible not well thought out decision that soon brought him ass first upon the ground. ".. hyuuuuuung....the floor.....I'm just going to - stay here......right...here... " A soft pat is granted to the gradient, hiccup causing his chest to jump. In his mind it seemed the most plausible decision, the room spinning, ambient lighting only causing him to squint more an more. When the latter burst into a fit of laughter hand extended to offer itself in aid, Jimin blatantly refuses, slapping the extended extremity away, " - nah....naaaaah. just give me...mys-shots down here...." palm presses against sunken lid, lips pursing outwards as a whine filters in his throat, " I see stars - "

It must hurt.
Obvious, in the way she cradles her knees to her chest, back shaking with broken sobs that seem to tear through the surrounding area. No one is in sight. Who had made her this way? A sting resides in his chest, a mild burn building alongside at the thought of another bringing pain upon someone who deserved nothing more than to smile. Digits curl inwards, fists formed along his sides, brow furrowing in frustration if not irritation brought up from the mere thought. Hyejeong was kind, despite her somewhat mischievous nature that'd shown itself from time to time, she didn't deserve such sadness, such pain to spill along the curve of cheeks, momentarily staining flesh with it's wet trail.
He wonders, when was the last time a sorrow filled wetness had fallen from his eyes? Was it to far in the past to recall, or maybe he didn't wish to recall it. Such pain, such hurt, a feeling a rush of emotion swelling over one's body an controlling them in such a way it brought forth tears - It seemed like a weakness, some type of indicator one had grown to tired to hold their pain back, but was it weak? It took much for one to find admittance in their own pain, in their own ache, wouldn't it be deemed strong? Such thoughts drift through his mind, a brief escape from the reality before him as features pan away from the sight.
Comforting others had always been something he'd been blessed with, a gift one could say, becoming a soft voice, a ear, a lent shoulder to lean upon when needed. It was something he'd prided himself in, more than anything he'd wanted those around him to be happy an remain as such. Was that to selfish for him to desire? Mild hesitation comes in approaching the distraught female, not out of fear he may not be able to comfort her but simply because he was afraid he may disrupt her ' alone ' time, her time to absorb the sorrow herself. Jimin knows there are times one must deal with their own pain before sharing it with others, such time to be spent to reflect on what brought on said pain in the first place or whom had. Footsteps remain light, taken a few at a time in order to test out how close he could approach before the female stopped him.
A delicate hand raises, shaky, pressing against the side of his leg, granting a soft shove - not in order to push him away but in a way that allowed her to affirm someone was there, that he was there. Jimin kneels, coming down to Hyejeong's height, hand going to rest against the females back, soft pats ensuing. "Noona - " His tone is light, hesitant in continuing his words but deciding to do so when a tearful glance is given, sobs still escaping pink lips, "I don't know why you are crying but....I do know that whatever it is...it's not worth running such a face, you look like a puffed peach..." A short laugh falls forth but instead of earning a laugh from the other he earns a few choked sobs an a firm pinch against his side along with the sobbed mumbling of ' idiot ' . With a huff of air Jimin smiles sheepishly, " ah...ahah..bad joke...." he goes to rub his side, with a single appendage goes to wrap around slender shoulders, " Oh.....what if I sing for you...or something - mmm..." He's trying, that's what counts, right?
With a clearing of his throat Jimin opens his mouth to sing, or well he was about to until he catches Hyejeong shaking her head from the corner of his eye, ' Please d.don't ' another choked sob. Lips purse in dissatisfaction, a snort following as he pats her shoulder, " Yah....I have a nice voice....I could have been an idol, bigger than you - tsk." He's grown unknowingly huffy, lip curling in the slightest, " You'd be the one out in the audience shouting Jimin look at me ~ but will I? Nah, I'll look at the other beautiful Noona who will want my autograph, I'd be a big deal - tch" Jimin makes a horrid attempt at mimicking her tone, chin tilting upwards just a fraction before his head turns to the side, brow furrowed. Laughter spills forth, parting pink lips as the noise is rasped an produced alongside a few more sobs. Tears readily spill forth from the corners of eyes, running down the soft flesh of the female's cheeks. Ah. It'd been brief but it'd been a laugh, something small, but a laugh nonetheless.
The corners of his mouth twitch, dark hues flickering back over to the female who seems to be only crying harder than before, " ah-ah....N..noona...you really do look like a peach...more like a dried one bu-" Words are cut off with a sharp smack to the back of his head, a hiss parting his lips, soft glare tossed in the females direction as she repeatedly tosses ' idiot ' in his direction, another smack to be felt near the same spot of the last. " Yah....I get it..I'm an idiot, keep this up an I'll be the one crying - " a hand reaches upwards, rubbing the offended area, now sore, as an opposite hand goes to pat the female's shoulder. He'd stay, until she stopped crying an found the proper words to vocalize why she'd been so upset.

A damp cloth is withdrawn from the sleeping females forehead, placed back into the now lukewarm water. Ah. He'd be sure to change that later, for now his focus was shifted to the one partially sprawled across her bed, dark orbs veering over her frame, temporarily resting along the rise an fall of her chest, observing the way it fell at a normal pace. The corners of his mouth twitch, her sleeping face was a bit adorable, to be expected from such a face. Jimin shifts his weight upon a chair that has been pulled up to her bedside - why had she called him to come help? Maybe it was nothing more than entrusting the fact he had prior knowledge in the medical field or maybe she simply had no one else to call. He wonders, thoughts drifting away for a brief moment as digits go to brush the smooth surface along the side of the bowl his gaze now rested on.
How pleasant it was, the feeling that resided in his chest. A feeling that had been brought out via the thought that someone had decided to depend on him for something an he was no longer facing the opposite, at least for now. Dark orbs flicker back to sleeping features the second a soft groan part pink lips, small beads of sweat building up along flesh, perspiration no doubt due to the fever she'd been running when he'd arrived. How lucky he'd been to have a free day, to be able to drop what it was he'd been planning within seconds. Hm, he was always like this wasn't he? One to come to the aid of others without a second thought, without asking for something in return - selflessly sacrificing his own precious time on earth to waste it with whomever had made the call for his assistance. Most would deem him foolish but he'd found it endearing, to say the least, he rather enjoyed being depended upon. It defiantly beat depending on others.
His frame shifts closer, hand going to his forehead, an opposite going to press against her own. Ah, he didn't bring a thermometer and waking Yein wasn't questionable, the poor girl had just fall into a much needed rest - old methods would just have to do for now. Lids sink low, half mast, as he attempts to measure and compare temperatures with nothing but the use of his palm. A hum settles in his throat, hues settling upon soft features, " ...it's going down..." Jimin murmurs, smile soft in his appearance spreading a tight lipped expression. If it continued to drop he'd take his leave, wanting to stay for the worst, in case she'd grew sicker. It was no secrete between the two the female suffered from anemia, her immune system weakened from such a ailment. " Silly girl, I told you to be careful - " Another murmur is spewed, a soft chide given despite the female not being able to hear. Did anyone ever listen to his chides? He was going to be a doctor, granted in another eight years plus two years of residency, but a doctor ' soon ' nonetheless. Jimin snorts, shifting his weight to stand, only to pause when the feeling of a weak grasp along his sleeve garners his attention. Hues veering downwards catch sight of slender digits pulling along the sleeve of his coat. How cute. "....don't leave." A weakened tone spills forth, long lashes fluttering along delicate features struggling to open despite the oh so tempting desire to remain closed. His smile stretches a bit more, weight distributed more towards bed in order to bring himself just a tad closer. Reaching over he can easily grasp a slender wrist, placing it to rest along Yein's upper abdominal, " I won't leave until you are feeling oooooone huuuundred percent ~ " a soft pat is pressed to the top of the female's head, smile growing an lulling lips to part, revealing pearly whites.
His words must have eased her mind, if just a little, a delicate frame already breathing out a slow sigh of content if not relief. It was cute. Ah, he'd always wanted a younger sibling, someone to look up to him, someone he could possibly lead during times of misdirection - having a younger sister wouldn't be so bad. Reaching over once more Jimin takes hold of blankets, tugging them upwards to rest just bellow Yein's collar bone. She needed to keep warm, cozy, as she slept. Rest would be her best friend until this sickness passed. Another hum would settle in his throat, glance tossed to the water, presumed cold, once more before returning to rest along Yein's features - he'd replace it later, once she was fully back into her state of rest. With a tugging of his sleeve Jimin reaches over, patting away beads of sweat along smooth flesh,
There was a slight drumming his ears - blood rushing to his head, causing him to grow mildly dizzy. Thankfully he’d been sitting, elbows pressed against the cool surface of a counter, dark orbs glued to the back of Sung Kyung would had turned away after a conversation had gotten a tad to deep. Bringing forth a discomfort, tension feeling the air in a most unpleasant way. It’d been dumb of him, to inquire about her past, to even open his mouth in the first place - he realizes this now. The silence, normally a more comforting one, has grown almost deadly. As if daggers were piercing his throat he suddenly becomes tight lipped , front denticle biting down upon a supple bottom tier, his gaze finally casting to the side.
’ Stop talking ’
The warning had been made moments before, yet he’d pressed on. Brow furrowing in frustration, the strew of questions falling from his lips as if he’d been an attorney and Sung Kyung a vital witness on the stand. As if she was someone he was meant to judge. He’d made another mistake in doing so. He’d judged her. Had questioned her past decisions, bringing forth his own examples, feeling like the more self righteous of the two he’d offered the dumbest thing of all. In his mind he’d wanted to fix her, wanted to aid her in becoming a better person. Laughable, as if she was one to be fixed. Sung Kyung was a hard shell to crack an for a moment, no matter how seemingly brief he’d thought just maybe he’d cracked her. Had figured her out. Yet, instead in getting closer to her he’d opened up an even bigger mystery.
’ Stop acting like you know everything. ‘
It was then he’d swallowed thickly a lump that had begun to form in his throat. The knife in her hand had been gripped so tightly knuckles had turned white. Still, he’d pressed forth, urging her to open up a tad more, desiring to know more, to understand more - but what was there to understand? Would he ever truly understand the strong willed woman he’d begun thinking of as a friend, someone close, someone to perhaps…..rely on? His gaze had flickered down, a mumbled ’ sorry ’ cast under his breath, but it’d been to late for that and he’d done something that could not be revoked with a measly apology such as that.
' shut up - ‘
Words had fallen from rosey lips, tone hushed despite the sternness, the venom lacing each syllable. Jimin had always been told a woman’s heart was a mystery, a cavern with no ends only further depths to be explored. He’d never taken his fathers words seriously until now, Until faced with what was before him. For back then he’d thought his father to simply be rattling on about useless information - lord knew the man wasn’t quite up to par with anything that wasn’t medical related an that alone had been another reason why Jimin had simply shrugged it off. Now he regrets not listening to the rest of what had been said back then.
" How…can you expect anyone to get close to you - if you keep closing yourself off like that…bottling everything up only causes more pain in the long run. You’re acting ridiculous. ” He’d snapped, perhaps a bit to harsh in his tone, dark orbs veering over narrowly to land upon the woman’s frame once more. Slender shoulders tense, no, not because she’s off-put by what had been said but because Jimin had the audacity to say it in the first place. A blade is stuck harshly into the counter, a rather firm ’ thud ’ resounding in the kitchen. ” Get out, and before you try to fix someone else go fix yourself. ” Words are spat, a single appendage raising to allow index finger to show him to the door - as if he were a child in need of proper direction.
A snort, one far from amusement, is audible. ” My point - made. ” It’s rare from him to find himself growing angry, hurt, or bitter, but - even those feelings weren’t foreign to him. Hurt, was exactly what he was feeling, the main instigator behind his words, behind is actions. He stands abruptly, grabbing for his coat that had been hung along the back of the chair he’d taken seat at. ” Bitterness gets you nowhere, Sung Kyung.” As if he was one to talk. If anyone was feeling bitter right now it was him, along with a tibit of feeling butthurt over the fact she’d actually asked him to leave. ” You aren’t as strong as you let on - ” A sigh leaves his lips parting them as he forces arms through the sleeves of his coat, ” - you are weak, just like the rest of us. “
" Just go - leave. “
There is bitterness in her tone. No ache of hesitation. Ah. It must be so easy for her to get rid of those that cared, to shut herself off from those seeking her presence. Knowing this lulls forth a sting of regret, regret for his invasive inquiries , for his words tossed so carelessly. ” - I’m leaving. ” A bitter laugh fall from betwixt lips, foots not in the least heavy as he heads towards the main door of her apartment, ” and honestly, I don’t want to come back. Your pretty damn good as pushing people away - congrats.” Grasping for the doorknob he sees himself out, denticle biting on the inside of his cheek. He’d held her in to high of regards. Placed her upon a pedestal as if she could do nothing wrong - oh how wrong he’d been.
The sudden urge to spill forth what bile resided in the pits of his stomach was far to strong - but for the most part he keeps it down, stiffening it with a subtle gag. Flesh pales, beads of sweat forming along his brow as digits grasp tightly along a metal bar that connected to the gurney that was currently being ushered down into the OR. In his other hand resides the manual pump of a BVM, oxygen is urged into small failing lungs, blood trickling down upon the marble floor as the gurney is urged in between opened elevator doors. Third floor they needed to get to the third floor. Being short of hand of all days Severance Hospital had been the first choice, the closest at the time of the accident.
An all to familiarity of the scene playing out before him causes the back of his head to throb. It’d been a car accident, both parents sitting in the front, already being given administrative care, their child that had been in the back thrown from the car from the sheer force of the rear end impact. Sitting still the mother of the child had been leaning back to help her daughter buckle her seat-belt properly. It’d been abrupt, an accident in every sense, the driver of the assaulting vehicle suffering from a few minor injuries but surely soon to be suffering from rather high bills an lawsuits. The child was only ten years old. A year older than he’d been during his own accident. Seeping with crimson a gash along her jawline promises to leave a nasty scar upon delicate features. Flesh is skinned along her right side, where the child had slide across concrete, smearing pieces of he existence along pavement.
For the most part the girl seems to be holding on strongly, the only issue he can fathom from it all is the child can not breath on her own. It was part of the reason, aside from the obvious, that he ( a lowly intern ) had been ushered into aid with transporting the child to the OR successfully. He doubts, more like hopes, they do not make the quick decision to allow him into the operating room. Jimin was far from ready, nerves already piling one on top of the other. The flash of memory of what had happened last time he’d been allowed in the OR causing his gut to churn in a most unpleasant way. His nerves were already shot. Heart pounding away in his chest as he made sure to keep up the correct tempo of the manual pump, easing oxygen in an out of the young girls lungs.
Dark orbs would flicker to the side, hands already covered in crimson from helping with the shifting of the child’s weight onto a more suitable gurney upon her arrival. It’s unnerving, shaking him to the core. It was as if looking into the past. Had he been like this too? Body un-responding, orbs blank as a light is flashed into pupils searching for dilation, for life? He swallows thickly, biting down upon his tongue so harshly it lulls for a iron taste. “We got it from here - ” The rest of the medical staff has arrived, hands taking over the position his own had been in as he’s ushered away. There is no disappointment in knowing he’s been relieved of his duty. None at all. Only relief comes in knowing no life would be in his hands. He was still weak. Yes, the same weak an naive child he’d always been. Had he even changed since then?
Ah. Here it comes. He feels the contents of his stomach lurch forth to spill onto marble. Weak. Pathetic. Child. A shudder racks his spine, throat burning as palms press against the smooth surface of the nearest wall, digits soon curling inwards. Lids sink shut, tightly closing as he sucks in a sharp breath. A pat granted to his back has him flinching, head snapping over his shoulder to catch the gaze of his fathers dearest an closest friend, and his sometimes mentor, Wonbin. There is a look of concern that crosses his features, evident the man hadn’t witnessed the scene nor heard news about the accident beforehand. The only indication that something may be wrong is the image of the crumbling, usually smiling boy, before him. ” Want to talk about it?” His voice is soft, softer than normal an more so inviting.
Yet - Jimin shakes his head, an ache in his chest causing his features to scrunch. He was still afraid. Afraid of screwing up, afraid of taking chances, of facing the risks that came with taking said chances. An in that fear he’d come to realize he was nothing more than the child those around him had simply teased him about. The man before him had always done nothing more than look after him, helping him from the time he was ten till the age now. Yet, hearing the man’s words of help, comfort offered as if he was in need of coddling stirs a bitter feeling in his gut. A bitterness, unlike any other rises, his brow furrowing to the point of his features wrinkling, ” ….go away….” his voice is steady, stern as a hand goes out to dismiss the elder, ” - I’m not a child….that needs comfort….just go away. ” There is a hiss under his breath.
Actions often spoke louder than words. Jimin was not hurt physically but he was feeling pain more so mentally, along his pride, stirred forth but an abrupt bitterness. Pushing away from the wall he shifts away from where the man stood, features rather impassive, no amusement or true reaction to the younger males words to be seen. Truth be told Jimin was acting like a brat who had been scolded, only the scolding had yet to come, but it he wanted so badly to be treated like an adult than surely Wonbin would allow him such satisfaction. With a look feigning disappointment the man moves away from the younger, gaze fixing on his profile as he passes,
" Stop wallowing in self pity and get over it. You seem more like kid now more than ever.”
