Someone on Reddit basically said that Ariel Sharon decided to withdraw from Gaza in 2005 because he wanted to “undermine peace” and was “spooked” by the possibility of a 2-state solution, according to his senior advisor Avigdor Yitzhaki. I really don’t know anything about this, so could you explain what really happened?

I and everyone on the internet has zero idea about ariel sharon's personal thoughts. We only have what he said. And more importantly, what he did.

Namely, disengage from gaza and alow the palis a chance to build a state. What they did was elect hamas who turned it into a terror base.

It’s just a press release, so it doesn’t go into detail about how the DOJ intends to ensure that (and therefore cannot be evaluated for reasonableness and likelihood.) But imagine what it would be like to have a president and attorney general who didn’t support bodily autonomy and didn’t want to preserve as many options as they could.
