hi, some of you have asked me to explain why i put read time in the bio of my fics.
i have some form of adhd/add, not sure which one yet but i struggle staying focused. no hate to long fic writers, but i personally just do not have the attention span for a 4k+ piece of writing. 3k is my limit if i’m pushing it.
I really enjoy shorter things that are easier for me to grasp the concept of. I also tend to read before bed, and I dont want to waste my night reading (it’s not a waste, i’m just a tired person all the time and need my sleep)
So that is why I write shorter fics and have read times at the top. I have access from the most basic word count website (literally the first one that came up when i googled word counter) and it gives me a reading time.
I suggest other writers to add this on to their fics too! Even if some people don’t care, it’s still an interesting fact about the story.
Remember, short fanfictions doesn’t mean bad fanfictions!
