It was a hideous time, my life, before you came along
Every1 who knew me treated me bad & treated me wrong
Or they ignored me all together bcuz I just didn’t matter
Day by day I became even more broken; even more tattered
But then you came around & you loved me
I didn’t know it then, but you did it w/ toxicity
You knew from day 1 there’d be a day you’d leave me behind
Lost & confused w/ a desperate need to cry
Weep & wonder what I did to screw it all up
How did I lose the 1 angel who gave me love
But then all of a sudden you were back once more
Making my deceived heart even happier than before
& then again, out of nowhere, you were gone
It felt like only a day, it really didn’t take long
I’m hard to love, sure I’ll accept & admit that
But you still cared enough to trick me into believing it wasn’t fact
I think I always knew you’d leave again bcuz I really never changed
So how could you have decided I gave you a reason to stay
But you come back each time you leave
& that’s why I love being naive
Bcuz I look @ it like you love me bad, but you love me nonetheless
You’ll toss me in the trash but then you second guess
You don’t hold on tight, but you never quite let me go
You come back to me so you can escape, yes, I know
But if you keep coming back, like every1 says you won’t
Then I can keep on being stupid & hold onto your beautiful false hope
