Good Omens Fanfic - 'Come into My Parlour and Sit at my Table" or 'Come and Dine with Me Under the Inky Night-sky'
Prologue - 'Dinner and Temptation (1 of ?)
A plate is in front of you, while other dishes are on the long table and a strange atmosphere fills the Dining room.
The candles lit in ornate sconces on the wall have been dimmed down low.
You are utterly alone, until suddenly you hear a flutter of ochre wings followed by soon a figure appearing from the shadows, which seem to extend upwards like a thicket of antlers behind the ornate chair.
The tall figure wearing a suit maroon, blue shirt unbuttoned slightly and a red cravat sits down, their electric light blue gaze piercing yours.
They pick up a knife and fork, cutting a piece a meat as you notice the nails have black lacquered polish on them. "Are you not hungry? I cooked especially for your company" they say, while you look down at your plate and that is when you see it.
Reflected in the polished wooden surface of the table is there face and yet it is different - three faces of a beast with ravenous fangs, the same piercing gaze and you find yourself shuddering heavily at the sight when you lift your head back up to say can you decline when you notice they are no longer in the seat.
A delicate, fine hand reaches over your shoulder startling you at the fact they are now behind you then a fork with meat speared on it is brought up to your lips.
"Eat." They whisper, their lips brushing against your ear in a subtle seductive caress and gulping heavily you slowly take the meat into your mouth.
You begin to eat, feeling they have placed their hand on your shoulder to indicate you must finish all of it.
Finally, you finish the meat and shuddering feel a satisfied sigh come from behind you as lips kiss your cheek lightly as a hand takes hold of your chin to hold.
"Oh, my Darling Crowley....you don't know how proud I am of you."
They whisper, while you feel a solitary tear run down your cheek and hit the table to dissolve with soft hissing noise.
You been tempted and this was the price you were now paying.
