The alarms were going off. Soon many guards ran past your cell towards what sounded like explosions. They rocked the floor with force and you watched in awe as the vibrations shattered the lock to your cell. You froze. This place was awful but it was all you had ever known. It was home. In a heartbeat you decided.
Waiting until the sound of footsteps disappeared, you carefully slipped from the cell. Once you had cleared the halls you took off into the surrounding woods. There was a trail of destruction leading west. You kept to the edge of it following the track for a half mile before something glinted up ahead. It was huge and looked very expensive. Your legs were shaking and the edges of your vision began to dim. After all you had just run a mile on an empty stomach. It wasn’t like hydra gave you five star meals or meals at all unless you were on the brink of death. Knowing you would regret it later you needed somewhere to crash. Maybe whoever owned this would be nice enough to let you leave once they found you. Carefully you stepped onboard. You had barely taken five steps before your knees buckled and your vision dipped entirely. Your body went sprawling and you fell to the floor. The world was dark and you were out cold. And that’s how they at found you when they came back.

“So shawarma?” Tony asked as they began walking back. A collective groan sounded
“Tony we had shawarma after the last six missions.” Natasha said placing her gun back in its holster.
“I can order us a pizza?” Wanda posed and frowned as she realised the jet was open to the woods.
“Hey Tony-?”
“Yeah I see it.” He said putting down the Ironman mask again. “Friday scan for heat signatures.”
“One heat signature detected inside.” Friday responded. “Shit. Ok guys stay behind me.” He said. Wanda ignored him and stepped cautiously into the jet.
“Umm Nat you may wanna come see this.” She called.
“Coming.” Nat said and tony followed behind her. The entered to see Wanda crouched by your side. Still out cold. Wanda’s fingers were on the slow steady pulse of your neck.
“She’s alive” Wanda said.
“Friday run threat analysis.” Tony said.
“Enhanced abilities detected. However she seems to be malnourished and dehydrated. She has extensive scarring across her body. No persons found to match her in government records.”
“Right … ok” tony said. “Thoughts guys? Come on this was suppose to be an easy mission.”
“I say we take her in. She obviously has nowhere else to go. Treat her as friendly until she threatens us. Standard medical care. From the sounds of it she’ll be out for a while yet. We can have Bruce look over her back at base and when she wakes up we’ll go from there.” Nat said.
“Do you think she’s from the base.” Wanda asked still crouched beside you.
“I wouldn’t rule it out.” Nat said. “Make sure she’s secure. I’m going to get us out of here.”
“Got it.” Wanda nodded and tony wandered off to alert fury of a mission update. Wanda sat against the bench in the jet, gently pulling your head into her lap so she could make sure you weren’t uncomfortable and so you wouldn’t go flying when the jet took off. The engine hummed to life and the jet took off. Wanda brushed the small curls from your eyes. As she sat studying you face she wondered what colour your eyes were. Probably blue or green. After a few hours bay carefully set the jet down and tony went to debrief while Nat picked your unconscious form from Wanda’s lap. Carrying you bridal style with Wanda trailing behind.
“You know I’ve got this I don’t need an escort.” nat said.
“Um I wanted to come along. If that’s alright. Just to make sure she’s doing ok.” Wanda said hesitantly and Nat nodded as they silently made their way to the medical wing.
Carefully setting you down on the bed Wanda came and sat beside you and took your hand. She felt like she knew you somehow. It was odd but your aura that her magic picked up on seemed familiar but she couldn’t place it. Bruce came in a moment later checking a few things and placing an IV before giving Nat a quick update. Wanda listened from her chair.
“She’s malnourished and dehydrated. I have given her an IV but I’m hesitant to give a feeding tube before she wakes up. We don’t know her history and i don’t want to do anything wrong. When she wakes up give her something to eat. Keep her calm, from what I can tell she’s been through something traumatic based off the amount of scarring alone on her arms and legs. I’ll get you a change of clothes for her. I’m expecting her to wake up in the next couple of hours.” He said before nodding to Wanda and leaving.
“Thanks Bruce.” Nat called after him as he went back to his lab.
“I’m gonna go clean up. Are you ok to stay with her?” Nat asked. Wanda nodded she wasn’t very dirty her magic kept her hands clean so she didn’t need a shower imminently like Nat did.
“Ok get Friday to call me if she wakes up.” Nat said and left to shower. Wanda studied your face again trying to place where she knew you from.
You began to stir. Two women’s voices seemed to be nearby and it took all your training not to stiffen. Where were you? Were you back there again? Despite your primal need to find out more or if you were safe you drifted back out of consciousness again.
The next time you woke your eyes fluttered open before you promptly shut them again. It was too bright. Much different to the darkness of your cell. You heard shuffling beside you and realised there was a hand in yours. You stiffened and the weight beside you lessened.
“Nat?” A voice called softly. You heard another persons, Nat supposedly stir on your left side. You were surrounded.
“Hmm?” A sleep voice hummed.
“I think she’s coming around.” The voice from earlier said and you stiffened as you felt a hand brush the curls from your face. Internally cursing yourself for reacting.
“Actually scratch that. I think she’s already awake. You can open your eyes sweetheart.” The voice said and hesitantly you did hearing the voice chuckle. But it was odd. It wasn’t the cruel chuckle you heard when they beat you. No this one seemed softer. Safer. Familiar. You looked at the two women who sat beside you. Both had red hair. Both had green eyes. The one holding your hand was the one who had spoken earlier. Noticing you observing them Wanda cleared her throat and you flinched slightly.
“Sorry.” She said seeming concerned by your reaction while Nat just raised a brow. “I’m Wanda and this is Natasha but you can call her Nat.” She said. You nodded slowly.
“Where am I?” You whispered quietly. Wanda visibly softened at your tone.
“You’re safe. You’re at the avengers compound in New York.” Wanda replied
“America?” You asked.
“Yes.” Nat said. You nodded again slowly.
“What do you need me for?” You asked softly. Wanda looked confused.
“Need you for?” She asked. Her nose scrunching.
“I’ll do whatever you want.” You said softly.
“Oh honey no. You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to. This isn’t hydra. You are safe here.” Wanda said understanding now.
“I’m… free?” You asked softly.
“Yes. And we have a few questions but we can save them for later when you’re better. In the meantime eat this.” Nat said handing you a Nutella sandwich. You frowned at it. Taking it and studying it closely.
“What is it?” You asked not used to anything otero than the grey porridge you rarely got.
Wanda gasped. “You’ve never had a sandwich before?” She said. Suddenly feeling embarrassed you shook you head slightly. Letting a quiet “no” pass your lips.
“Try it.” Wanda said. And you looked at it again before deciding it was worth the risk. Biting into it flavours you had never tasted burst on your taste buds. You hummed quietly to yourself in content and your shoulders relaxed as you let yourself indulge. After eating half of it you felt full and slightly nauseous. Carefully you set it down on the plate in your lap.
“Done already?” Wanda asked and your cheeks burned with shame. Wanting to appease her for some unknown reason you picked it up again lifting it to your mouth when a hand stopped you. You flinched slightly and dropped the sandwich. The hand withdrew quickly.
“Sorry. I’m sorry.” Wanda said not meaning to scare you. “I just wanted to stop you and tell you you don’t have to do anything you don’t want to. If you’re done with true sandwich that’s fine. You don’t need to eat more to appease me.” She said. Softly and you nodded.
“Do you think you could answer some questions for us?” Wanda asked carefully. You stiffened but nodded. Wanda hummed and decided to proceed.
“What’s your name kid?” Nat said.
“Subject 65798” you said softly.
“Jeez we need to call you something better than that.” She smiled softly. You exposed your left wrist to them and their eyes widening at the numbers tattooed on your wrist.
“But my brother called me y/n” you said quietly.
“You have a brother?” Wanda asked
“Had” you corrected.
“I’m sorry.” Wanda said.
“Don’t be it’s not your fault.” You said avoiding their eyes and picking at the bedsheets.
“Next question.” Nat said sensing your discomfort. “How old are you?”
“I’m not sure.” You replied honestly.
“Ok that’s ok. You look to be an adult but we can have Bruce do some tests fo find out.” You froze. Your breathing speeding up at the word tests. You knew tests. Tests hurt. Tests killed. It was Wanda’s voice that brought your back. Her concerned face was looking at you and both your hands were being squeezed in hers.
“Breathe y/n breathe it’s ok. You’re not there anymore. It’s ok. There we go, are you back with us sweetheart?” She asked softly. You nodded swallowing the shame you felt for breaking down.
“If you want to stop for today we can”. Nat offered.
“No it’s ok.” You said shaking you head. Wanda dropped you hands and you mourned the loss of contact. To say you were touch starved was an understatement.
“How long were you at hydra y/n?” Wanda asked.
“As long as I can remember.” You whispered.
“Do you have any powers we should know about?” She asked knowing you did but not knowing what they were.
“No.” You shook your head. If they didn’t know maybe they would let you stay you thought. Wanda sighed.
“We know you have powers y/n but I was hoping you would tell us yourself.” Wanda said
You stiffened. “Then why ask?”
“To see if you trusted us.” Nat said
“It’s a bit hard to trust when you spent your entire life in a cell.” You snapped and immediately felt bad as Wanda’s face fell.
“I’m sorry. I’m just not good with people.” You whispered.
“It’s ok.” Wanda said smiling again.
“It’s easier to show you rather than explain it. When I have some more energy I can do a demo if you’d like?” You said and Wanda smiled and nodded. Nat hesitated weighing the risks before agreeing.
“No. Not happening” a voice said from the door and you flinched. There was a man standing there with his arms crossed. You curled into yourself. You were defenceless in the bed and he stood blocking the only exit. Your heart quickened and you felt your breaths shorten.
“Tony not now. We would be with her the whole time. Not much can go wrong.” Nat said and they began arguing. Wanda watched before turning back to you and seeing you shaking as tears fell down your cheeks. She carefully put her hands over your ears sushing you as you flinched.
“Guys knock it off. Tony leave us be.” Wanda said with authority waiting for tony to leave before taking her hands from your ears. Instead she held you hand and helped you steady your breathing again.
“It’s ok.” Wanda said as she shifted to sit on the bed next to you. She hadn’t expected it but you threw yourself into her side. She gave you a comfort you hadn’t felt before. She was shocked stilling for a second before wrapping you in her arms. She petted your hair and whispered quiet words to you as you shook quietly.
“It’s ok. You’re safe now.” She said and pressed a featherlight kiss to the crown of your head. Your body relaxed and you drifted to sleep in her arms.
The next time you awoke you were still wrapped in her arms. However the room was different. She must have carried you here while you slept. The room was clean. A couple posters on the wall and a cold hot chocolate by the bed. You are curled in her lap as she read a book and ran her fingers through your hair. It felt amazing. You yawned and stretched like a cat. Wanda chuckled.
“You know you remind me of a puppy when you’re tired.” She said. You nodded still sleepy after getting more rest than you normally would.
“Where’s Nat?” You asked
“She’s training. She’ll be back later.” Wanda said setting down her book.
“I made a hot chocolate for you but it’s gone cold”
“I’m happy to drink it cold.” You said not wanting to waste her efforts.
“You don’t have to do that y/n” she said and you waved her off eyes wide ping as you brought the mug to your lips. The taste was amazing. Wanda chuckled at your expression.
“It’s even better when it’s warm.”
“I gets better?!” You asked and Wanda laughed at the chocolate on your nose. Using her finger she wiped it off celebrating internally as you didn’t flinch at the touch.
“If you want to come with me to the kitchen I can heat it up.”
“No it’s ok. They’re something I think I’m ready to show you now.”
“What is it”
“My powers.” You said softly.
“You don’t have to.”
“I want to. You… you make me feel safe.” You said and Wanda beamed.
Wanda was confused as you led her to the roof. Her confusion turning to worry as you grew closer to the edge.
“Y/n wait! You could fall!” She said trying to rush to your side. You simply turned grinning and giving a mock salute before falling backwards with your arms spread.
“Y/N!” Wanda yelled rushing to the edge and peering over. Just then you whooped and shot upwards. Two ebony black wings spanning out from just below your shoulder blades. Wanda sat back in awe. You spun and dipped grinning wildly. You rarely ever got this much freedom to use your wings and they were stiff from lack of use. The wind in them felt amazing. You smiled and used your hands to create a ball of magic like Wanda’s except black. You grinned at Wanda’s shocked expression and made the magic disappear before carefully leaning back on the roof. Your black wings folded behind you and retreated into two black lines that ran down your back looking just like they were drawn on with a pen. The wings were now gone. You smiled and Wanda tan over to you.
“That was Awesome but never do that again I thought you were going to die.” Wanda gushed and your grin faltered.
“Amazing though. I’m honestly impressed. But u have one question.”
“Sure?” You asked feeling more confident now.
“Do I know you?” She said quickly. You turn disappeared. You were hoping she wouldn’t ask.
“You had the cell next to me in hydra.” You said sadly. “Only you escaped and I didn’t. But it’s ok. I never blamed you.” You said softly and Wanda pulled you into a hug.
“I’m so sorry y/n” she said running her hands through your hair.
“It’s ok Wanda.” You said.
“No it’s not. We left you … I left you.”
“And I never blamed you.” You said taking her hands. “If anything I should thank you.”
“Thank me?”
“It was you and your powers that gave me my magic.” You grinned.
“So you can do what I do?”
“Yep just my magic is black and I have wings because of the extra years of testing after you escaped.”
“Y/n I’m sorry” Wanda said and you held up a hands.
“I don’t want to hear it. I don’t blame you and i never will.” You said softening and giving her a big hug.
“What did i miss?” Nat said walking onto the roof.
“Y/n has-“ Wanda started but you clamped a hand over her mouth. She stopped before you quickly pulled your hand away.
“EW Wanda … why?” You said cradling your hand and then wiping it on your black jeans. She had licked you. Wanda doubled over laughing while nat watched looking amused.
“Something you want to tell me y/n?” Nat asked again. You grinned at her before running and leaping off the edge of the building. You heard nat cry out and then gasp as you shot back up with your wings out stretched.
when you landed she cautiously ran a hand through the black feathers which felt softer than powdered snow.
“They’re beautiful.” She said in awe and you blushed slightly. When she removed her hand you folded them away again and they once more disappeared into your back. You made the two of them promise not to tell the team until you were ready and they agreed. But assured you the team would love them. You sighed and walked back inside with the two following you.
“Y/n? Isn’t it cold for you out there?” Wanda asked and you shrugged. It was nearing winter and you were in ripped black skinny jeans and an faded black AC/DC singlet with the sides deep enough your black sports bra showed. Your lace up black high top converse were double knotted and there was a small lesbian pride bead on the lace. Wanda had gone to the trouble of finding an outfit you would like and Friday had promptly gotten it delivered. You had a silver ring on your left pointer finger with a small skull on it and a black leather bracelet on the same wrist. Your hair was done in a half up half down braid that left locks falling part way down your back and shoulders.
“Its not bad. My body is used to extreme conditions so they don’t effect me as much as they used to.” You stated simply. Wanda looked sad and you quickly changed the topic not wanting to bring up memories for her either.
“Is there any chance i would be able to…” you trailed off realising you had almost asked for something.
“To what y/n?” Nat asked.
“Oh nothing.” You waved her off but nat persisted
“Y/n you can tell us anything.”
“I kinda … really need some more stuff. I don’t have well … anything so i need more clothes and some … other things. I mean i would love some art supplies it was kind of all i could do in the cell. But i don’t need them and i don’t want to waste any of your money.” You were rambling now. Wanda cut you off placing her hands on your shoulders.
“Y/n you can have whatever you like. Tony is rich as all hell and i could use a shopping spree. I’d love to help you find new clothes and I’m sure Steve can recommend some good art supplies. He draws right nat?” Wanda said looked over her shoulder at nat who smiled nodded.
You felt tears prick your eyes.
“Oh sweetheart its ok. I’d be happy to make you happy. And if you need anything at all i want us to be the ones to give it to you. Anything you want or need just tell us and we’ll make sure you have it. Honey your life has been hard and we just want to make it better.” She said pulling you in from arms length into her chest as small sobs wracked your body. You were so grateful. Wanda shushed you and gently ran her fingers through the ends of your hair. You were mildly surprised to feel another strong pair of arms wrap around you from behind as Nat sandwiched you between her body and Wanda’s. You let out a content sigh, wishing the moment would never end.
“How about i make us some lunch then we can go explore amazon” she said and winked “i have Tony’s login.” Which made Nat laugh. You simply looked confused
“Amazon? Like the rainforest?” You asked and Wanda looked you you with a grin.
“No its like an online shopping website. You order the stuff and it gets sent to you in the mail.” She chuckled and you felt the tips of your ears go pink.
“Damn i think even Steve might be more adapted than you at this point.” Nat said and bumped shoulders with you. She grabbed your hand and began leading you to the kitchen following Wanda.
summary: you cant sleep without your girlfriend there
----------------
It was around 2 in the morning when you heard the door to Wanda and yours shared room open. although you weren't asleep, finding it impossible without Wanda by your side, you still let out a small whimper at the bright light of the corridor flooding your room.
"im sorry, baby. go back to sleep," the sokovian woman whispered, her accent thicker due to her fatigue.
you sat up with a pout on your lips as you turned on the lamp beside you, "you know i cant sleep without you here."
Wanda looked at you with tired, yet understanding eyes. she was exactly the same. the rest of her teammates would often find Wanda half asleep on the couch watching sitcoms waiting for your return. in fact, one time, your 2 day mission turned into a week of tedious and totally unimportant surveillance, keeping you from Wanda. the only time Wanda did rest that week was when she collapsed in the middle of training with Natasha, who later scolded Wanda for her unhealthy sleeping habits - or lack of.
dropping her bag on the floor, she came to side on the side of the bed, reaching her hand out to rest on your cheek, which you gladly accepted. "I missed you."
you turned you head to kiss her hand, "i missed you too, are you okay? no injuries?"
Wanda smiled at your concern, "just a few bruises." you couldn't help the crease that formed by your eyebrows and Wanda leaned in to kiss your forehead, "I promise I’m okay detka."
you wanted nothing more than to hold her in bed, knowing that's what she loved most about coming back from missions, but you also knew she needed to clean herself up. "let me run you a bath?" you said in a small voice, still tired form the restless night, almost pleading her to let you take care of her.
she gave you a small smirk as she leaned in to kiss your pouting lips, "only if you join me."
you were thankful for the dim lighting in the room, allowing you to hide your crimson cheeks slightly, but Wanda knew they were there. she always knew how to make you blush, loving how shy you got Infront of her, despite being together for so long.
once in the bathroom, you began running the bath, lighting a couple of Wanda's favourite scented candles that rested on the small corners of the bath, knowing that Wanda liked it. you turned around to see her sat onto of the sink counter, a smile on her face as she reached her hands out for you, pulling you in between her legs for a much needed hug.
"i love you, so much," Wanda said, gripping tight.
"I love you to wands, but i need to breathe." you mumbled into her chest, and Wanda quickly loosened her hold on you, allowing you to get some air but not enough to get away form her completely.
Wanda let out a small laugh, "sorry, baby. I just really missed you." kissing you tenderly.
whilst you were held captured in your girlfriends embrace, she had used her magic to stop the bath from overflowing as you kissed her neck - not in a sexual way, but a loving way, wanting to show her just how much you appreciated her being here. she moved her arms to your waist, gripping the hem of your shirt, tugging at it softly to signal that she wanted it off. disconnecting your lips from her skin, you allowed her to take it off, blushing once again as she looked at your exposed chest.
she gave you a small nod when you reached for her shirt, being careful when taking it off, to not wanting to hurt her from her previous injuries. she let out a small whimper at the stretch. you gasped when you realised why, seeing just how bruised her ribs were.
"You said it was nothing major." you whispered, gently reaching your hand out to trace the harsh purple spots.
Wanda cupped your face in her hands, stopping you from your movements as you looked your girlfriend in her green eyes. "I didn't want you to be mad," she said teasingly.
"I’m not mad at you Wanda," you replied, "maybe a little because you didn't tell me before, but-" Wanda laughed a little, but you didn't miss the small wince in her face when she did. "I'm just worried about you, I don't want anything bad to happen to you."
"nothing bad is ever going to happen to me, not when i have you to come home to. I'll make sure of it," she replied, seeing the fear creep into your eyes. "lets get into the bath, detka," she says, kissing your forehead, "before the water gets cold."
after stripping away the rest of your clothes, you laid back in the bath, letting Wanda rest between your legs, your hands gently massaging her hair as she let out a sigh of relief, the water doing wonders to her tired body.
once you had washed her hair and massaged her shoulders to ease her tension, you got out, fetching some towels for the both of you, making sure to give the fluffiest and warmest one to your girlfriend. she hummed in appreciation as you dried her hair, combing through it as gently as you could before helping her into some clothes to sleep in once you had your own on.
whilst cleaning up the bathroom, your chuckled as your heard Wanda groan from your bed, "baby, come here."
quickly turning off the light, you walked over to your bed seeing your girlfriend laying half asleep, her arms wide open for you to crawl into. resting your head on her shoulder, you lay your arm over her waist, careful not to hurt one of her new bruises. "goodnight, detka," she mumbles into your hair.

Wanda held a cigarette between her lips; her slender fingers placed carefully near the butt. As she pulled it away from her mouth, she blew the smoke out like a chimney on a warm cozy evening. At once, she burned it out in the ashtray. Straddling you, she kissed you ever so softly across your chest up to your neck and finally, she removed her lips from your tender skin and stroked your hair softly as she smiled at you like you were something delicate and fragile. You smiled back as she leaned in for a not too soft but not too harsh kiss.
"I love you." Wanda whispered as she pulled her lips from yours. You weren't expecting those kinds of words to leave Wanda's mouth. They never left Natasha's mouth… ever. "I love you too." You smiled at her like an idiot. You felt like your heart was going to jump out of your chest. Your pupils looked as if they were going to jump out of your eye sockets. Wanda was the only one who really cared about you.
Wanda lay next to you, pulling you into her. Her fingers ran through your hair as you sighed and looked at her, "Wanda, how did I ever deserve someone like you." Wanda eyes met yours as she covered your two naked bodies with a blanket, and she smiled. "Y/N, I believe that you have always deserved someone who would treat you right, and I'm glad I get to be that person. I love you so much," Wanda caressed your cheek as she could tell how tired you were, "I love you too much." Your eyes dropped heavily and you soon fell asleep to Wanda's soft tone of what sounded like the birds chirping on a Saturday's morning, a lot different to how you remember Natasha's harsh and violent tone. Wanda placed a soft kiss on your forehead before she soon fell asleep.

Non Reader’s Pov
Wanda wasn't exactly excited about joining New York University, but she had no choice, so she had better find something worthwhile in this place.
She had to apply for a transfer from the Federal University of Sokovia, together with her twin brother, Pietro, because their parents were moving, starting a new life in America. And well, with the current situation in their home country, there was no chance of the twins surviving alone during their university period.
That's how she ended up moving to a new country, a new house, and a new university.
But she was trying to stay positive about everything.
Pietro was in high spirits, and had even made some American friends online, and he assured Wanda that he would introduce her to all those people so that she would not feel out of place.
Wanda only wished that the year would end soon.
After everything was organized, from moving to all the necessary paperwork, Wanda was finally on her way to NYU. Or more precisely, her father was driving her and Pietro to the main building, so that they could check into the dorms properly.
"Wandy, when you're done, come meet the friends that I told you about." Pietro asked his sister as soon as he had left the brunette's last box of belongings on the floor of the girls' dormitory, many minutes after their father had already said their goodbyes and left.
"Sure, Piete. I'll meet you outside." She answered her brother, smiling as he gave her a kiss on the cheek in farewell.
Turning toward her room, she sighed lightly. There was a lot of packing to do, and she hoped her roommate wouldn't mind the amount of rock posters she brought.
She was just finishing up when a girl stumbled into the room, throwing her jacket on the empty bed.
"Hey, newbie, welcome!" She greeted quickly, looking for something on the bookshelves while Wanda recovered from the slight startle at the sudden entrance.
"Hi." Wanda said half-heartedly, looking at the girl curiously.
The girl took a camera that looked very expensive from the topmost shelf and turned to the girl as she hung the object around her neck.
"I'm Darcy Lewis, by the way. Nice to meet you, but I can't talk right now." She warned quickly. "I need to run and take a picture of my project before she disappears again."
"Okay...?" Wanda started but the girl was already leaving the room. She blinked in confusion. Had the girl said "she" when referring to a project?
Overcome by her curiosity, Wanda followed the girl out of the dorm.
Darcy didn't leave through the entrance, but went around the corridors through the back exit, and Wanda eventually reached an area that looked like some kind of outdoor gym shared with the men's dormitory building, which was visible from the opposite side.
Darcy disappeared among the small crowd of students ahead, and Wanda frowned as she walked around them to the side and caught sight of what they were looking at.
It was a girl and a boy, clearly trying to figure out which of the two could hold on to the iron bar the longest.
"Rogers, we know you're going to lose!" The girl warned with a breathless smile, clearly from the physical effort. Wanda noticed how the girls in the crowd were glancing at both the boy's and the girl's defined abs.
"Shut up." Grumbled the boy, but his arms were shaking and it wasn't long before he fell on his feet. But he was laughing lightly as he wiped the sweat off his face, and watched the other girl gracefully release the bar. "Damn, Y/N, thirty minutes. How did you do it?"
"Super Soldier serum." Joked the girl making the boy and the crowd laugh. When the sound of laughter echoed, the girl gave a shy little smile, not seeming to enjoy the attention as much as her friend, who fiddled with his hair and waved slightly to the girls who came over to greet him.
Wanda crossed her arms, her gaze lingering longer than she wanted to admit on the other girl's exposed abdomen before she quickly turned away when the girl looked at her. Wanda turned toward Darcy the next moment.
"Who's that?" she asked her colleague, who was checking the pictures she had taken.
Darcy glanced at Wanda quickly before turning her attention back to the camera.
"Sin in human form." Ironized the girl, making Wanda laugh lightly. The brunette stretched to take a peek at the pictures, the vast majority being just images of the training and the challenge, focusing on the girl instead of the boy.
"She's your project then?"
"Yep." Darcy confirmed, handing the camera over for Wanda to get a better look at the photos. "I don't do sports, or physical activity. It's just not my thing. But gym is mandatory for the first three semesters, so I needed an alternative project." She explains. "The professor asked me to photograph the athletes for the article in the health magazine that's coming out next month."
"Those pictures are really good." Wanda comments as she looks at the camera. Even for athletics photography, they are really very nice.
"Thank you." Darcy speaks, accepting the camera back the next moment and turning off the device. "Come on, I'll show you around."
Wanda resists the urge to take one last look at the two jocks who were now surrounded by girls as she turned to leave. She didn't notice that the girl looked at her.

You were really late this time.
And it wasn't even your fault that Coach Okoye wanted to review the game strategy in the middle of the hallway before your Literature period. And the woman was only satisfied after you could correctly recite the moves you had rehearsed for the game that night.
Sometimes you hated being captain of the team.
Distracted and more concerned about not being even more late than you already were, you let out a grunt of pain when you bumped into someone as you turned down the hall toward Mr. Fury's classroom.
"Shit, sorry." You asked quickly as you stopped the girl from falling to the ground by holding her by the waist. At least you had quick reflexes. Your thought was interrupted when the girl pushed you away with an angry grimace.
"Don't you watch where you're going, girl?" She retorted angrily, her strong accent surprising you momentarily. You frowned at the hostility, watching her bend down to pick up the books that fell with the bump. But your expression softened the next moment when you recognized her.
You had first seen her a few weeks ago, at one of the resistance challenges that your best friend, and fellow track team member, Steve Rogers, has been doing with you.
The attention you ended up getting from the girls, and even the guys, who came to watch these challenges and all your competitions, was not exactly something you enjoyed, since it seemed like those people were only interested in your physical appearance. Steve didn't mind, but he had been dating Bucky Barnes for two years, so he was immune to the superficial charm that the girls were trying with him.
But you were single. And very available. And unfortunately, every time you gave any of those girls a chance, all they wanted was a one-night stand, and maybe to use you as their hot girlfriend trophy, while all you expected was someone intense and special, like you were.
That girl was new at NYU, you knew all the others in the crowd, or at least you had seen them all before. And this new girl didn't even look at you. And then she left without talking to anyone but your classmate Darcy, who happened to be friends with Carol Danvers' girlfriend's sister, which means that Darcy was a not so close friend.
"Sorry, but I don't think we've met before." You add as you bend down to help the girl with her books. She smiles begrudgingly as she accepts the two volumes of chemistry and biology that you hand her. "I'm..."
"I know who you are." She interrupts you impatiently as you both stand again, and she presses the books against her chest. You raise your eyebrow slightly. "The whole campus knows you."
"Okay... " You mumble half-heartedly. "And what is your name?"
"Why is that relevant?"
You let out a nasal laugh.
"I just asked your name, I don't need a reason." You retort as you put your hands in your pockets.
"If there’s no reason, you don't need to know." She retorts and you find yourself staring. She is beautiful. No, she is stunning. Her green eyes, her brown hair. The appearance is almost intimidating, her style is very similar to the girls at the rock bar you frequent with Carol Danvers, your childhood friend.
"Is basic etiquette a good enough reason?" You ask wryly, finding amusement in the stubbornness of the stranger.
"Depends." She retorts. "Do you have a need to conform to social standards?"
You bite back your smile.
"No, not really." You reply next, and the girl rolls her eyes.
You were about to add that you were just curious, but the girl sighed impatiently and sidestepped you, heading down the hall. Your gaze immediately followed her until she disappeared around the corner, but she didn't look back. You would like to say that you cared about the class, but all you could think about was your encounter with the girl.

Twenty-eight.
Twenty-nine.
Thirty.
You gasped slightly as the mental count of push-ups came to an end.
Warm-up practice for the game was always the worst.
The bleachers were a complete mess, but you tried to ignore the deep feeling of hope at seeing the stranger in the crowd.
Unfortunately, the coach asked you to replay the strategy with the team again, and you had to pay attention to what she was saying instead of who was arriving at the stadium.
A short time later, you were on the field. And any kind of distraction like a pretty girl was not allowed.

Wanda handed the packet of snacks to Natasha Romanoff when she noticed the outstretched hand at her side, and the redhead gave her a grateful smile.
Sports weren't exactly Wanda's thing, but since all the friends Pietro got her were going, she had to keep up. She would rather be in her room, drawing or playing guitar, or even resting after all that studying, but she was here. In the full bleachers of NYU, the cold late afternoon air making her wish she had said no, and chosen her blankets instead.
"Hey, I guess the Maximoffs haven't met the star of the team yet, have they?" Nat commented loudly to the rest of the group. Pietro was sitting with Monica Rambeau in the front seat, and Darcy Lewis in the next seat. In the seat to Wanda's right was Nat, and next to the redhead was her girlfriend, Maria Hill, and with that Wanda was in the last seat on the end. At least she had a quick escape route.
Wanda frowned slightly.
"My project is a wonderful thing, isn't she?" Darcy adds with a smile, her gaze on the field. Pietro turns in his seat to look at his sister and the other two girls.
"Who are you talking about, Tasha?" He asks and Nat gives a little giggle.
"The female version of Troy Bolton, of course!" She replies and the comment makes the twins look at her with confusion while the other girls laugh. "The captain of the team, Y/N/ Y/L/N. She's our friend too if you ask me, but she's been busy because of the matches. We haven't been able to introduce you guys yet."
"Which one is it?" Pietro asked and Nat squirmed in her chair and squinted her eyes slightly toward the field, as if trying to spot the girl. "The one over there who's putting on a push-up show for everyone to see."
Wanda rolled her eyes, grabbing some of the popcorn that Maria offered her while Nat showed Pietro who the girl was.
"Wow, she's hot." The boy then remarked, and Darcy gave a chuckle.
"Back off, Maximoff." Warned the girl. "I saw her first."
Pietro giggled awkwardly, and Wanda made a mental note to tease him later about how he seemed embarrassed by the jealous look Monica threw him when he made the comment.
"Wanda has already met her." Darcy then adds, and Wanda's eyes widen for a moment. Met was a strong word. The group looks at her expectantly, as if expecting her to tell a great story, but Wanda just shrugs, turning her attention back to the popcorn.
"She almost knocked me to the ground, I don't know if I call that getting to know someone." Grumbled the girl, getting confused looks from Nat, Maria and Pietro, but getting a chuckle from Darcy.
"Oh yeah, and Wanda didn't even want to tell the girl her name." Darcy teases with an insinuating smile. "Sounds like a love story if you ask me. The classic enemies to lovers."
Wanda felt her face heat up, and threw some popcorn in her friend's lap while telling her to shut up. Darcy just laughed lightly, turning her attention back to the game that was about to begin.
"If you give it a chance, I'm sure you'll like her, Wanda." Nat then added, causing the brunette to look at her curiously. "Y/N may look like someone else at first glance, but she's a sweetheart really. You'll understand when you see her play."
Wanda raised her eyebrow.
"Play?"
Maria giggles, nudging her girlfriend in the rib to get her to lean against the seat so that Wanda can see her.
"Y/N plays on some weekends at the Avengers bar in Brooklyn." Maria counters. "She's really good, and since Danvers started blogging her performances, she's become pretty popular all over campus. We're all going on Saturday to see her play, and I think you guys should come too, Maximoffs."
Pietro agreed excitedly, commenting about being eager to see new places in New York, but Wanda swallowed dryly. She didn't understand why this information made her heart race. She didn't even know the girl, but the image of her with a guitar and the same smile she gave her in the hallway invaded her head, and she didn't like the butterflies in her stomach.
Disguising it as much as she could, she tried to join in the conversation about the bets for the game when her friends started talking.

Playing in front of a lot of people always makes you anxious.
But the feeling was good, though.
You smiled at the encouraging looks from Carol in the crowd as you looked at her in farewell before moving to the back of the pub and walking toward the stage.
Gamora, the bartender, greeted you with a kiss on the cheek as you passed her while she was walking through the backdoor to start her shift, and you laughed half-heartedly when she tapped your butt to wish you a good performance.
"You're lucky I'm taken, cutie." She joked making you blush as you walked up the backstairs.
"I'll tell Quill you said that." You retort in the same tone and she laughs before turning toward the bar.
Rushing to grab the guitar you had left stored at the back of the stage earlier, you hang the instrument on your torso, and walk to the stage after being announced by the clerk.
Most of the people who have filled the bar are your classmates, but even the general crowd seems excited to see you again.
You nodded slightly as you sat down on the stool prepared for you, raising your hands to place the microphone in front of you and at the level of your mouth.
"Good evening, Avengers." You repeated the standard greeting for all introductions. "I hope you are all well. Today I'm going to start with something quieter, and then I'll take your requests. I hope you enjoy it."
You smiled at the applause and settled back in your seat before you began. Freaks by Surf Curse had become one of your favorite songs over the past few weeks, and because of its rapid popularization, many of your classmates recognized the melody and the first few verses quickly, letting out exclamations of excitement.
You smiled shyly as you sang, keeping your eyes closed to enjoy the music better.
When you risked looking into the crowd, you almost hit the wrong notes.
The girl from the hall was in the first row, and your gaze met hers immediately. She looked just as beautiful as she did that day, now with a ponytail that left her neck exposed. You shouldn't think about this now because you were playing in front of one hundred people, but you can't help it.
Your gaze stayed on her until the song was over, and you knew your legs were shaking because she looked back the whole time.
On the last note, you gave her a wink and she rolled her eyes, from that distance you couldn't notice the redness in her cheeks.
When the music requests began, you could no longer find her in the crowd because she moved to the bar, and stood with her back to the stage, appearing to chat animatedly with a boy you didn't know.
//-//
Carol met you at the back of the stage just as you finished thanking the applause and left, the next independent band the bar owner called already ready to continue the show.
"Damn, girl, I swear, you get hotter every time you get up on that stage!" Complimented your friend with a light shove on your shoulder, causing you to giggle awkwardly as you put your guitar away.
"Please, if I don't do it, she will." Carol jokes making you roll your eyes in embarrassment. "By the way, Monica is here tonight. She and Nat want you to meet some friends."
"Oh, that's great." You say. "I haven't been hanging out with Tasha in a while."
Carol murmurs in understanding looking around as you exit the back, looking for something. She lets out a contented exclamation and nods toward the bar, and you follow her gaze to notice Nat and Maria Hill with two glasses of drink in hand, toasting quickly before turning, their gaze amused toward Carol.
"You guys got an early start, eh, girls." Carol comments as soon as she catches up with them. The girls smile, and you exchange a wink with Gamora who is pouring the drinks before greeting your friends.
"It's good to see you." You said gently to your friends.
"I say the same dear, it's been a while since we talked." Nat says leaning against the bar. "Darcy didn't come today, but she sent her regards. And I have to introduce you to the Maximoffs, but I gotta find them first." She told you, her gaze wandering around the place.
"Wanda said she had already met you, but you probably haven't talked to Pietro yet." Maria added and you frowned slightly. You don't remember talking to any Wanda Maximoff, and a name like that wouldn't be easily forgotten.
"Ah, here they come, I think Monica was showing them around." Nat announces next and you turn your head in the direction she was pointing.
You really hadn't met the guy, Pietro. He was tall and good-looking, and his hand was entwined in Monica's as they approached. You wish you could have matched their smile, but you were staring like an idiot at the girl who was Wanda Maximoff. The same one who refused to introduce herself and who exchanged glances with you the whole show, and who now seemed embarrassed by your presence.
"It's nice to finally meet you, the girls just kept talking about how cool you are." Pietro mentioned as soon as you greeted each other, and you gave an awkward little laugh.
"I doubt it, but thanks." You replied, making Nat roll her eyes as she confirmed Pietro's words.
You swallowed dryly when Wanda stopped in front of you, her expression was indecipherable to say the least.
"Hello again." You tried to joke but she didn't smile.
"Hi." She murmured and you moved closer to greet her with a kiss on the cheek, but she moved at the same time, and you quickly pulled away when your noses almost touched. Feeling your face heat up, you apologized clumsily, while the girl looked at you with a mixture of curiosity and embarrassment.
"My god, that is Thor and Loki!" Shouted Carol excitedly suddenly, breaking the small moment between you and Wanda. You looked away from the girl in front of you to your friend only to witness her open her arms to embrace the boys who were arriving.
They were NYU classmates, but they were seniors, and almost never available to come to the Avengers bar. They were much more Carol's clique than yours, but you still enjoyed their company.
They greeted everyone quickly, and Carol joined in a conversation with them to update them on the gossip of the second year, and you tried to disguise your nervousness around the Maximoff girl as Nat pushed Wanda and Pietro toward you again.
"So, let me introduce you guys properly." Nat began, sounding tipsy. "Wanda and Pietro are exchange students from Sokovia, and they are absolutely amazing." She counters, making the twins giggle awkwardly.
This is the first time you hear Wanda laugh, and the sound makes your stomach flip. That can't be a good sign. "They're freshmen, so unfortunately we won't be taking the same classes, but the big boy here is going to try out for the track team next year, so you'll get to be jocks together." She comments with amusement, making you smile. You tell Pietro that the idea is great, and that the track team sure needs new athletes, since Barry Allen and Jesse Quick have graduated.
"I was part of the team in Sokovia, but when I transferred, enrollment was already over." He explains. "I can't wait to get back to running."
"I'm not part of the racing team, but we can train together." You say. "The gym is shared among the athletes, and I think you'll like meeting my teammates."
Pietro agrees with a smile, and you turn your gaze to Nat, who seems to have more to say.
"Well, you already know Wanda." She remarks and you smile shyly, risking a glance at the girl next to Nat, but Wanda doesn't hold your gaze. She seems almost impatient for this conversation to come to an end soon. "She's not on any team, but I hear she's joining the art club isn't she, Wands?"
Wanda just nods and Nat giggles, saying that now that you all know each other, you can all be friends. She turns to the bar next, and you want to ask why Wanda seems uneasy, but as she notices your gaze, her expression changes to one of almost challenge.
"I didn't think you were shy." She accuses and you frown slightly.
"I..."
"It' s not really your style." She interrupts and your friend seems too busy with her next drink to care about the conversation, and Pietro seems to have been distracted by whatever Monica whispered in his ear, walking away soon after.
"My style?"
Wanda murmurs softly, putting her hands in her pockets.
"Popular. Good looking. Athlete." She lists with sarcasm. You raise your eyebrow. "Even the guitar thing."
"Did you just say I'm pretty?" You retort with a corner smile and Wanda rolls her eyes.
"Of all things, you only listened to that?"
You laughed softly.
"Well, I think you're very pretty too, Wanda Maximoff." You hit back with a confidence you don't usually have, but something about this girl wakes your courage. You appreciate the way her cheeks blush. "And I think I'm going to believe you meant that my shyness is a good thing."
Wanda looks at you for a few seconds and then there is a small smile at the corner of her lips.
"It depends, really." She hits back by propping her elbow on the wood of the bar. You move closer to mimic the movement as you mutter "of what exactly," ignoring the way your heart speeds up at Wanda's intense gaze on you. "Whether you are shy because your head is empty, or because it is too full."
Her words surprise you slightly. You stare at her in silence for a moment before speaking:
"I think you will have to get to know me better to find out."
Wanda stares back at you with the same intensity, and you think you're imagining it when her gaze strays to your lips, but you don't have time to invest in that possibility, because Carol is back, commenting animatedly on Thor's invitation to spend the summer vacation at a ski lodge as she throws her arms around your shoulders, and you giggle awkwardly, trying to push her away. You don't notice the almost disappointed look Wanda gives you both before turning her face toward Pietro.
By the time you look for her again, she is already talking to her brother again, and you think it best to say goodbye to Nat and take Carol back to her place before she gets drunk enough to have Maria kick your ass for not taking care of her girlfriend as you promised.

Wanda needs to find a peaceful place to study.
With the end-of-semester exams coming up, the library is too crowded, and the girl’s dorms are always noisy.
She asks Darcy about somewhere more isolated, but it doesn't go as planned, and all she gets is an insinuating look and a giggle from the other girl, saying that "the quiet ones are always the worst" before she hurries off to turn in her overdue papers.
So Wanda is forced to walk around the campus in search of an empty area while carrying her books and laptop to study.
Fifteen minutes later she finds an empty space in one of the outdoor gardens, she enjoys the open air while sitting on the grass.
She was engaged in reading an article about American independence when she heard a noise of people laughing in the distance.
Looking away from the paper, she looked forward quickly, and could notice a group gathering around one of the tables.
In the center of the group, she recognized the person she had been trying to put out of her mind for almost two weeks, ever since she saw you play at the bar.
Honestly, maybe it was Wanda's fault.
She could have ignored her own curiosity, and wrapped up your short performance as yous one interaction, but she looked for more.
The same night of the show, as soon as you left without saying goodbye, which hurt Wanda's ego quickly, the brunette searched for more.
She casually asked Natasha about the videos she had said her friend posted, and wasted no time in looking at her instagram, only to catch a glimpse of you playing and singing almost all of her favorite songs in a way that made her whole body shiver.
But Wanda would not admit this to anyone.
Especially not to you, who as soon as you received the notification of the new follower, you tried to strike up a conversation with Wanda, but the brunette wouldn't budge.
All you two had exchanged were sarcastic and provocative comments, but still, you insisted on wishing "good morning, stalker" every day now, because Wanda had accidentally liked an old photo, and she blushed with embarrassment every time you remembered her.
What intrigued Wanda was your gentle and playful personality, contrary to all the pre-judgments she made. Wanda expected you to be as shallow as your fellow athletes she had met, Tony Stark or Clint Barton for example, but you only proved her otherwise.
Any literary, musical or movie references that Wanda used to tease were either understood, or the you would just send a shy "I don't know this, but I trust your taste. I'll add it to my list, and let you know what I think once I'm done.". Wanda didn't want to admit it, but being proven wrong was delightful.
That's why as soon as she noticed you across campus, she took her attention away from her books to grab her cell phone, and open her instagram chat, not being able to help but smile at the last message where she teased you about a Shakespeare quote only to receive a "stop making me blush during practice, I have a reputation," to send another message.
She quickly typed out a "you really are a cliché of the popular jock, aren't you?" before looking forward, expecting to see the reaction.
She bit her lips as she watched you take your attention away from the conversation to go through your pockets. And she felt her face flush when you smiled immediately, lifting your gaze to look for her. When you saw her, you smiled even wider. And then you were typing.
"And you're the cliché of the cute nerd I suppose." Wanda focused on her cell phone again, thinking that being called cute affected her more than it should have. You typed again.
I've heard that the best couples are like that.
Wanda felt her heart skip a beat. Biting back a smile, she blocked the device, and put it away in her backpack.
She lied to herself that she was going to study, even though her attention was not on her books at all.

Reader’s Pov
As the week of final exams began, you were a nervous wreck.
And well, the one thing that always made you relax was music.
You knew you needed to review some content, but there was no way you could do it with such a full head.
Your roommate was Maria Rambeau, and she was studying and hated noise, so you just nodded slightly before leaving the dorm with your guitar hanging on your back.
You were looking for a quiet place when your gaze recognized a figure in the distance.
Wanda seemed to get more beautiful every time you looked at her.
It was unfair really.
It's been a few weeks since the show, and well, you like to believe that you had some kind of friendship now.
Since you didn't have classes together, because you were a sophomore and she was a junior, you usually only talked by text message.
Or rather, she would send you teasing and sarcastic comments, and sometimes even flirtations that left you feeling awkward and intrigued. You didn't mind sharing, but Wanda seemed to have a little difficulty opening up to you. It wasn't a problem, you were so interested that it was almost pathetic. You would wait as long as it took for her to allow you to get to know her.
And well, you hoped she would be bothered that you interrupted her study session with your presence, so you just sat down at one of the free tables a few feet away, and took the guitar off your back to tune it before playing.
Letting your hands rest on the guitar, you looked back at Wanda.
She was focused on her book, her frown slightly frowning and her brown hair cascading down the side of her face. She was wearing a wine dress, and the black leather jacket thrown on at her side. Damn, she looked so pretty in any outfit. You loved how her style reflected her personality, although you felt that as aggressive as her leather boots might look, Wanda wasn't like that. She just seemed intense, and you wished you knew her completely.
Leaving your thoughts on the brunette, you began to move your fingers over the strings, your brain deciding on the melody before you even thought of it.
You closed your eyes, murmuring the beginning of Cinnamon Girl by Lana del Rey, letting the music envelop you.
Wanda looked away from the notebook as soon as she heard the sounds of the first notes. She felt her heart race as she found the source.
A shy smile escaped her lips immediately when she noticed you, playing with her eyes closed. She wondered if you had seen her there, but it would be too much of a coincidence if not.
She propped her face in her hand and her elbow on her thigh as she looked up at you. Your husky timbre brought sensations that she knew were dangerous, but she didn't care.
When you sang "Like if you hold me without hurting me, You'll be the first who ever did" she wondered if you meant it. If it was just a random song, or if you were really meaning something. She wanted to know what you were actually telling her.
And so she closed the notebooks, and put them in her purse before getting up.
You kept your eyes closed, even though you could hear noises of footsteps and then sounds of someone sitting down at the table in front of you.
It took another moment before you reached the end, and as you played the last notes, you opened your eyes. Wanda was watching you sing, a shy smile as your gaze met hers. It was a good thing that the song came to an end, you think you would have missed the notes if she had been looking at you like that the whole time.
"Did I disturb you?" you ask as soon as you finish, leaning your arms on the wood of the guitar and your head on your forearm. You didn't know it, but Wanda thought that you were looking really cute.
"Oh, yes, I can't study with noise." She replied in a playful tone, her gaze lingering on yours a moment longer before she looked away.
"Sorry about that." You added shyly. Wanda looked at you curiously as she noticed your tone. "I...I needed a little reassurance. The music, it...helps me calm my thoughts."
Wanda gave you an understanding smile, and you think you should stop staring before she thinks you're weird, so you look away to the table.
"Are you taking requests?" She asked with a mixed tone of mockery and curiosity, and you nodded with a smile. Wanda made a thoughtful expression. "I listen to depressing songs when I'm studying. I think it fits."
You giggled, adjusting your posture to play.
"Okay, Wanda." You sighed lightly before running your fingers over the strings, trying to think of a song. "I'll try something...I...you can go back to studying, I'll get nervous if you stare at me." You state half-heartedly, feeling your cheeks heat up as Wanda gives you a little smile, her gaze lingering on you for a moment before she begins to remove the notebooks and books to place on the table as you drag your fingers across the strings to remember the notes exactly.
You cleared your throat before you started to play Cherry Wine by Hozier, and it seems that Wanda recognized the melody immediately, because she stopped the movement of her pencil and raised her eyes to you. You just gave her a little corner smile before you started to sing.
Humming the most romantic verses makes your stomach turn, but you don't look away when the words "It's a crime, that she's not around most of the time" come out, because you want to tell Wanda that you wish she was around you all the time, and that she would give you a chance to get to know her completely.
The brunette looks away as the song comes to an end, and you think she looks adorable with her flushed cheeks, but you don't have time to say so, because there is someone approaching the next minute, and you are slightly startled.
"Wow, you were amazing. I follow you on instagram, but you are even more gorgeous in real life." The stranger quickly compliments you, and you blinked in confusion as you stared back at the girl. She looked about your age and was holding her cell phone, and she started saying something about her friends visiting the university this week, and inviting you to a party and then there's a small group of people approaching the table and you have a hard time keeping up with it all.
You try to handle the pictures they ask for, and politely decline the invitations, feeling slightly overwhelmed.
Everything seems to get worse when you look away only to notice Wanda gathering her belongings quickly, and leaving the table without looking back.
You frown, but she doesn't turn around when you call her name.
"Sorry, excuse me." You say quickly as you push the strangers' touch away, gesturing quickly to cross the small crowd and run after Wanda.
Unfortunately you can't find her anywhere, and you feel very unhappy at the interruption.

Shared Pov.
Wanda knew she was being childish.
Ignoring your messages, and all your attempts to make her talk or laugh.
Even avoiding Natasha, Maria and even Pietro's invitations to outings she knew you would be on.
She wasn't going to admit that it was because she was jealous.
Because the idea was absurd. You didn't even know each other properly. She couldn't be jealous of what wasn't hers.
And clearly, you were not. All those girls, and all those compliments, all the touching.
Wanda felt her skin boil with anger. It wasn't the first time she was thinking about the last occasion when you were together, and you were singing to her, before you were interrupted.
Who did that stranger think she was? Wanda was ready to talk to you. To share, or even just enjoy your company. And then there were people stealing all your attention.
With a frown on her face, she sat in the cafeteria, a book in her left hand and an iced tea in the other.
The week of exams came to an end, and she was spending the last Saturday on campus before returning home, as summer vacation was to begin next week.
Wanda knew that the building was empty this way because the final game of the basketball championship was about to take place, and well, all her friends insisted that she go, but she didn't accept.
And now she was here, alone in the dorm cafeteria, trying to convince herself that she wasn't thinking about you. Not at all.
She must have read for about fifteen minutes before she was disturbed.
"You're hard to find."
Wanda almost fell off her chair when your voice broke into her ears. You had a shy smile on your face, and your hands were in your pants pockets. She did her best to keep her composure, not even closing her book, as if your presence didn't affect her at all.
"Weren't you supposed to be playing right now?" She asked without looking at you.
You shifted the weight of your feet, trying not to mind the indifference so much.
"I'm not on the basketball team." You reply. "You know that."
"It all seems like the same thing."
"It's literally a different sport." You retort and Wanda sighs impatiently, looking away from the book to you.
"Do you need anything?" She asks irritatedly and you frown at the hostility. Wanda was so hard to decipher.
"I'm just trying to talk to you." You clarify, trying to keep your tone calm.
"If I wanted to talk I would have replied to your messages."
Wanda regrets her own words as soon as she utters them, but her expression doesn't waver. You frown, and then sigh, shrugging.
"I thought we were getting along, Wanda." You begin with almost disappointment, which startles Wanda. "I'm sorry for taking things the wrong way."
You say before turning away, deciding to go back to your dorm.
Wanda doesn't go after you.
Not for the first twenty minutes at least.
Because she thinks she could go back to reading, but all she can think about is your sorry expression when you left, and the guilt swirling inside.
All you've been doing is being friendly and kind, and so much funny. And the only reason she reacts like this is because she can't admit that she loved the feeling of you trying to win her over, to be the focus of your complete attention.
Closing the book tightly, she stands up.

You are feeling frustrated. So that means you need to get that energy out, and music wasn't working for you, so your alternative was to work out.
As soon as you got to your room, you removed your sweatshirt with one motion, leaving only your sports top, and took off your shoes, moving to hang on the iron bar at the entrance to the bathroom.
Your roommate, Maria, was on a date with Carol, which was a good thing, since you felt awkward working out in front of her because she always hissed and complimented you because she knew you were blushing with embarrassment, and all you wanted to do was work out in silence.
You stood with your back to the door, and didn't notice when Wanda found your dorm room and made mention of knocking on the door, but widened her eyes slightly when she caught sight of your flexed back.
Wanda felt a sharp twinge in her belly, and her cheeks heat up. She had a planned short apology speech set up in the hallway, but any coherent thought disappeared and was replaced only by the image of your muscles flexing.
Wanda. Keep it together. She mentally repeated it about three times before clearing her throat, and the noise startled you slightly and you stepped off the bar to look at the door.
"Oh, hey." You greeted in surprise at the brunette's presence, running your hand through your hair and down your face, wiping away the excess sweat.
Wanda was having a hard time keeping her gaze on your face and not on your exposed skin.
"I came to apologize." She declares, crossing her arms across her chest and clutching the book she read earlier tightly.
"Okay." You murmur still surprised, putting your hands in your pockets. Your relaxed posture makes Wanda surrender to the temptation to look at your abdomen, and the sigh she lets out as she bites her lips makes you blush intensely. "Wanda?"
"Apologies can wait."
That's the only thing she declares before throwing the book on the floor and breaking the distance between you with large steps.
You were going to ask what was going on, but Wanda kissed you and all you can do is melt against her touch.
She brought her hands to your face as soon as your lips met, and you gasped in surprise and something else as well.
Her lips were soft, and they were a perfect fit. You slipped your tongue to her lower lip, asking for passage, and Wanda's fingers trailed down your shoulders, squeezing the flesh as her tongue touched yours, drawing wet sighs from both of you.
Her hands trailed down your neck, one in your hair, deepening the kiss even more. Wanda stumbled forward slightly with the intensity, and the feeling of your bodies so close made you gasp against her lips.
When your hips slammed together, it was her turn to let out a shaky moan. The sound made your whole body shiver.
But you wanted something more with Wanda. More than just sex. She needed to know that.
Using all the control you were almost losing as you felt her tongue moving around your mouth, you began to slow the intensity of the kiss, until your mouths parted and you breathed out of rhythm against each other's lips, your foreheads touching.
"Wanda..." You started with a hoarse voice and your eyes still closed. It's hard to remember why you had stopped in the first place.
"I am sorry." She interrupts in the same tone, her strong accent making your legs tremble.
You take a deep breath and move further away, thinking the distance will help you clear your thoughts. The view of Wanda's swollen lips and dilated pupils is maddening to say the least.
"I..." You cleared your throat, trembling slightly. "I like you. It can't just be sex."
Wanda was surprised by your statement. But it was in a good way. She gave you a shy smile, her cheeks reddening as she looked away.
"It's okay." She says. "I...I'd like to have more too."
You let out a sigh of relief, and Wanda runs a hand through your hair, trying to calm her nerves a little. Seeing this, you quickly add.
"B-but we can kiss for now." You say and she looks at you with raised eyebrows "Until I take you out, I say." Your clarification makes Wanda let out a short laugh, and then she bites her lips, looking at you with intensity.
"Tomorrow, seven-thirty in the dorm hallway." She speaks as she breaks the distance between you slowly, like a predator approaching its prey. "Take me somewhere special."
"Yes, ma'am." You agree with a breathless sigh, and Wanda has a mischievous smile on her lips as she lifts her face to the height of your ear. When her tongue teases your earlobe, you shiver and your breath hitches.
"Good girl." She whispers against your ear, her sweet voice in contrast to her strong accent are the perfect combination to turn you into a complete mess. Wanda seems to be delighted in how affected you are, since when she places a kiss on your jaw and moves her lips down to your neck, you can feel her smile.
You close your eyes tightly, lifting your hands to her waist, needing some support as she licks and kisses your skin.
"Wanda" The name escapes as a shaky whisper, you feel warm all over, and she has barely touched you. Her smile against your skin widens before she pulls away, her hands coming up to your face as she looks at you with an innocent expression.
"What is it, baby?" she asks in a low tone, and you feel your heart soar at the nickname.
"Kiss me." You ask breathlessly, and Wanda looks at your lips before looking into your eyes again, the dark glow of her irises hypnotizing you.
"Where?" She asks as she brings her face closer, her fingers caressing your cheeks gently and she nuzzles your noses together. "Here?" she asks before stretching her tongue out to your lips, licking them quickly before pulling away, and making you whimper softly as you pursue her mouth, but she doesn't kiss you.
"Stop teasing me." You ask breathlessly, pressing your fingers into the fabric of her dress at her waist, but Wanda just bites her lower lip, a wicked smile as she quickly denies it with her head. "You're not gonna kiss me, then?"
She laughs softly, and moves closer to quickly smooch you on the lips. You want more, but she moves her face away, making you groan.
"Oh, baby..." She starts with a low tone. "Kissing isn't going to be the only thing I will do with you." She assures before bringing your mouths together again, and you melt at the sensation, wishing she would keep her promise.

"Wanda your floor is so comfy I swear!" You giggle, the wine you've consumed is finally making its way through your bloodstream.
"How drunk are you?" Wanda joins in giggling. The two of you crack up when she accidentally stumbles over her shoes to sprawl across her bed.
"Not as drunk as you!" You sing song, loving these casual free evenings to unwind without worrying about a mission the next morning. They didn't come very often.
"I love my bed!" Wanda slurred, giggling when she leans on her elbows and props her head up with the palm of her hand. "Okay I have a question!"
"Shoot!" You get more comfy by crossing your legs and taking a sip of wine.
"What is the most comfiest piece of furniture you've ever sat on in the compound?" Wanda asks and you laugh shaking your head.
"The most random question in history! Uh okay let's see... I mean... It's all expensive but nothing, and I mean nothing will be the comfort of Bucky's face."
"With his stubble I can imagine it would hurt." Wanda laughs.
"Nah, it's the best. I mean look..." You sigh, putting down your glass so you can stand up. You stumble over towards Wanda and raise your shorts higher to show her the marks left on your thighs from his prickly stubble. "It's a delicious burn!"
"You are so lucky! Vis can't grow a beard. What does it feel like?" Wanda asks seriously, rolling off the bed to join you on the floor.
