Hello everyone. I am still busy writing my Get Lucky prequel - Get Sophie. When I conceived the idea for a story about the matriarchal mother in the Get Lucky series, I thought I would simply use my background character notes to flesh out how she 'came to be' the person we meet in Get Lucky. I thought it might be a one off story, a bit like my other sequel "Get Abigail" but I quickly realised it needed to be at least two parts; one for her early years but another to explain her actions early in the Get Lucky series. I wrote about the Get Lucky years from her perspective first! I then went back to take you all through her life, from her early year and her teens all the way to the mature woman in Get Lucky.
That's when things got away from me. To do the story justice, Sophie's early years took 50,000 words and one 'part' - this is Get Sophie part 1. I thought I would next write about her twenties then another part about her thirties - parts 2 and 3. This hasn't happened either! Get Sophie part 2 is written and takes us through her late teens to early twenties (another 50,000 words). I then wrote 50,000 words about Sophie's twenties - this has become part 3. I am now writing about her thirties (which will end up being another 50,000 words) and I am half way through this. Then I need to marry it up with the Sophie we meet in the first part of Get Lucky.
Added to this is the complication of continuity. Writing a story with the future so closed and 'written' gives me very little wriggle room. I am constantly referring backwards and forwards trying to make sure I don't break the story! I am taking some massive liberties! I hope it all pans out.
So, my apologies it is taking so long. I hope you've enjoyed my short stories in the mean time, or go back and read my back catalogue. You're all going to have to read Get Lucky again from the beginning after I publish all the parts! Maybe you'll have different views about some of the characters? I can't wait for your feedback. Also, I am not a full time writer: I have a day job and fit my writing in when I get time. It is a passion of mine. If you want to send me a present, or reward, no matter how small, it would be gratefully received. Thank you for sticking with me. It won't be long now. x
I just want you to know, I hate you guys for doing this to me. But I love this so (ugh) I reluctantly welcome another ship into the shenanigans that is my blog.
Enjoy :)

“We need to have a talk.” Tony ripped his sunglasses off his face, tossing them onto the couch and folded his arms over his chest.
Bucky, Thor and Steve all looked at each other guiltily, then up at Tony as innocently as possible.
“What's wrong, Tony?” Steve asked, dropping the recliner foot rest and leaning forward with a concerned look on his face. “Is everything alright?”
“Yeah, what's wrong?” Bucky quit stuffing his face with a sandwich and wiped his hands on his jeans. “You doing okay?”
“Anthony, surely you know you can tell us anything.” Thor offered, sitting up from where he’d been lying on the floor. “What is on your mind?”
“Oh no no no. Don't you act innocent with me!” Tony snapped. “The three of you have been conspiring against me and I am done with it.”
“I have no idea what you are referring---”
“Can it Rogers!” Tony pointed a finger at him. “You, Big and Blond, have been taking my t shirts and replacing them with ones that smell like you. I am starting to look homeless wearing your huge ass shirts all the time. And you, Dark and Scary--” he jabbed his finger at Bucky. “Have been moving everything in the kitchen up to the top shelves so I have to ask you for help every damn time I want to eat something.”
“That is utterly disgraceful.” Thor frowned. “Shame on the two of you.”
Tony whirled on him. “Oh no. No no no Thunderhead, don't get me started on you. You have been leaving Mjolnir places where I have to be just so I have to call for you to move her. And then usually you don't even move her, you just pick me up like a fucking cat and move me!”
“Like a cat?” Bucky muttered and Thor shrugged sheepishly. “Real smooth.”
“Not entirely like a cat, Anthony.” Thor protested. “I don't pick you up by your neck, I simply scoop you into my arms and carry you where you wish!”
“Stuff it!” Tony yelled. “Now I don't know why you guys are making life difficult for me, but it stops NOW. It’s not funny, it’s not cute, and if you don’t cut it out I will start doing terrible things to you. And since I have a bunch of money and a fairly serious lab, don’t you push my buttons because I am literally one bad lab accident from being a super villain.”
“Tony.” Steve coughed. “We aren't trying to make things difficult for you, we just want--”
“Um, we are trying to make it seem like---” Bucky hesitated. “I mean, we are only trying to--”
“You need us.” Thor said simply. “And if you need us, then the transition into a romantic relationship will be much easier on us all.”
Tony stared at him for a full minute, the muscle in his jaw jumping as he ground his teeth. “My brain just broke.” He said finally. “It's broken. I can't process this right now. You are telling me, you are telling me that you three giant dummies have been messing with me for weeks because you want to… you want to…. I can't even say it. I literally can't say it. My brain is broken. I'm going to go get a drink. You three stay away from me.” He turned and stomped away.
“Well. That didn't work out as well as I thought.” Steve muttered, and Bucky threw a piece of sandwich at him in annoyance.
“No, it totally didn't.”
“I don't understand.” Thor pondered. “If he needs us outside of the bedroom, why wouldn't that same principle apply inside the bedroom. It seems a fool proof plan.”
“Yeah, it totally did.”
They fell silent for a long time, each lost in their own thoughts.
“Boys.” Natasha’s voice interrupted the quiet, and she sounded like she was laughing. “Silly boys. So pretty and yet so dumb. Tony doesn't need anyone. Ever. Haven't you learned anything from living with him all these years?”
She sauntered into the room and lay out on the couch, all red hair and dangerous curves wrapped in leather and spandex. “You will have to seduce him. Appeal to his softer side. He certainly doesn't need you, so make him want you.”
“And what makes you think that will work?” Bucky challenged, folding his arms stubbornly. “What do you know about this sort of thing?”
“How do you think Clint got me?” Natasha replied with a lazy shrug. “Do you think it was by showing off? By inconveniencing me until I gave in? No. No no oh Clint.” she sighed happily, her green eyes fluttering closed. “Oh, he bought me flowers. Rubbed my feet after a long day. Braided my hair. When I came in from a mission, there would be a bath waiting. He even painted my toe nails once when I asked.”
Steve looked uncomfortable and Natasha laughed at him. “Stevie, being gentle and sweet with your lover is expected. Get used to it. Tony is high maintenance, he wants to be spoiled. And honestly if the three of you big goons can't handle that, you don't deserve him. I don't see how it will work with the three of you anyway, but I am definitely interested in this whole mess.”
“So…” Thor raised an eyebrow. “We will be wooing Anthony. Courting him.”
“Thunder-thighs gets it.” Natasha teased. “Pretty presents, sparkly things, compliments. Make him want you, and he will melt, I promise.”
“Nat?” Clint called for her and she sat up with a smile, “Ah. Speak of the devil! Hello, my love.”
“Hey.” Clint bent down and kissed her, long and sweet. “Can I get you something to eat? Do you need something to drink? Can I bring you anything a tall?”
“I am a little hungry.” Natasha admitted, looking pleased. “But can we eat here? My feet hurt and I don’t want to walk.”
“Oh come here, then.” Clint just lifted her right into his arms, kissing her nose. “I'll carry you wherever you want to go, baby.”
“My hero.” Nat said with a soft sigh and a giggle, and the two of them left without even acknowledging the other men.
“Maybe she has a point.” Bucky confessed. “I mean, Clint is head over heels for her, and Natasha is completely lost on him. Maybe we need to be soft and sweet and go to Tony, instead of waiting for him to come to us because we've basically made him depend on us for everything.
“So we will change how we are pursuing Anthony.” Thor decided and Steve nodded slowly.
“Alright. Making him want us. All of us.”
“Excellent.” Thor stood to his feet and lay a short kiss on Bucky's lips, then moved to Steve, cupping his jaw and kissing him as well. “Until tonight, my loves.”
“Bye Thor.”
“Bye honey.”
*******************
Tony didn't say anything at first about the change in their behavior, but after a few days it was became too much to ignore.
First Thor, who looked up every morning and told Tony how beautiful he was, the softest smile ever on his face. The first few times Tony just stared and stammered, then he started blushing and smiling back.
Then Steve, who had taken to making Tony food and bringing it down to the lab and sitting with him while he ate. Tony had been pleasantly surprised initially, but now he asked FRIDAY where Steve was if he wasn't in the lab by about noon with lunch.
And Bucky, who started having flowers delivered to Tony's office, or down to the lab, or just to Tony's bedroom on a daily basis. Tony only had to comment on a particular color during his day, and the very next day flowers in that particular shade appeared near him.
It was ridiculous and cute and Tony thought he would actually die from all the sweetness.
And then the kissing started. Slowly at first, a brush against his cheek, a quick peck on his hair, just a little one on his forehead. Tony enjoyed the physical contact, enjoyed how close they had to get to him to kiss him. It was comfortable and easy and he grew used to it very quickly.
And then the guys turned it up a notch.
Bucky brought Tony flowers one morning and when Tony grinned up at him, Bucky bent and kissed him firmly, one hand curling around Tony's waist and holding him close.
“Oh!” Tony said in surprise, and Bucky ran light fingers through his hair before kissing him one more time and leaving without saying anything.
Tony felt like his lips were still tingling when Steve brought him lunch.
“Thanks honey.” Tony said automatically, and truth to be told, a little absentmindedly. “This looks great.”
“You look great.” Steve murmured and slid one hand around the back of his neck and pulled him close, sealing their mouths together in a long kiss, nipping lightly at Tony's bottom lip as he pulled away.
“Oh.” Tony knew his mouth was hanging open, but Steve didn't say anything else, just sat and ate his lunch just like he did every day, asking casual questions about what Tony was working on.
Later that same night, sometime after dinner, Tony was cutting into the cake Natasha had made, setting thick slices on plates and passing them out.
“Thor!” he called, raising his voice so the people in the living room could hear him. “Do you want some cake? It's chocolate!”
“Cake!” Thor boomed, and Tony could hear the other members of the team laughing as the Thunder God jumped to his feet and nearly ran to the kitchen. “I do enjoy cake, Anthony.”
“I know you do.” Tony grinned and handed him a big slice. “Enjoy.”
“I plan to.” Thor said, and Tony didn't even have time to think about why that seemed odd, because Thor just put the plate down and reached for him, thick arms winding around his waist and lips crashing together in a kiss that had Tony moaning against Thor's mouth.
“Oh my god.” Tony pulled away, eyes wide. “What in the---”
Thor's blue eyes were soft and loving, and Tony just shrugged and stood up on his toes, looping his arms around Thor's neck. “Kiss me again.” he demanded, and Thor obeyed instantly, lifting him right off his feet and onto the counter, moving between Tony's thighs and tilting his head back to kiss him thoroughly.
“Shit.” Tony breathed, and when Thor started to move away, his eyes flew open. “No wait-- oh, okay, this is good too.” he opened his arms eagerly for Steve, who had taken Thor's place between his legs.
“Tony.” Steve sighed. “Been waiting so long for this.”
Tony didn't have a chance to reply because now Steve was kissing him, and though it was completely different from Thor's, it was just as good. Slow and solid and perfect and Tony knew he was trembling when Steve finally lifted his head.
“Heya sweet thing.” Bucky grinned at him, sliding his left arm around Tony's waist then dropping lower to palm at his ass. “Come here.” He gave a little tug and Tony nearly slid off the counter, his legs instinctively circling Bucky's waist. “Mmm that's right.” Bucky encouraged, and then proceeded to kiss him absolutely senseless.
Natasha and Clint walked into the kitchen looking for more cake, but turned right back around and left, closing the door behind them.
No one noticed them at all.
****************
So it was pretty adorable, watching both the super soldiers, the God of Thunder and Tony try to navigate their relationship.
Feeding himself absolutely never happened anymore, because Thor took great pleasure in serving Tony his food bite by bite, stealing kisses in between, and licking drops of sauce of drink off Tony's lips. Tony didn't know if he ate more or less with this new arrangement, but it certainly took a lot longer to finish a meal.
Steve had gotten in the habit of carrying Tony places. He would walk right up behind Tony in the hallway and scoop him into his arms and carry him wherever he was going. Tony always protested of course, on principle, but it always took him a suspiciously long time to get anywhere after Steve had picked him up, and he always arrived with his hair looking decidedly more mussed, and his clothes somewhat askew.
Bucky never let Tony sit anywhere, as if every chair in the compound was suddenly unworthy. Tony never sat anywhere except Bucky's lap now, even in his lab as he worked. Bucky plopped Tony onto his lap and spent their time stroking gentle lines up Tony's thighs, or rubbing slow circles on his stomach. Tony could actually get work done like this, or at least he would if he didn't take every opportunity to wiggle on Bucky's lap, or to bend over to reach for things, which inevitably led to FRIDAY locking the doors of the lab until it was safe to enter again.
There was definitely a picture that Natasha had snapped one day of the four of them watching a movie, with Tony just stretched out over their laps, smiling contentedly while they all looked down at him adoringly.
Another movie night, Tony had his fingers in Thor's hair doing all sorts of intricate braids, while Steve braided Bucky's hair in a more sensible style. Then they switched, and Bucky and Thor spent nearly an hour scratching and massaging over Steve and Tony's scalps, tugging at their shorter hair lightly until Tony was moaning and arching his back so Thor would touch him more, and Steve and Bucky were already rolling around on the floor, grinding against each other and kissing.
FRIDAY just did everyone a favor and shut the doors to the living room for the rest of the night.
Of course, no one ever asked (even they all wanted to know) what happened in the new giant bed Tony had had specially made and delivered to his rooms. The walls were soundproofed so at least they didn't have to listen to it, but more mornings than not Tony was walking a little stiffly, which of course just led to Steve carrying him everywhere, and Thor feeding him extra carefully, and Bucky making him sit on his lap to keep anything (ahem) hard away from that cute little butt they were all so crazy about.
Tony was definitely a bottom, and the other three certainly looked like tops… but when they all emerged from their room in the morning they all looked equally fucked out, so no one really knew how that all worked. Nobody asked either.
No wait, that wasn't true.
One time, just once, Clint had sworn that Thor must have topped all of them all night long. After Tasha had cleaned up all the coffee she spit out, she demanded to know how the hell he would know something like that.
Clint had shrugged and pointed out that both the soldiers and Tony were sporting some pretty fantastic static hair and that every time they touched anything there was a spark.
Natasha had laughed until she had cried, and spent the rest of the day complementing Tony's suddenly over spiky hair.
Basically it was wonderful, and no one had ever seen Tony this happy. He just sort of floated through his day with a big smile on his face, and every time he turned around there was somebody tall and hot wanting to touch him or kiss him or do something for him.
After a few months, Natasha finally asked him, finally brought up the relationship as they sat snuggled together under a blanket watching Legally Blonde for the hundred thousandth time.
“Tony.” She said, elbowing him lightly. “What's the deal with the four of you?”
“No deal.” Tony shrugged. “We’re just all together.”
“Well who's the best in bed?”
“Well.” Tony thought for a minute. “Thor has the whole electricity thing going on which is amazing. Steve takes so much time with me, everything he does is incredible. And Bucky--” Tony shivered. “Bucky fucks like a porn star.”
Natasha cracked up laughing. “That didn't actually tell me anything. Who is the best? Like when you guys all get in bed, who is the absolute best.”
“Tony is.” Bucky interrupted and they both turned to look at him in surprise.
“Yeah. Tony is. Hands down.” Steve was right behind Bucky and sent Tony a fond smile.
“Anthony has the most sexual prowess.” Thor agreed. “With out a question.”
“Easily.”
“So sexy.”
“We are utterly hopeless without him.”
“Blows my mind.”
“Every single time, oh my god.”
“Come Anthony.” Thor bent down and lifted him from the couch. “We are tired. Come to bed.”
“Hey!” Natasha's hand shot out and smacked Thor's wrist. “Tony and I are hanging out. You guys can keep it in your pants for another hour.”
Thor narrowed his eyes and thunder literally boomed outside, but Tasha didn't back down.
“I said,” she snapped. “Tony and I are hanging out.”
Thor hesitated but finally put Tony down, promptly dropping onto the couch next to him to sit as close as he could. Bucky sat between Tony's legs on the floor, lifting them to rest over his big shoulders, and Steve settled into the space between Thor's knees, turned to he could rub his hand over Tony's thigh.
“You guys are the worst.” Natasha complained, but then she saw the grin on Tony's face and gave up. “But it's cute as hell.”
“It's cute as hell.” Tony agreed, and settled back into watch his movie.
“Hey baby.” Clint looked up in surprise when Natasha stormed into the room not fifteen minutes later. “I thought you and Tony were watching--”
“His boyfriends showed up.” She cried. “They lasted ten minutes before clothes were coming off! I mean honestly.”
“Sorry babe.” Clint put his book down and reached for her. “But isn't it nice to see Tony so happy.”
“No.” She sulked.
“Tasha.” He reprimanded and she rolled her eyes.
“Fine. It's completely wonderful to see him so happy.”
*****************

Tony was still licking his fingers, wiping the mess from his face, grinning over at his boyfriends who were all at different levels of blissed out.
“I can't believe you guys got all jealous and possessive because I was hanging out with Tasha. What happens if you find out I've also been spending time with Stephen Strange?”
He burst out laughing when they were all over him in an instant, pressing him down to the carpet and laying heavy kisses all over his body.
“Yeah.” Tony chuckled inbetween kisses. “That's about what I thought.”
hi how are ya! do you think u can do a spencer imagine based off the song half a heart by one direction -Anon
A/n: Sorry that it took so long to write this. I had major writers block and life got in the way. Sorry again. I hope you like it though.
Pairing: Reid x Reader
Word Count: 1100ish
So your friends been telling me
You been sleeping with my sweater
And that you can't stop missing me
“What do you mean it’s not working?”
“I mean that we aren’t compatible.”
Your eyes widen, Today, he wants to do this today. Your one-year anniversary and he wanted to start this mess now.
“Not compatible? Not compatible. Are you fucking kidding me, Spencer? From the person that said that we belonged together, that I am his one true love, you want to bring this shit up now.”
You could see the glisten in his eyes, the unshed tears threatening to break through. He hung his head low, clearing his throat, but not speaking. You anger diminish and all there was in hurt and confusion.
One year of friendship.
One year of love.
And he wants to throw all of that away.
For what?
You take a step towards him, putting your hand on his shoulder before he shrugged your hand off.
“Spencer, please? Why are you doing this to me? To us? I thought you loved me.”
“I do love you, with all my heart. And that’s why I need to end it. I can’t stand to see you get hurt because of me. I just couldn’t bear it if anyone hurt you or even killed you. I just can’t.”
Tears began to pour down his cheeks, his sobs shaking his body. He put hand over his mouth to silence his whines. Your heart began to break for the man that you loved. You have never seen him this vulnerable before. A little upset after emotionally damaged cases but never to this extent. He tries to keep himself grounded, to show you that he is strong physically and mentally.
But never this.
Never this broken.
“Spencer?”
You reach you hand to touch his shoulder but he quickly steps back. Whipping the stray tears from his cheeks, he made his way to the door. Opening it and stepping out half way before turning back to face you. His face neutral, showing no emotions at all.
“Y/N, this is for the best. It will make sense to you soon enough.” Closing the door with a soft click of the knob, you dropped to your knees. The events finally taking its toll.
Bet my friends been telling you
I'm not doing much better
Cause I'm missing half of me
One month.
It has been one month since you and Spencer broke it off. One month of not talking to him, or seeing his face. Hearing his laugh, feeling his lips upon yours. Feeling his body upon yours.
Sitting in your darkly lit room, you hug his sweater tightly around your body, the faint aroma of Spencer filling your nose, making your heart ache for the boy genius. Tears sprinkled your eyes as memories of your romantic escapade flash before you.
JJ and Garcia tried their hardest to get you through this terrible time but nothing worked. They would reassure you that he is also feeling depressed about the break up and that he is not doing so well either. But it all falls on death ears.
If he was feeling depressed, feeling like his heart has been ripped out of his chest and stomped on, then why do such a thing. Why destroy something that is so perfect? That is hurts to the point of death when it is taken away.
I'm half a heart without you
Though I try to get you out of my head
The truth is I got lost without you
You haven’t left your apartment, only to go to work and get groceries. Simple things that now felt like a choir. You already used all of your vacation days, and cannot request anymore time. Your boss was concerned, wondering about your physical health, since you normally come into work dress to impress and with a smile on your face. You brush him off with a faulty excuse and continue on with your days, working in a daze.
Getting tired of laying around, moping. You get up from your bed, tossing his sweater on the bed. Shuffling into your living room, glancing at the empty places where pictures frames of you and Spencer sat.
Every little thing reminded you of him.
Of the love that you once had.
Hearing a faint knock at your door, you groan internally, not wanting to deal with people today. You march to your front door, swinging it open to give who ever disturbed your grieving a stern talking to. But once you seen the crazy bed head and swollen face, eyes puffy and red from crying, and those deep chocolate brown eyes, everything went out the window.
He looked just as bad as you, maybe even worse. He stood in wrinkled and stained pajamas and robe, wearing only slippers on his feet. You didn’t care though, he was here.
Forget all we said that night
No it doesn't even matter
Cause we both got split in two
“Y/N…. I-I’m so s-sorry. I should have never did that to you. It was miserable without you. It took me a while and I tried to convince myself that you are better off without me but it was so hard to get over you. I realize that you are my whole world and I couldn’t live without you for another second. Randall Munroe estimated that if your soulmate is predetermined at birth, and they're born at roughly the same time as you, and assuming you make eye contact with two doze-.”
You take him by the nape of his neck, and pull him in for a deep and passionate kiss. Pouring the love and emotion that you were holding into the kiss. You felt the depression lift from your heart, making it swell with love and longing. Spencer wrapped his arms around your waist, pulling you even closer to him, wanting to feel your body heat. You separated your lips, panting and breathing each other air. You stare deep into his eyes, seeing the love shown in them. Cupping his cheek, you peck his lips.
“It’s okay, you have forever to make up for this. Just promise me that if you ever doubt yourself, that you’re not capable of protecting me from whatever unsub that you and the team are chasing. Talk to me, don’t just make up all the decisions for yourself. We are a team, remember that.”
“Yes ma’am.” He said, as he nuzzled his nose against your pulse point. Feeling his hands take hold to your thighs, he hoists you up, your legs wrapping around his waist. He kisses you again, more ferociously.
Hello again. Time for another 'Get Sophie', update. There are now five parts to the almost prequel to the 'Get Lucky' series. I'm just putting the finishing touches to part five now and then... I have a decision to make. Help me with your comments if you can:
Get Sophie 5 has an ending but it's not a natural ending. Basically it tails off as Get Lucky begins so I'm in two minds if I should continue writing the same story but from Sophie's point of view. Anyone who has read all of Get Lucky has all the spoilers already. You know how it goes. So do I continue with a part 6 and get to a better end point but knowing there will be no real surprises? Or do I end it with Part 5?
I'm not helping by asking you your advice before I've even posted the five parts but... I'd like to hit part 6, if I have to, while I'm still in the Get Sophie groove. If I get a lot of comments about just ending Get Sophie at part 5 as it gets into Get Lucky 2 then I'll start editing and the first part can be posted within a few weeks.
What I'll do, when I have the first part edited, is post it, then a week later I should have edited the second part and I'll post that... and so on. Posting the 5 parts weekly. Editing will take at least a week per part. So to give myself some time I'll release two more short stories.
In the mean time, please give me your opinions bellow, message me or DM me. I'll let you all know if the consensus is to go with a Get Sophie 6 or start editing then posting Get Sophie 1 and let it end without 'completing' Sophies story. Just to confirm: Her back story is done!
Hello everyone. I have some 'marmite' news for you all, some of you are going to love it. Some might hate it. But here it is:
I am writing Sophie's back story to 'Get Lucky'...
Get Abigail was fun to write because her character is not one I usually explore. She was driven! Her story tested the waters for Get Sophie. I started writing about Sophie's beginnings up through her teens, but I was finding it very difficult to make it marry up to how she is in Get Lucky. So, I ended up writing that bit first, when Sophie was in her thirties, to help me work out where I was going and how to get there. Feeling happier about things I went back to to write about her teenage years. This has become Get Sophie part 1, and it is finished.
Now I've got a dilemma... I have finished Get Sophie part 1 but it's now going to be at least a three part story. I'm writing part 2 now and part 3 is already mostly written as it interlaces with Get Lucky (and like I said, I wrote that first).
Do I post them one after the other when I've finished them all?
Or do I post part 1 now, knowing that I will not be able to write any other stories while I concentrate on part 2. There will end up being long gaps in between the posts? It could take weeks.
So the three parts I have planned are:
Get Sophie 1 - from the age of five to nineteen (mostly her teenage years)
Get Sophie 2 - her life in her twenties.
Get Sophie 3 - her life in her thirties.
...and there may be a part 4 if it is well received. If you can, please give me your thoughts. Personally, I'm loving how her back story is developing. I hope you like it!
It can be read as a story on its own but it is actually the character backstory for Abigail in my ‘Get Lucky’ series. When I write I like to put together a character backstory before I begin to plan out the main story. That's how it was for every character in ‘Get Lucky’. I decided, looking at my planning notes for Abigail, that her emergence in the main narrative could be better explained if I fashioned her tale around the backstory I had put together to help me write.
So my next questions are:
Would anyone like me to put together a story or two relating to any of the other characters in ‘Get Lucky’?
If so, which characters do you want to read about?
I am not going to go anywhere near Jerome as his tastes were far too inappropriate. (Spoiler: He was a low life and a nasty piece of work). I know Sophie was a popular character. It might be nice to explore Sophie's perspective, but her story rather obviously plays out in ‘Get Lucky’. There would be lots of repeated scenes (just from her perspective). It might not be anything new…
So please, let please me know yourthoughts and opinions with your comments below.
Perhaps I should just write new stories?
Many thanks for your time and input. As always I am so touched that my words seem to bring pleasure to so many people. x
The labour of love is over. The "Get Lucky" story is compete and I would love to know what people think, positive or negative, I'm desperate for feedback.
This thirteen part story is over 650,000 words long - well done if you've read them all! The story took a year to plan and write so I appreciate you sticking with it over the past seven months.
From my point of view, there are a number of glaring changes I made to the original plan. Spoilers ahead! The "Honeymoon" was originally the end of the story and that was way back at part 8! Obviously something major happened to ensure the honeymoon kept getting bumped until it arrived at the end of the Epilogue!
The major change was Ellen. I decided to make her completely irredeemable and have her leave the story, only to return, to be seen at the airport having reconciled with her parents during the trip to Aruba. Abigail was always going to be the replacement antagonist, stepping into the void left by Ellen as she tried to move up the ranks at the office. She was always going to blackmail everyone.
Obviously, Ellen came back much earlier than planned. This was entirely down to my readers both here and on WordPress. There was a massive outpouring of support for the waywood sister. They wanted her back, perhaps given a chance to repair the damage she caused and if I was going to redeem her in some worthy way... it was going to take a lot of writing. Hence the five further parts.
Did any of it jarr with readers?
Who were your favourite characters and why?
Finally, I did something that my readers always ask of me but I always decline: to not name the hero of the story. I get why, this means that male readers can place themselves in the events that happen. Strangely, even though the hero is only named once in part 1, no one had noticed or commented at all! It was a massive inconvenience to not use his name and it made writing very difficult.
Was having an 'un-named' main character worth it? Did you notice?
I hope you can get in touch, either reply to this post or send me a direct message. Constructive criticism only please and if you want to send some love and praise, that would be greatly appreciated. But if you have any thoughts about the "Get Lucky" series at all, then please let me know.
Next I'll be going back to some short stories! I have a few already written, in the editing stage, so expect them soon. Much love x
