One of the things that continues to be fascinating to me is how Marius really straddles the line of superstition, logic, athiesm, and polytheism.
See here, how Marius insists none of his impulses were based in a function of religion, but the terms used around TWMBK and the superstition he can't help be utilize makes it seem as if he views it to be supernatural, rather than natural (like himself. He is a vampire, but doesn't do much to make himself comparable to other vampires "the old GODS," or change their language to be less superstitious.)
Marius describes a touch of religious trauma, but he describes it as "nothing but superstition." To him, Akasha and Enkil as religious objects are NOT for worship, they are for POWER and CONTROL.
I finished Pandora a couple days ago but it did just hit me that Anne did introduce a creature that possessed a scarecrow through bees, begged Pandora wordlessly for an answer to death, and then Pandora just stood there to say "yeah, there's horrors and mysteries we can't account for, all of human knowledge is a made up of lies, best not stick around if you want any peace" and then Pandora just... left. And we get nothing from it again.
Just a crazy thing to end on, thank you Anne. Couldn't do absurdity without you.

Japanese Gothic really came for the people with mommy issues, daddy issues, family legacy issues, depression issues
Just issues in general, but definitely those issues
Sins of the father... a stain you can't clean. Sins of the mother... a tasteless meal.
Ashes to ashes, dust to dust
