Week 6 Reading
This weeks chapter was on reading and how to choose what to read. How academic writers read a bit of everything and how good writers create strategies to be a better reader. As for me I do enjoy to read, maybe not on a daily basis, and most certainly not an academic type of article or book but for my own pleasure. I like to read novels, love stories, crime and mystery, and also self motivation. I would say depending on the type of book I read I do have sort of a strategy. If what I’m reading is for academics I will break down the book, the title, the brief, and try to give myself a heads up. If it has a certain language and I don’t clearly understand the type of vocabulary I will pace myself a bit more than usual and try to understand better.
Sometimes I struggle and overthink what I'm reading, especially when reading things for this class. As for the videos that are being provided through the weeks I would say I'm a better visual learner and the Holy CRAAP video helped me understand better how to ask great research questions. Now the struggle will be how to word those questions correctly without creating an argument or asking those Google type of questions. Overall I am ready to learn more about asking good questions and becoming a better writer through the lit review assignment.
