How long will the read me project be open for?
Omg, you called by its name holy shit…
-cough- Right. But anyways, to answer your question, I will start making the book sometime in June but I will continue adding to it for as long as people keep submitting things.
(also yeah for those who haven’t noticed, I’ve been tagging all related posts #readmeproject in case you want to savior/track)
Why is it anonymous? (sorry for asking so many questions btw)
No, it’s fine, that’s a perfectly valid question. This is kind of a weird project.
Anyway, there are a few reasons for this:
1. So people can write whatever they want and I won’t know who it is. If someone wants to write something really personal like a confession or something, they won’t have to worry about any awkwardness or anything.
2. So that everyone’s words are equal. I know it’s not a pretty thing to say, but we all hold some people’s opinions higher than others, it’s just a fact of human psychology. This project is really important to me, and I wanted everyone’s words to mean just as much each others. Even if I don’t know you very well, or we haven’t talked in a long time, even if we got in a huge fight and swore we’d never speak again, anyone can say anything they want and it will mean just as much to me as if it was said by a crush or a hero, or someone whose opinion I hold very highly. Or hell, the same person could send me a hundred “I love you”s and I wouldn’t even know. That probably sounds either really conceited or really romantic, I don’t know which one, but I really kind of like the idea of not knowing for sure. :)
