#Repost @readwithpurpose with @get_repost ・・・ What jumped out at me in Matthew chapter 9 was how Jesus had compassion for the crowd of people. "When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd." The people lacked a good shepherd who loved their sheep, called them by name, protected them from wolves, led them to pasture, and rescued those who strayed. They longed for that shepherd and Jesus said the harvest is plenty but the workers are few. I find that people are many times receptive to Jesus but just need someone to help guide them and encourage them. Lord, give me the compassion to see people as you see them and to encourage and point others to you. Thank your for being our good shepherd who protects, leads, loves, rescues and calls us by name. . Credit to @readwithpurpose : What jumped out at me in 1 Timothy chapter 1 is Gods grace and mercy and how his power is displayed in us when he transforms our lives. "Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners—of whom I am the worst. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life." For some reason we sometimes feel like we have to be good enough to deserve Christs grace and love, but in fact God loves us as we are and because of that love, he works miracles in our lives and it has nothing to do with our efforts or us deserving it. There is nothing we can do to earn Gods love and grace...God gives it freely and we just have to accept it and believe in Christ. Its through His power alone that we become Christlike and righteous. But its through our past and mistakes that he works through us and displays His grave and mercy and IMMENSE patience. Paul considered himself the worst of sinners and yet God did amazing things through him. So he can also do ama,ing things through you and me...not because of our efforts but because of His power in us! All glory and honor to God alone! . What jumped out at you in 1Timothy chapter 1?
