### IMPORTANT COMMUNITY ANNOUNCEMENT ### We know we sound a bit like a broken record, but we're doing it because it's for you and your families. Just over ten years ago, legislation was passed in NSW calling for all houses to have, by law, one working smoke alarm installed on each level. Unfortunately smoke detectors only last for ten years, and that means there's probably tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of smoke detectors around NSW and indeed Australia that simply aren't working anymore. If you haven't checked your smoke alarm for a while, or if it had a yellow radioactive symbol on it, it's time to replace it with a newer, far more superior PHOTOELECTRIC smoke detector. It may seem like a pain to do, but it could just save your life or someone else's! Oh, and thus is a picture of a smoke alarm all but destroyed on the floor of a house, just after we'd put out a fire in the living room. We thought it might grab your attention. It might still be beeping, but is it working? The one in your house mightn't be any more useful than this pile of molten plastic. #fire #fires #smokealarm #smokealarms #realarm #smokedetector #smokedetectors #alarm #firefighters #firefighter #frnsw #housefire #melted #meltedsmokealarm #feuerwehr #feuerwehrfrau #feuerwehrmann #mudgeeguardian
