Nicole has been sleeping for almost two hours. After she had finished her academic essay, she felt so tired and decided to have a rest, but wasn’t aware of the time at all. When she woke up, she prepared a very nice herbal tea to calm herself a bit. Because the last few days have really been very stressful for her. She had to study some important exams and do her homework at the same time.
Since she has been dealing with some troubles about her accommodation, she couldn’t find enough time to study. Her landowner told her that he would kick her out of the house, because she hasn’t been paying the rent for the last two months. Her father wasn’t sending money to her anymore since the day he has lost his job. That’s why, she knew that she had to work and earn some money to pay her bills and specially the rent. She was feeling quite depressed and hopeless. If she had found a nice job, she could have survived easily.
It was so difficult to find a good job in her country because of the big economic crisis. She looked for a proper one everywhere; online or even from the newspapers, but couldn’t find any. So she admitted herself that there was nothing to do except leaving the school and returning to her hometown where she can find a job more easily. She should have acted more carefully when she found out about her father’s job issues. She could have seen that was coming and made a decision about leaving the school or not, but she always hoped that she could find a job easily and now it was too late for everything.
Nicole really didn’t know what to do. She had many achievements before and she got a scholarship in high school. She was a very successful student who always studied a lot to make progress. However, since she started the university, she realized that she just lost her enthusiasm and didn’t want to study much like in her high school years. In the beginning, university was just like a dream to her. She was having so much fun with her friends and never missed a single activity organized by the school. Those days were absolutely wonderful in every way, but passed so quickly. Now, she was feeling so lonely and thinking that nobody could help her about it. She had to find a way out though. Otherwise, she could lose everything she had. Her future could slip through her fingers completely unless she did something about it.
After a few days passed, Nicole saw an interesting ad on the school wall while she was walking through the class. It was about the theatre auditions. She has always been so interested in the theatre. She never missed a play in her hometown when she was a little girl. Her mom Juli used to accompany her all the time. They were so happy together before she lost her life in a very terrible accident. Nicole admired her mom a lot and never forgetted a single thing about her since the day she was gone.
As a final decision, she decided to take her chance on the auditions. There was nothing to lose for her, so she joined. Drama teacher first asked her to make some additions on the play he was going to give her. In the meantime, Nicole searched a lot about the play on the internet and gained very useful information. She made her additions in an advanced stage. And when the final day came, her teacher liked her study very much. Now, she had an access to the theatre club.
She showed a great performance. And everyone in the jury couldn’t take her eyes of her. It was a great performance with no question. That’s how Nicole finally found a way to earn money and also didn’t have to leave the school. She called her dad and told everything. He couldn’t be happier. At the end, Nicole’s bank account wasn’t empty anymore. And, she understood very well that no matter happens in our life we should always make an effort to make it better! (702 words)
