Get Fit or Get Hit - Dealing With Plateaus and Denial
Were going to Quentin Tarantino this story.
I take my big thing of Natural Peanut Butter and dump it into the trash.
rewind one week
Nick: “Babe! this peanut butter has 1 gram of sugar per serving, that’s like 5 less than any I’ve ever seen!”
Nikki: “That’s nice, but remember your not good with self control and peanut butter”
Nick: “Well i’m stronger now, i’m sure I can keep myself in check”
Please reread the second sentence.
This whole week has been a fun one. I’ve ran, I’ve fought and ate decently. Well that last statement is a half truth. While my meals were healthy and I was good with my usual no sugar/no soda, I had added snacking back into my diet. And since it was “just a spoon” of peanut butter it was easy to write off as nothing. Mega Satisfying and far more damaging than you think.
I don’t know about you guys but I’m pretty good at lying to myself. But when you really want to get things done you have to view reality, not the reality you want. No that granola bar with chocolate chips is not OK just cause it has dark chocolate instead of milk. No that sugar free pudding isn’t OK if you have 3 of them in a day. and no NICK just cause peanut butter is all natural and low in sugar its ok to eat a huge jug of it during a one week span.
Sometimes to get out of that plateau you need to figure out what is holding you there.
