I think that the price of salt really is that kind of book where you have to read the whole thing in order to understand and appreciate what’s going on I feel like it’s quite difficult to take one scene one moment separately I mean I have no trouble doing in for almost any other book than this one because I guess everything is just so interconnected and it makes sense only in relation with other scenes others moments it’s so clever it really is a smart book it’s like a massive webwork and I remember towards the end Therese talking about some knots and different nets where the one attached to Danny would lead to nothing because she doesn’t love him and ends up following the one that leads to Carol and this is like yes Carol is an enigma and she detangled everything because Carol is the answer also the number of times the name Carol is repeated within the book is astonishing to me
