I just saw a post complaining about fanfics in which characters call each other "baby" or similar endearments when those characters would never ever call each other that (and I get that complaint, that kind of thing easily ruins a fic completely). And all I could think was "well, the pairing I've been obsessing about for the past week may not actually be canon, but ONE OF THEM CANONICALLY CALLS THE OTHER BABY BWAHAHA". Just kill me now. I have a situation.
