Sol, happy Thursday-Sunday-Sickness! 😂
My question is how do their social personalities differ from how they act when they're alone? Do any of your OCs have more than one public personality? (looking at you Isaiah 🧐🧐)
That's a very smart question, Soup😁
Isaiah has several of them. He can be social and charming at gatherings, he can be focused and scary and serious as Executioner, he can be cold and deadly during a confrontation, friendly and jovial during pack dealings. Several different masks he uses as he sees fit for important situations. Alone he is more neutral and he hardly ever relaxes, so his go to expression at home looks very calm and contemplating. He feels a lot and he files that emotion up for later so he can be attentive and attuned to the person he is talking to. True chameleon. But he likes switching and he likes being able to do it well, being what the person currently needs. Getting it right, so to say. He has one innocent, playful side to him that's curious and easily excited when very very relaxed, it's the rarest face of them all. I can't decide if he is introvert or extrovert 🤔 he might just be ambivert—he is fine with people but he likes being alone too. Quiet company with someone or deep talks are his favourite, but he would miss lively gatherings and new aquintances if he did that for too long.
Seline actually has some too. When alone or relaxed, she is thinking, which translates into scary glares😂. When with people she trusts, she can be incredibly talkative and what she dubs as "overwhelming", getting passionate about whatever topic she is currently researching. When giving lectures, she has a confident, glowing persona on that she enjoys but that's exhausting. She also atunes to the audience (much bigger one though) to see when to slow down and when to pick up or pause, to get their attention. Around others in general, it depends on her current emotional reserves. When good, she is overly polite, considerate and uptight. When running out, she is zoning out, glaring or glued to a notebook or phone, trying to survive the interaction and get home.
Hector, Dylan and Rip don't really act any different with others than they would alone. Hector is always dialed up to the extreme, softed these days by Olive, but not consciously and just for her. Dylan can be a lot more wild and loud with his friends, especially online, but he doesn't necessarily change a "persona".
Rip doesn't act differently, but he is a lot more tense and careful around others, which exhausts him. It warrants a long climb onto the roofs then.
Kieran dials up his intensity according to the situation, and is skilled at this. He can be charming and sneaky when he wants to and really annoying when he doesn't. He doesn't bother with it these days, he would have to care a lot to do it again. He likes who he is, others be damned.
I'm not so sure about Alessia, I need to write get a bit more to be sure. I get the impression that in her natural state and around people she likes, she is sharp and bold. Around wolves that could be useful to finding her brother, she gets a lot more self-conscious and shy. She completely redesigned herself since her childhood and sometimes it confuses her. Is she who she was, who she refuses to be, or is she living up to the person she wants to become? Would her new persona be useful with wolves? Probably not.
Olive does a similar thing to Kieran—she doesn't hide per se, but dials down on her natural state out of shyness. Her calm inspired state when drawing is her most confident.
I don't think Arnie's natural personality was so teasing and provocative as it is now. But he developed and grew into it over the years and doesn't know what he would be without it, so he doesn't worry about it at all, lol. These days he is pretty much the same with everyone and alone.
