Since Edelgard and Rhea act as foils, maybe CF's ending is supposed to be Edelgard altering history to suit her own purposes much like how Rhea did in the past? She can't suppress or change the entire truth, but she can bend it so that she looks as good as possible and her reign appears to benefit the people more than it actually does. Maybe there's hope that someone else down the line in history will investigate and uncover the truths Edelgard obscured as well.

Ohhh I really like that! It can really tie everything together, that to the end Edelgard is just Rhea But Actually Tyrannical :O

so story about the japanese exchange student in my class who likes voltron: she's apart of the japanese culture club and i went to the meeting tonight and she saw the lockscreen on my phone (it's an edit of keith with 愛してる) above him and she got excited about the scene. so i showed her the homescreen, which was a matching shiro edit, and i explained that i shipped the two. and she said that she ships and perfers KL herself but was totally ok with SK and even watched the japanese dub just because she wanted to hear keith say i love you in japanese. and she then happily talked to me about how she saw the scene as romantically coded in the japanese dub even tho she does ship KL and honestly... love that girl... she the MVP of this fandom...
