here's a jason fact: i've known (some) sign language my whole life (because my mom used baby me as her thesis that teaching babies sign language helps them learn to speak quicker (it does)) and most of my family uses it pretty regularly--not for like, complete communication but, you know, if someone can't hear or whatever. my parents would use it to talk to each other if they didn't want the kids to hear and me and my sister would finger-spell things to each other during church, stuff like that. but basically lately i keep using it around my friends, like, signing "i love you" to them and shit and then being confused for a sec when they don't understand.
#sign language is like#really useful!#and i honestly believe that everyone should learn some#like#at least learn the alphabet#that's about as far as my knowledge goes aside from some specific words#but like#it is genuinely useful#not to mention it would make things so much easier for deaf and hard of hearing ppl#and ppl who can't talk ?#like i went thru a period of time where i'd go nonverbal fairly often#and i'd have to type shit out on my phone to talk#but when i was home i could sign to my mom#and it worked out v well !#anyways#good morning
