I think this was the interview Toni Graphia said was the one that alerted her to Caitriona’s true character as an actor; her willingness to really get into a part and work to truly understand the character she is going to play and the way she will react to certain situations. The rest, the wonderful chemistry test (wasn’t there another part? Will we get that on the Season 4 DVD? Please? ) was just a prelude to the way Caitriona’s really understands and embodies Claire Beauchamp Randall Fraser. 

I wish i had read the books, first; I could have formed my own view of how Claire looked. But now I can’t imagine any other actor playing this role.
