although plot is very much in development and not established we’ve discussed how eve is a queer allegory, particularly their dynamic with the entity, whom for the sake of convenience i’ll call “vev” (eve but the letters are flipped, might be canon dunno yet). vev’s species inhabit the vessels of others and rely on them to remain hidden. the reason they stay hidden is because their purpose is related to the overtaking of the realm. they are made to “destroy.” or at least that’s what we’ve discussed as of now. point is, vev and eve’s dynamic is interesting because it’s not until the story starts that eve realizes that she is not alone in her body. there is another creature living within them, and they are not happy about it. it’s terrifying and strange, it’s something she’s not used to or comfortable with. but over time, they get along and she learns to manage it. and ends up embracing it. this could be a perfect way of describing/representing queer identity (and they are queer themself !!!). there could also be other ties regarding religion and their ethnicity, but that would have to be dug more into. eve as a protagonist tho is very interesting to me because of how she learns to accept that there is an otherworldly entity living in their vessel and there’s nothing she can do about it. after all, vev leaving would likely lead to their death (there’s more to it as well but i don’t wanna spoil everythang). and it’s already stressful enough being a teenager in high school !!! trying to figure out what you’re going to do with your life, trying to find yourself, trying to keep up with everything that’s going on, all of that yada yada. vev revealing itself more and more because its becoming more attached to eve + choosing not following the rules of their kind is also very interesting, considering these creatures are programmed for a singular purpose (which is something that is “activated” and they go into a completely different state when it does, something like that). vev finds eve to be an interesting person and molds itself more and more to her, to the point where the entity is just like them, personality included. and to eve this is even more strange, because it appears that this creature doesn’t have a mind of its own. but then again, vev has been with eve for a long time and knows everything that eve has gone through. they understand each other and can bond over it. but then again, what the heck is this creature doin here in the first place????1 and why does eve have to be involved !?1?1? so many questions oooouu…
there’s a lot to think about and a bunch of ideas floating around, but this is some of the stuff i think about a lot :3c overall i’d like eve to feel relatable and human, and likely contrast that with vev even though it acts human (or at least. for the time being)
