An eyebrow raised, but being the slight pessimist he was ( and trying to make a joke about Patrick drinking all of them on his own ) he asked, "You gonna share one of those with the guy who will have to carry you out of here?"
THERE'S A LOOK of pure annoyance as she smacks his hand away. “ don't say “ DTF ” aloud, patrick, you sound stupid. just actually say the words. ” which part was she more annoyed about? the usage of an stupid acronym aloud, the fact that he was definitely trying to bait her, or the fact that he was right? probably all three, honestly. “ you're insufferable. ” & yet, she's not leaving. gwendolyn remains in her spot, still putting up with, what she'd describe as, his bullshit. “ what aren't you baiting me for? ”

Non si tratta del tennis che vediamo oggi a Wimbledon. Parliamo del Real Tennis (o Jeu de Paume), l’antico antenato di questo sport nato nei monasteri francesi del XII secolo. Un gioco complesso, tattico e incredibilmente affascinante, che divenne la vera passione di Enrico VIII d'Inghilterra.
Il re amava così tanto questo sport da far costruire un campo dedicato proprio nel celebre Hampton Court Palace – un impianto che, incredibilmente, esiste ed è in funzione ancora oggi!
Cosa rendeva il Real Tennis così speciale? 🏰 Un campo unico: Si giocava al chiuso, con mura che facevano parte integrante del gioco. 🎾 Attrezzatura diversa: Racchette asimmetriche e palline meno elastiche rendevano ogni scambio una sfida tecnica di altissimo livello. 📜 Origine del nome: Pare che il termine "tennis" derivi dall'esclamazione francese "Tenez!" (Prendete!), che il battitore gridava prima di servire.
Scoprire il Real Tennis significa tuffarsi in un pezzo di storia rinascimentale dove sport e potere si incontravano. È un patrimonio che continua a vivere, lontano dai riflettori del tennis moderno ma carico di un fascino senza tempo.
