idk i have a lot of thoughts about it but yeah i do think he is mad i agree. but he also is a kind person so :’) i mean he cries for /ovan/ who hurt him beyond measure so.

yes exactly! tbh all things considered Haseo is probably one of the more forgiving people in the franchise. in the end kite probably doesn’t have much to worry about in that regard- haseo is justified in his anger, but kite would think it’s so much more than what it is. He’d likely expect outright hatred, i mean in xxxx he had a big clusterfuck of a nightmare about how even his closest friends hated him for what happened, and that was his closest friends like orca and blackrose. granted that was cubia’s influence as well but cubia had to have something to work from.

It’ll be something he’ll likely work through as he learns more about haseo and R:2, and learns that haseo can be an ass but he’s not a hateful person.

also cubia????? is actively stalking him. he’s a lot tamer in g.u. cubia is out for blood in the first saga. and it’s creepy. he just appears and kite’s eyes just get huge in the cutscenes and like – blackrose asks if they can beat cubia and he’s like ‘i don’t know’ and just damn

GOD OKAY THIS IS ANOTHER thing I nerded out about to one of my non-.hack friends. We were talking about good ways to introduce villains, and I used Cubia as an example of a great way to do it. cut bc kind of long

Like we just saw Kite take down Skeith- this child just beat Cyber Satan. He has established that he is powerful and determined to do what he can to see this through to the end. Then things blow up, and at first he’s observing everything with an apprehensive curiosity....then he looks up and before you, the viewer, see what it is, you just see this devil killing beast kid looking absolutely terrified.

And that’s such an effective way to build up a villain/boss! Sowing the character’s reaction to the thing before they show the thing. Like Skeith was such a huge threat and Kite wasn’t going to back down and he went for Skeith and won! He seemed unstoppable in his determination (and anger when Skeith data drained aura). But then the next scene, this boy who killed his worst enemy is struck petrified to the point where he can’t even run- he can just try to back away before Cubia yawns and blasts him in one hit. So now we have the boy who beat the biggest threat up to that point, now completely unsure of if he and his friends can even try to get past this beast
