I wonder if Desire secretly loves Aoba like Ren does but has a hard time showing it. He might even be angry and jealous when Aoba gets close to anyone else and ends up taking out his frustration on Aoba. That’s why he wants Aoba to acknowledge him, because he actually adores him and it frustrates him to no end when Aoba ignores his existence. The two times that Desire managed to take control of Aoba’s body, he could have easily destroyed that part with his Scrap since Scrap belongs to Desire, but he didn’t. He just kept him suppressed because even though he claimed to wish that Reason would disappear, he didn’t really mean it. I don’t think he would actually go through with it. I believe he would be utterly miserable if Reason was gone for good.
