Integrate iPad apps with Reason 7
The iPad and the tablet has been years in the making in terms of finding a spot that are acceptable in the computing world. This comes down to what the tablet is built to do and what it is not built to do. They are small, portable, and light – so they are meant to be picked up and carried. However, that also raises the question of the limitations which hold it back from becoming the main app people run to. Developing a music making program that people can take seriously is challenging because there is just too much to cram into a small size. Developers have realized that they can do a much better job of making an extension of their software, rather than trying to replace or mimic what is already on the PC. Propellerhead’s Reason is no small program to use. In fact, I seriously doubt that the iPad’s screen has enough space to display the entire menu inside the program. The guys at Propellerhead know this as well. What they have done, is used the iPad as a wireless MIDI controller, so that the DAW can be triggered from a distance – yet the full control still rests in the desktop. http://www.musicradar.com/tuition/tech/how-to-integrate-ipad-apps-with-reason-7-via-wireless-midi-581878
