1000 Reasons to Love The Mandalorian (5/1000)
Ok, four reasons about Mr. Mandalorian himself. Time to mention some other characters. So... Kuiil. I love him - if it was not obvious.
Specifically Kuiil having these unexpected (grand)parent skills. But I guess that accidental adoption is just the working title of The Mandalorian. Because seriously... Have you seen his interations with Din? He straight up look at this armour-clad-mess that had an arm chewed by a blurrg and decided to help him with everything FOR FREE. (I know: Din helped him as well and money most likely doesn’t mean much on this planet, but still...) Because why not? This kid seems helpless [He’s injured, but he’s not helpless... :D].
This interaction they had in the 7th episode really looks like Mando came here to talk with his kind-of-mentor/kind-of-dad. (He starts with a shy: “I’ve run into some problems”... and Kuiil responds: “I figured as much. Why else would you return?”... The first part sounds like: well, I know you, boy, so it’s not surprising. And the second like a grumpy father that thinks you don’t visit often enough).
We also have his almost father-son relationship with IG-11... I guess it’s closer to a master-servant scenario, but at the same time he reprogrammed him and taught him a lot, so it’s not just about work. I bet there were some parental feelings involved as well. (and I’m not crying!)
And at the end we have Kuiil and The Baby. Which is a truly underrated relationship. I love rewatching the scene when Kuiil feeds him before the attack. Also we have this cute moment when Kuiil is making a new pram and the kid is watching him from the background, fascinated with the sparks. It’s adorable... Also also... when they get separated in the 7th chapter, Kuill takes the baby in such a gentle and delicate way... ;-; He really could’ve been his cool grandpa...
