Fred was still out of it, the amount of blood he lot and pain killers he was under kept him in a haze. Even though he couldn’t exactly think strait it was still a good thing over all. 

Seeing FP walk into the room felt like a dream to him, like he was being visited by a ghost. It could have been a mix of his near death experience along with the drugs that he started to feel a breakdown. “I’m sorry, F...”He choked out his voice still not strong enough to go louder than a whisper.

    “ You do realize you’re the only adult here right ? “   So he spotted his dad standing there and for the longest time he’s been trying to figure out if this was his dad trying hard, or if there were ulterior motives.  and he knows not to think of his dad like that, but he can’t help tonight; everyone was trying to PROVE A POINT.

growing up, f.p. was best friends with fred, therefore he sort of became a big brother figure for mary.   they’d look out for each other, protecting one another from bad situations.   f.p. was the one who set her   &   fred up, after gladys brought mary along to one of f.p.’s gigs in the southside.
