Hey! When I first saw this ask I was like “hey, I think I answered this question before!” So dug through my archive, but was unable to find it…when I realized this was something I answered before making this blog. ahaha. Of course there’s spoilers so…

To be exact, it’s not like Ouma directly confesses his love to Saihara, but states it while he was alone.

Chapter 4, during the VR world scene just after Saihara leaves the VR world and just before Ouma himself leaves it! It’s a very brief scene but also entirely plot-relevant and unskippable, which is exactly why it first caught my attention. I translated the scene here before if you’re interested!
