What ideas do you have for rebelcaptain fic after waching Andor? I want to know how you imagine them meeting. Do they get along with each other or butt heads? I can't wait for you to write it. I already know it'll be amazing because it's coming from you!

so as I said I have three different ideas, but in each of them, Jyn is aged up so she and Cassian are around the same age

1) Jyn ends up on Ferrix after Saw abandons her. I think this is the one I have the least concrete ideas for, but it's basically just her finding a home there, getting to know and form connections with all the people, making friends, meanwhile falling in love with disaster Cassian along the way

2) none of the Luthen or Pre-Mor stuff happens but Cassian gets off Ferrix regardless to go look for his sister and ends up meeting Jyn when she tries to pickpocket him. actually not just tries, she probably succeeds, but he won't give up that easily either so he goes after her to get his credits back. however they're confronted by a third enemy (guards? a street gang? idk) so they end working together to fight them and they get talking afterwards and she actually agrees to help him find his sister. I think this is probably the darkest and most serious in tone

3) Jyn grows up on Ferrix from the start (probably no Saw in this, idk), so she and Cassian are childhood friends and literally the devilish dream duo. everyone in Ferrix knows them for being a chaotic mess, and you almost never see one without the other. like if Cassian shows up, you know Jyn’s gotta be nearby as well, and vica versa. I think I'd set this in their teens, like 16-17, and make it a friends to lovers story with some misunderstandings and mutual pining. this is definitely the most light-hearted one of them all and probably the one I have the most ideas for

cassian "pyramid scheme" andor vs jyn "crypto bro" erso

both of them scamming rich assholes who deserve it <3

au time, they meet by trying to scam the same person and both are unwilling to let go of their scheme, "he's my mark" "no he's mine I was here first" so they start trying to one up the other and also undermine their credibility, it's all out war, let the best man win

except ofc it ends with both of them exposed and the mark tells them to fuck off before he calls authorities so they quickly scurry off and Cassian realizing that all they did was mess up their own con offers to buy her a drink as a peaceoffering

the rest is history

(their honeymoon is paid by going back to scam that dude for real this time who of course doesn't even remember them with their different names and altered appearances)

There is a list forming in my head of people Cassian scammed, with three columns labelled success and failure and not sure. Jyn is on the not sure column because when she found out, she made Cassian pay her back. Han Solo somehow got successfully scammed column twice and still doesn't know it was Cassian.

Jyn was pissed about him scamming her but when she finds out about Han, she's so proud that she forgives him right away

she also tries to get him to go back to his old ways, with her thief skills and his scamming skills, they'd be unstoppable and rich in no time, but Cass is like, "Jyn.... no. (broody stare) I put that part of my life behind me."

Cassian already sees himself in her because he knows his own story and he knows hers, but Jyn doesn't... not until later, and then she too realizes how similar they are 🥺

Post war scams against ex-war profiteers for Jyn and Cassian include selling refridgerators big enough to fit BB-8 inside through 2 AM informercials. Nobody sees it coming, it's very effective, though only they seem to know why so many marks fall for it and lose so much of their ill gotten gains.

I imagine it'd be Cassian's idea and Jyn's unsure at first because really.... you think this will work? but Cass's like, hey you were the thief, I was the scammer, I know what I'm doing so trust me. and lo and behold, it works! Jyn's amazed but never doubts his scamming skills again
