hi sissi! 💕 here to help with the boredom curse! idk if you've talked about this yet, but what kind of music would helena and thad listen to? and are there any songs you associate with them (even if it's not necessarily something they would listen to)?

yay, my favorite subject!!

let's start with the second question because that's easier: my top song for them is Work Song by Hozier. perhaps a cliché but it really fits!! my other favorite choices are Somebody to Die For by Hurts, and Rewrite the Stars by Zac Efron and Zendaya.

for the first question, the difficult part is that the series is early 1960s-inspired, and I'm not super familiar with 1960s music so I'm not sure about specifics but I can talk about the vibes.

Helena would like emotional and romantic songs, but not too heartbreaking. She has enough tragedy in her real life. The sweet spot would be songs that are both a little aching but also hopeful.

And Thad likes emotional pain. He'd like melancholic songs, darker, sadder than Helena's type. He's also a romantic so he'd a secret soft spot for songs with longing and tragic romance.

In modern era, though, I think Helena would be into Florence and the Machine, Phoebe Bridgers, Birdy, Aurora, The Civil Wars... And for Thad, I could actually see him being into Hozier tbh. Also maybe The National, Sufjan Stevens, etc.
