Hm. Resurrection is known to have a lot of different side effects. (I think there is a table for it but I can't find it.) Do one of these side effects explain Virgil's change in behavior?
(Roman nods, and answers in thought,)
Roman: ...I think I’ve seen this before. I may have a spell I can use to cure it, but I won’t be able to try until tomorrow...
(Roman frowns, suddenly nervous,)
Roman: ...Uhhh...if I can get it to work.
Evil Scientist Lady says emotions get in the way of scientific research, which is ironic seeing as she's clearly driven by sadism that clouds her logic. 1. She kills her employees. Obedience through fear is fragil, as they will take opportunities to betray her if they think they can and an employee who knows they are on the chopping block may feel they have nothing to lose. 2. She left Thomas alive, which is a huge mistake. She even admitted the reason was she wanted him to suffer. People work their hardest when they have something to protect. 3. Experimenting on people. People are going to notice people vanishing eventually and if you keep a behavior up indefinitely, you will be caught eventually. Her motivator is sadism, not the pursuit of knowledge and she's clearly nowhere near as smart as she thinks she is if she can't realize this. What does she even hope gain from this research? Will anybody benefit from what she's learning?
yeah she has . . . she has a lot of issues we’ll put it that way
she’ll get her comeuppance don’t worry there’s a reason i tagged “eldritch horror patton” on this fic
Virgil, your core might not be the source of the corruption, but it might be infected with whatever is causing the corruption.
Virgil nods: “Maybe.... maybe I am... maybe my core is also corrupted, how... how do I fix that though?”
I find it concerning that you added a question mark to "friendly outsiders."

Wait... Logan's head is sewn on...you can draw on his face... and is "machine washable." Is Logan a large sentient doll of some sort?
You might be onto something~
Dr. Seuss's "The Great Butter Battle" i A world is divided into two, based on what side of the bread you like you're butter on. The butter side up had a guy who used a whip to keep the other side off but they got a better weapon. They kept one upping each other until one side creates a weapon of mass destruction before realizing the other side has one too. It ends with the guy's son questioning who will attack first. Filled with symbolism and the ambiguous ending drives the point home.
Oh I know that one! One of my students brought it in for show and tell once. I had never heard of it prior, but gosh I had such chills when I read the last sentence. I almost couldn’t believe how bold it was.
I thought at first it was just released by Dr. Seuss’s company, but the U eyes meant that Dr. Seuss had a direct hand in it. Did a little research on it, and it was very much meant to be a commentary on war, more likely the Cold War between the US and the Soviet Union.
There’s a television special of this one too :D
Sorry if I'm bothering you with so many questions, I'm really invested in your Fae!Patton AU. You said Virgil comes from a long line of magic users/fae hunters. Do any of his family still hunt fae? And if they did what would Virgil do if one of them tried to hurt/kill Patton?
His parents are ACTIVE fae hunters and he and his younger brother Thomas have tried very hard not to let them know about or even meet Patton.
