im like... really tired of people trying to tell me how i'm supposed to relate to gender, as if they're me and they understand how I think and what i've experienced

like you cant sit there and tell me how I'm supposed to identify and what privileges I get and what privileges I don't get because if i hear it one more time im going to blow my lid

and i feel like tumblr, as wonderful as it is, can be a really frustrating place for a trans person who doesn't fit EXACTLY into the binary - like, you'd think that people on here would be understanding of the nuances of gender and how not everything is black and white, but tumblr's love for blanket statements seems to encompass gender as well. so many people on here like to say "gender is a spectrum :- )" but if you identify as something in between like, male and nonbinary, suddenly other people can tell you EXACTLY how you're supposed to feel and act and present

like i'm sorry but you haven't lived my life, you don't know how I personally feel and relate to gender, and you CANNOT tell me how I'm supposed to feel. there's deep complex feelings that relate to gender and i cant help but feel like so many people on here like to ignore that just to seem like the Moral Authority On Everything. its so fucking performative.

yall seem to love pitting people against each other while making yourself seem like the most Righteous Of Them All instead of looking for solutions that actually address the present and look for tangible change

hey so bad news guys

I know I turn 18 on sunday but it’ll probably be a while before I can get the tattoo. my wisdom teeth have been really bothering me (I was up until 6am last night from the pain and 7am the night before and I’m going through ibuprofen like its candy) and I have to save every penny I get for the surgery since my insurance runs out on sunday. it’s gonna be about $1000 and I also have to pay for my root canal which is another $400. also I’m going to have to start paying full price for my prescriptions…. basically I have no money right now I hate that I even have to make this post but I know that if I didn’t I’d gets shit ton of anon hate because apparently a tattoo of a meme is the most important thing in the world to y'all

tldr I’m getting the tattoo but it might be a while

it makes me so mad that people are so fucking awful for no reason. i just got an extremely sexually invasive and downright disgusting anon message. i blocked the person, but i shudder to think that that person is out there and is able to do this to more people. it was so bad that i now feel like im going to throw up. im actually in the bathroom just in case. and you know that these people who do these things- they don’t do it because they think its okay. they know its wrong, they want to upset you. they want to hurt you. and the fact that i had just made a post about how much i hate sexually invasive asks shows me that they only sent it because they wanted to upset me. when have i ever done anything that would warrant something like that? why are there people in the world who intentionally hurt other people? why are there people who enjoy hurting and upsetting people so much that they go out of their way to do it? i just dont understand. im a sexual abuse survivor. why would anyone be that cruel just for fun? why would anyone even find that fun? how can people intentionally hurt other people just for the sake of hurting them? i cant wrap my brain around it. and they’re not the only person who has found it funny and/or entertaining to send me things just to upset me. there was no purpose behind it, no point they were trying to prove, no reason to send it other than to upset me. i know that they cant send me anything else because i have them blocked, but that just means they can’t send me anything and they will turn to someone else to be cruel to instead. god im sorry this is so long i know i dont usually make posts this long or grammatically correct but i just cant believe that people do these things and they hurt people on purpose and they enjoy doing it and its fun to them even though they know they could be sending that person into relapse or a mental breakdown or an anxiety attack or a PTSD episode or something... they find it entertaining and thats horrifying to me
