The dark hedgehog tilted his head at the blonde hedgehog. She looked strangely familiar... Then again, he was starting to think everyone looked familiar these days--

No. That energy signature. This was another alternate of Maria.

Guilt seized him again and he quickly started to move away. He had to go. He had to fix things. He could never take back his mistake, but he could do his best to make up for it, now...

He didn't truely wonder how Maria was still alive in other universes. All he knew was that the death of his own Maria was his fault.

Another hedgehog. It was odd. For some reason, he didn't see hedgehogs he didn't know much anymore. Silver was the first in some time; maybe the species was becoming scarcer in number after so long.

This hedgehog's fur appeared blonde, and she bore an uncanny resemblance to someone Shadow once knew, at least as far as his possibly unreliable memory knew. But he knew it wasn't, it couldn't be her. Maria was dead, had been for 250 years.

"You. You look like someone I used to know," Shadow spoke to the female hedgehog that was near him. "A long time ago."

Normally, Shadow wasn't a fan of small talk, or meeting new people, but this girl was an exception, perhaps because she looked so much like Maria. "My name is Shadow. Who are you?"
