My body is like a train that’s broken down in the middle of nowhere.
Each Dr’s appointment is a new announcement of what ISNT wrong with the train and it takes longer and longer for specialist mechanics to arrive.
They keep telling me “at least your train didn’t derail” but I still can’t move.
I often wish my train did derail, at least then I’d know what the problem is and you could either fix/treat it or get scrapped.
It’s been 2 and a half years and I’m still nowhere closer to getting answers or any sort of treatment. My life is spent half sleeping half laying in bed in too much pain and fatigue to even sit up. The only time I leave the house is for the Dr’s or to drag myself shopping every Friday because if I don’t do something mildly productive I’ll go insane.
I know the average diagnostic time for a chronic illness is 8 years, I’ve finally been accepted by the only autonomic nervous specialist hospital in the UK. But the waiting is driving me insane, every day should feel like a step closer but it just feels like I’m still a train that’s broken down and there’s no one coming to fix me
