Bring Free Books Back to Baltimore
There is a wonderful place in north Baltimore called The Book Thing of Baltimore where anyone could go and take as many free books as they wanted. It helped stock personal reading libraries and underfunded schools alike. Unfortunately, yesterday they had a major fire. It went down about how you would expect a fire in an old warehouse full of books to go, and they have lost just about everything. Please, if you could go to their website and click the donate button on the left or reblog to help them rebuild and bring this valued resource back to a struggling community.
They are a registered charity so all donations are tax deductible (US). Please do not send books right now (3/3/16) because they don’t have anywhere to put them. I can let you know when they are ready to start replacing what was lost.
I love this place. When I moved to Baltimore, I didn’t know anyone and I had nothing to do. So, I went over there to shelve books. There was no AC and it was July, but it was wonderful. They fed me pizza and we chatted about books and I started to feel at home in my new city. Please help keep this place alive , even if all you can do is reblog, for me and for all of Baltimore.
Destroy and Rebuild
Id like to think when someone enters your life, you and that person create a world. You do, say, and go about things in a way you may not outside of that world. Your world may expand as it includes like minded ppl and sometimes not. And sometimes we dont want our worlds touching or even give hints of its existence. When my journey with a woman ends, I like to destroy and rebuild. Some people like to linger in that world hoping something will happen. Some people will step outside the world and look from a telescope. Some people will just replace that person in that same world and will continually do so indefinitely. I tend to blow that world up lol. Its not a bitter detonation. I just dont think its healthy trying to maintain a galaxy of dying worlds. But anyway, i say that to say this….when i start dating someone, thats me starting from scratch. I dont want to do the same things I did with someone else. I dont want to go to the same places. I dont want to think the same. Im creating a new world. I dont know where to go. I dont know what to do. Its all new. I mean I could easily say I know this romantic spot and this really nice restaurant and this cool place and take charge and be the decisive “man” women dream of…but you would also have to know that I know all of these things because I experienced them first with someone else. Its not “ours.” its not new. You essentially become the latest contestant of the “ideal dating experience.” And THAT is not the organic foundation of a world im trying to create. Be clueless with me. Explore. Wonder. More importantly, its not the what, its the who. The question should be as simple as “wanna do something?” and the answer should be as simple as “yes.” (I’ll even accept “yep” “k” and “sure”)
good ideas in this sermon.....im posting this for people who think that their marriages are over and cant be rebuilt or reconciled......for those who think they cant get back with someone that they divorced,....especially if they have children with their ex.
THE BEAST.
