Tomorrow is Yule - the Winter Solstice - the shortest day - the day upon which we Pagans call back the light of Spring, of the Sun, of life and hope ... of promise. Each year being a cyclic battle between the cold powers of Autumn and Winter against the sunlight of Spring and the Summer months. The battle embodies by the Oak King and the Holly King who wrestle for power over life in Earth. After tomorrow the light begins to return but not with out our aid - for our ancestors knew that we are part of the cycle and our power in contributing to the turning of the wheel of the year essential if the cycle is to carry on. Tomorrow then light a candle and call back the light, the light without - the light of the Sun, of Spring and of Summer and the light within.
