I don't know about you, but I don't see the point in anything that DOESN'T have a majority female cast. Especially one like this one, we've got old women and older women! And trans rep!!! And a dog!!! And the man (eugh) rightfully both looks hot and is pathetic, as he ought to be.

Historical fiction, magic, spiritualism, and a kickass soundtrack, give this one a watch!

Just spent several hours going through Every Single Rec in the tournament with my partner and getting a guess for nearly all of them (and at least commenting on the ones we were stumped on, or throwing out the first thing we thought of). Absolutely not guaranteed to be good guesses, but here they are...

("every single rec" guesses/commentary, part 1 of 4, recs #129-#144):

#129: Maybe a documentary or musical of some sort?? It sounds lovely but I can't quite place it.

#130: Psych...? Maybe...?

#131: I saw someone else's guess for Spore and completely, wholeheartedly agree.

#132: Partner guesses Severance. ...We have not watched Severance.

#133: Based off of honestly very little, I am guessing Guilty Gear.

#134: I say Spongebob Squarepants. Partner says Animaniacs.

#135: Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc from me, Divergent from my partner.

#136: Partner and I both agree on Ace Attorney, but not sure which one/specifics.

#137: Was briefly considering this could be Wicked or just generally The Wizard of Oz universe, but really have no idea bout the trans rep. The Man (tm) would be The Wizard, of course.

#138: Friends guessed this as Seraph of the End, Danganronpa, and Maze Runner.

#139: Best guess is.... X-Men? I feel like it's familiar, but at the same time I can't quite place it.

#140: Partner says KPop Demon Hunters (which I agree with wholeheartedly) or Heathers The Musical.

#141: Partner guesses The Owl House, I guess Revolutionary Girl Utena (which I know only very little about from dashboard osmosis).

#142: Partner says Les Miserables, I think some kind of specific history textbook but absolutely no idea what.

#143: My best guess is maybe The Odyssey? Particularly because of the "vast, centuries-spanning fantasy epics".

#144: First thought is AO3-- second and more reasonable thought, is the SCP.... wikis? I don't know where they put this stuff. Wherever SCPs are from.

It's an action story, It's got the most badass disability rep you've ever seen, it's got a cool af girlboss stickin it to her jerkass male coworkers, it's got cute animals!

Are you tired of the "perfect prosthetic" trope? Look no further, because not only does the mc not have perfect prosthetics, he doesn't /have/ prosthetics! Because, as this (Media) shows, sometimes people don't have the money or resources for that!

And!!! It doesn't stop him from being both incredibly smart and clever and, well, badass!!! Awesome!

other anon's Genshin reasoning was more reasonable than they realized, I think, at least on the catgirl front - one of the first characters you meet in Fontaine is a literal catgirl (Lynette, the free 4 star you're given when you arrive at the region)

Now that rec #138's been revealed, I can finally say-- a few days after I submitted that rec, I realized I totally could have mentioned the guns and explosives. Or the fact that Homura seems to steal said weaponry from a gang (the first time). I think I did overshoot a little with how unguessable I made it, since the description really is vague enough that it could be Most Things. And maybe mentioning the bombs would've helped.

Overall though, I'm amazed my rec made it this far and am absolutely delighted at all the wrong guesses that fit shockingly well! I was laughing about the walmart-version The Hunger Games (Divergent) guess for a while. And I really thought I was done for when I went up against #139 (Endoparasitic), because that was actually one of the recs besides my own that I was rooting for!! I've checked out the trailers for that one and it looks awesome.
