Every time submissions roll around, I think about submitting Umineko. And every time I don’t submit it. Because it’s SO ripe for misinterpretations and weasel words galore, and it has so much ‘rep’ potential, etc etc, except at the same time I don’t want to blast spoilers in everyone’s faces. Ah well.

We've actually had an Umineko submission before (rec 47)! It made it to the final 8 and caused a whole lot of drama, so your suspicions about it being very good for GTR are correct.

As the submitter I don’t think its a lie? That’s legetimately a weasel word I was playing on how they get “reconciled” in the golden land. My mission was to make it sound like the exact opposite of what it is.

Admittedly, I haven’t finished Umineko and maybe the word itself is the problem? But I wasn’t lying. It was a play on a idea in the game (that if Battler just Accepeted the Golden Land was real everyone would be happy.) I even showed it to other friends (one who has Finished Umineko) and they thought it was fine

Sorry for posting an anon ask with such an accusatory tone: I didn't do as much research as I should have on the recs submitted this round, and thus was really worried that I'd let something slip that broke the rules, but I see here that the Umineko submission did follow the rules, and in fact was very much in the spirit of the tournament. Excellent work, OP, and congratulations on making it to the quarterfinals with your submission (including beating my lovely submission, the New Testament)

(To everyone else, now that I have received clarification from the submitter, I will not be hearing any more arguments as to the accuracy of the Umineko submission, as I'm not trying to start any debates on this blog. Any other asks on the topic will be deleted.)
