Political intrigue. Secret romance. Assassination plots. This piece of media has it all, from tragedy to comedy to contemplations of what it truly means to be human, and whether that even matters at all. Gunfights and sword fights are carefully balanced with scathing social commentary in this visually striking piece of media. Strong, well-written female characters with cringefail loser boyfriends who nonetheless love and support their s/o the best way they can. Nonhuman characters who are fully allowed to be nonhuman, with all that entails. Massive conspiracies. Mental health issues and grief representation. POC. Cannon queer characters. Prophecies and visions. Women with guns. And best of all -- in this story, the villains well and truly win. This piece of media really does have it all.

As the submitter of 81/Gundam, I am happy with one correct guess and one wildly inaccurate one. I was worried that all the scifi comparisons would be too spoilery, but I guess vaguely alluding to or removing the two things Gundam is known for (being anti-war, famous mecha anime) obscures things more than I thought. Props to the submitter of 84, your marketing pitch is VERY convincing and well-written.

One correct guess and one wildly inaccurate one is an excellent combination.

#81 as Kirby (..??) and #84 as.... maybe Arcane??

neither of them quiteeee fit (would it even be possible to bad-rec Arcane without mentioning the lesbians??) but that was my first thought. (I've never even played any Kirby games but I've Heard some stuff.)
