It's not the worst thing that's ever happened, though I must admit I spend much of our time together stressing over when he loses them again. For now, his expertise is much appreciated.

that’s a shame, I mean it’s not like it’s permanent. Exceptions are already being made with the age reversal spell that only lasts a week, what’s one more exception? Have fun and be free

The knights don't exactly give such exceptions freely, and I'm not exactly on their good side. Even if I were, giving him his memories back temporarily would be cruel. I'm not allowing his memories to be stolen yet again.

I mean, it’s not like you have to be the one casting the spell. What’s the harm in just saying what you wished he would remember, and then having it happen. No harm no foul right, all you have to do is say yes. No one but us has to know

I am not allowing forbidden magic to be casted on my apprentice. Taking him on as an apprentice to keep him from being sent to Adanlee was a long shot, but if there's forbidden magic cast on him, regardless of his involvement in the matter, I can't be sure what will happen. His safety and wellbeing are my responsibility, and I will not set that aside to feel good for a little bit.

what if I told you I know of a spell that temporarily allows memories of your choosing to comeback for a few days? Would you take it?

While I desperately wish it weren't the case, the principles forbid such a thing. If I'm sent to Adanlee for casting forbidden magic, nobody would be here for Galga. There's no telling what would happen to him if I'm not there. So, no, I would not take it. For his sake more than my own. He's the one truly suffering. I can't be selfish.

how’s the memory restoration coming along?

It's... a work in progress. I'm studying what I can, but with the principles... I'm a bit limited in what's available to me. The line between psychology and medicine is blurred in some areas, and I can't risk crossing that line if I'm going to be of any use. I can't consult any professionals, because I can't tell them about the lengths of the spell, so I'm a little stuck.

I'm not giving up though!

There's a way to help him, I know there is. I just... have to find it.

Christ, Galga would be so much better at this than I am... he'd know what to do, where to stop...
