No matter! It would be impolite to not introduce myself! I am Atwert, a pointed cap witch, and I use he/him pronouns :)

because there's so few Atwert appearances, he may be a bit ooc, but I try to stay pretty true to his fundamentals. there will be spoilers, especially for the silver eve and valence leech arcs. I am entirely caught up on the manga and will make references to other events, but only things atwert wld know abt.

Hello! Apologies for the sudden message. My name is Atwert. I am a witch studying how to retrieve memories without betraying the principles. From what I understand, you took on an apprentice that suffered from the same afflictions my current apprentice is suffering from in regards to amnesia. And yes, Qifrey had his memory wiped by some foul brimmed caps, so it could be beneficial to the both of us. Though, hopefully none of those memories would be too bad...

While I don't know you, I'm certain that we could figure something out! Hopefully it doesn't get the attention of the Knights Moralis in some negative way.

Memory retrieval is the end goal, but I was wondering if you had any advice for prior to that. Such goals take time, and in the meantime, I'd like to make sure he's comfortable and happy. All of his memories of magic were erased, and along with it, his passion. He told me he wishes to relearn what he's lost, but I can't help but feel I'm forcing him to do something he lacks love for.

Talvi update 2

Gosh where do I even begin..

So um.. happened before the kidnapping

Atwert and yarrow tried to bribe Talvi and reason with them. Problem number one, they’re adults. Problem number two, Talvi has very bad trust issues.

Custas appears to try and help out since you know, they’re friends (not for long..)

It starts getting bad tho.. cause Talvi really doesn’t trust them

So um Atwert almost loses his arm! Good thing it isn’t his drawing one— oh wait.

They defeat it with a fire spell though! So yay no death!

Then Talvi and custas return to the headquarters and have noodles with tartah. Custas reveals he’s a silverwood to Talvi and their reaction just seemed to make everyone wanna hug Talvi for some reason. Also they cuddle<3

(When Atwert spots Galga on the ground, he rushes to his side, heart stuck in his throat. It's all too reminiscent of Silver Eve. At least this time, he doesn't appear to be injured.)

I don't know what Wivlip did to you, that's what I came to see. Ininia's with her master, remember? You asked and she said she was safe and with her master. I don't know what's happening, but I think we can figure that out. Start from the beginning and go on from there if you can.

I remember how happy I was that day you asked me out. I remember swearing to never misuse the power of the Sinsinger's Talons. I remember you, I remember leaving you on Silver Eve. I remember being under a pile of rocks, with Ininia-

(Galga cuts himself off. He doesn't want to say anything he's not sure of, even when the evidence is damning.)

There are... there are still so many holes, but... I think I was given some of my memory back. But- but they said it would only last a week. I'll be gone again in a week, I'll forget you again in a week. I don't want to forget you again, I don't want to lose you again, I-

(Galga starts to cry as he holds Atwert tighter.)

(Atwert looks startled, his face falling.)

I... I don't want to lose you again either.

(Tears are visibly gathering in Atwert's eyes, and he lets out a choked sob.)

I don't- I've been trying to find anything that could help, but without you, it's been- it's been so hard. You know more about this sort of thing than I do, but- I don't know.

I'm sorry, this is- I shouldn't be focusing on myself. It's... gonna be alright. You shouldn't have to worry about this. Just... I'm glad you're back. And I'll figure out a way to make this permanent, I promise.

You mentioned Ininia. You didn't meet her until after the procession, and you were found under the rocks before the procession. Can you run me through that?

that’s a shame, I mean it’s not like it’s permanent. Exceptions are already being made with the age reversal spell that only lasts a week, what’s one more exception? Have fun and be free

The knights don't exactly give such exceptions freely, and I'm not exactly on their good side. Even if I were, giving him his memories back temporarily would be cruel. I'm not allowing his memories to be stolen yet again.

I mean, it’s not like you have to be the one casting the spell. What’s the harm in just saying what you wished he would remember, and then having it happen. No harm no foul right, all you have to do is say yes. No one but us has to know

I am not allowing forbidden magic to be casted on my apprentice. Taking him on as an apprentice to keep him from being sent to Adanlee was a long shot, but if there's forbidden magic cast on him, regardless of his involvement in the matter, I can't be sure what will happen. His safety and wellbeing are my responsibility, and I will not set that aside to feel good for a little bit.

what if I told you I know of a spell that temporarily allows memories of your choosing to comeback for a few days? Would you take it?

While I desperately wish it weren't the case, the principles forbid such a thing. If I'm sent to Adanlee for casting forbidden magic, nobody would be here for Galga. There's no telling what would happen to him if I'm not there. So, no, I would not take it. For his sake more than my own. He's the one truly suffering. I can't be selfish.

how’s the memory restoration coming along?

It's... a work in progress. I'm studying what I can, but with the principles... I'm a bit limited in what's available to me. The line between psychology and medicine is blurred in some areas, and I can't risk crossing that line if I'm going to be of any use. I can't consult any professionals, because I can't tell them about the lengths of the spell, so I'm a little stuck.

I'm not giving up though!

There's a way to help him, I know there is. I just... have to find it.

Christ, Galga would be so much better at this than I am... he'd know what to do, where to stop...
