Now that I am out here in the jungle I understand the struggle is real!
I am two weeks post graduation it is finally starting to hit home that I am done with college....for now anyone.
As my endless job search continues this has allowed me more time to evaluate my skills as a Public Relations professional. I've noticed a lot of people think once you've done an internship or two you've got enough experience under your belt to land an awesome job straight out school.................WRONG!!
With my three+ years of varied experience I am still struggling. I never anticipated to be sitting on the couch as we enter into the new year. I know it's technically the holidays but forget that. At 22 the last thing I am concerned about is getting presents. I am concerned about employment and having the funds to buy decent presents. Apparently journalism schools needs to place more emphasis on learning Excel/Photoshop/InDesign for college grads to land a decent first job -_____-
So as I spend time on my couch researching, applying, researching, and applying some more. I will learn as much as I can about these programs since they seem to be my saving grace.
With that being said good luck to everyone who just graduated and for those getting ready to graduate. Oh I can't forget to wish those still out there looking good luck as well.
Learn as much as you can before you enter the bull pen, the bull pen of hard work, sweat & tears.
Here's to my last rant of 2012. See ya in the new year :)
