SHE HATED BLIND DATES, yet her best friends always managed to push her into another one. so here she was, the poor girl, sitting in a small, dim lit cafe waiting for her "perfect match". imogen just didn't understand, she had zero time to go on these dates. after all, her job was demanding. singing and reading to kids at the city library was a lot of work. right? the blue-haired girl bit down on her lip looking at her latte, sort of hoping that this guy wouldn't show up or that he wouldn't be like the others; slicked back hair, button ups, constantly talking about work or trying to get her to sleep with them.

               the words made dexter’s chest tighten with dread. did she really blame herself for his problems? he hadn’t even gotten the nerve to tell her what was happening with him, so maybe… the reason he’d called them off was so she’d never have to witness him sweating and shaking from withdrawl in the middle of the night or find him in the bathroom nauseous, retching even though he’d barely eaten all day. in all honesty, she was the thing that made him want to get okay again. she made him want to get his shit together, sober up, and be able to function like a normal person. “blake, trust me on this one, you’re the one that makes it better.”

            a soft, breathy sigh fell from her lips at his words. "are you sure? i mean, you deserve the world, dexter. i really do want you to go easy on yourself and get better, but i feel like you have enough things to be concerned about without having me in the picture." blake paused momentarily, her gaze dropping to examine her knotted fingers in her lap. "i'm sorry, i'm just ---- extremely worried, that's all." she confirmed quietly, hazel eyes raising to glance over at him, her concern evident.
