Hey man! love your website - it's very cool. I was wondering what machine you would recommend to buy right now? I want to make pins/buttons of a logo.
I would definitely recommend you get an all metal button maker with no plastic parts. I would also recommend you get a button maker that uses the cheaper STANDARD BUTTON PARTS as opposed to the many companies that make button makers who tweak the sizes of the buttons so you always have to go back to them to buy the button parts. These button parts are inevitably double or triple the price. Take a look at Badge-A-Minit, this is what they do. Badge a minit sell a 2-3/8” button, they call it 2-1/4” and it costs about $200 - $250 / 1000 depending whether they are on sale. Standard 2-1/4” buttons which are 2-1/4” cost $80 - $100 / 1000. These 2 products are not interchangeable in the different machines.
If you’re budget is less than $200 and you don’t mind a bigger button then there is a type of button machine that is plastic. It works, it takes plastic parts and it’s cheap: T150 Hobby Kit But I would only recommend this for non-commercial, low volume, hobby usage.
But if you’re serious about button making get an all metal, solid button maker and it will last for years. Real Button Maker
Above links are some examples with prices and pictures. Where you best buy from depends on your location as button makers are heavy to ship.
Above image shows the dies on a solid metal button maker.
Above image is a Tecre Button Maker. I recommend this style of button maker. It’s fast, reliable and inexpensive. NO PLASTIC!
I know a lot of my followers are in Canada. Checkout People Power Press and if you can make it to the showroom in Toronto it's a lot of fun and probably the widest selection of button makers on the planet. Checkout People Power Press in Toronto
